  1. Zillion for $205 on Amazon right now.
  2. Took advantage of pretty steep discount Kistler was having on a few of their Chromium rods/reels. The rods and reels 'retail' for $300. I put that in parenthesis because as we all know, they're always having sales. Are these on the same level as other $300 rods/reels? Eh, I wouldn't say that. But getting the reel for $89 and rod $99, that's a steal IMO. The cork on these rods feel so nice to the touch, I almost didn't wanna seal it. Lol.
  3. I've had these on my TW wish list for a bit now. Looking forward to your thoughts on these.
  4. How much was shipping? I had 6 Chatterbaits in my cart. $27 for shipping. Think I'll pass.
  5. Not seeing any Jackhammers or Showerblows...unless they're sold out?
  6. What. Have. You. Done.
  7. Nice, I'm sure you'll love it. The KLX I sold was also a 7'3 H/Mod-Fast. But it was only rated up to 1 1/4 oz. It was labeled as their Frog/Jig/Creature/Worm rod. I'm sure you'll be able to frog/punch with the one you ordered.
  8. I got the 7'0 MH/XF. I already have the 7'2 HMH which is the 'frog/toad rod' that I use when not frogging really thick stuff. It's no longer on their site though. Just 3 models are available, so I wonder if these are going away or what. It's one of their newest series. What KLX did you get? This will be my 5th Kistler. I also have a Helium, 2 Feel N Reels and the 2 Chromium's. My Helium and Feel N Reels are the previous model that used the North Fork Composite blanks. I used to have a KLX too, but sold it. Great rod, just wasn't using it much.
  9. Good post. But regarding this, it's mainly about money. Same reason Wheeler uses Duckett rods and Roland Martin uses Favorite. Nothing beats an old pickup truck. Unless it's a Ford (I'M KIDDING).
  10. That would've been DANGEROUS if true!
  11. I truly hope, for the sake of humanity, that nobody is taking anything in this thread personally. We're talking about friggin' fishing reels, people. Not moms, not wives. FISHING REELS.
  12. Kistler website has their Chromium reels (100 & 200 size) marked down to $88. Regular "$300". Anybody have any experience with these?
  13. For me the 2 main advantages is it makes it harder for the fish to throw it and they seem to always run true. The biggest con, I would think, is they aren't as weedless as traditional spinnerbaits. Especially going over laydowns. With the swinging head, it can roll over some, so it's not aligned with the wire, making it more likely to get caught up on wood, etc.
  14. I agree. I have many of both and they're both great. Also have some 13 Fishing and Lew's. No Urkel's, I mean Abu's, tho.
  15. That's what I'm guessing. I'm hoping they're just being replaced with a new model in that $300 price range. I know they have the new Orochi X10, but that's $400.
  16. I believe there's going to be a price drop to $199.
  17. I'm just going along with the silliness. (tho Abu would get KO'ed in the 1st round) 🙂
  18. Abu Garcia entering the ring of a Shimano vs Daiwa heavyweight fight.
  19. 2 new baits to check out. Picasso's new Titanium spinnerbait. Obviously has the titanium wire, but also a swinging head, which has it's pros and cons. Also got the Toad Thumper Juggernaut Jig. This thing is an absolute beast of a heavy-cover jig. I won't be able to try it out until next year, but I can already tell this is going to be one impressive jig to throw around the gnarly stuff.
