  1. Restocked on some Booty Shakers. If you haven't tried these you really should. The plastic is so soft, yet somehow durable (its not elaztech). I'll fish them as stand-alone as well as swim jig trailers (3.25 and 4.0, depending on the size profile you want). The swim jig has a 4.0 on it with the head of the bait trimmed off. Last pic is the 5.0.
  2. I like this bait. But do yourself a favor and put some Mend-It or maybe super glue over the butt plug. They have a habit of popping out after a handful of catches.
  3. If you're talking about who I think you are, it's funny because he's shown new JDM baits in the past that looked like blatant rip-offs of a current bait, and says nothing about it. Lol.
  4. What is it about Power Pro that makes you wanna change? I also use 50# Power Pro for froggin' and am 100% happy with it. I use other/smoother braids for other application, but for frogs I see no need to go away from PP.
  5. Hey, at least you live in a region where a hog is more common than up here. So you have more chances to redeem yourself. And yes, the answer for everything in life is to buy more tackle. ?
  6. Heartbreak hotel! Those are definitely the times you take a seat and ponder life for a bit before you get back at it. Nothing beats a good buzzbait bite!
  7. If anyone is interested Sportsman's Outfitter's has buy 2 get 2 free Duckett Triad rods. I don't use Duckett so I don't have any opinion on these rods.
  8. For sure! You're doing what you gotta do. As a fellow fishing/tackle addict, I can imagine it has to be tough. Keep up the good fight!
  9. And what happens if something goes wrong with the backup? Better get a backup for that one just incase. (And so on..)
  10. Man, you don't mess around! And that is a GREAT reel! Ever hear the saying '(Bait) Monkey see, (Bait) Monkey do"? You see the rods, now just do it. Your downsizing lasted all of what, 2 days? ?
  11. 6th Sense has Cinco de Mayo sale going on just for today. Select baits for $5. Really good deal on the frogs and cranks/squarebills, which are usually $10 each.
  12. I think anglers underestimate a bass' senses besides their site. Even in the muddiest of waters bass have no problem tracking down a bluegill just from the vibration they give off from swimming. Granted, I do tend to go with rattles on my cranks more often than not when fishing dirty water. But there's a lot of times a silent large squarebill will outfish a rattling 1.5.
  13. It was definitely a fun fight. That thing was peeeeling drag. I had 3 other boats stop and watch to see what I had going. After about 10 minutes they were like "ok that's enough, we're out of here". Haha.
  14. One of my reels from Ali Express came today. Initially said May 12th arrival date but it came a week early, which was a nice surprise. 2 weeks exactly. Not too bad. MGL 70 for $162.
  15. The smell came from handling that carp. Wooo weee it S T U N K!
  16. Managed to get out for a few hours yesterday afternoon. Caught a few solid but not spectacular bass. Most were caught on a Jackhammer with a Pro Point Lure Machete Minnow trailer (really liking these). And then this huge carp took me for a 20 minute ride. There's some big muskie in this lake so that was my initial thought. It didn't take long to realize it was likely a carp the way it was fighting. Needless to say the Bill Lewis ATV 1.5 comes with some solid hardware! Snagged him in the back with my squarebill setup. My arms were tired after that fight! ? And my hands still stunk later that night after washing them I don't know how many times.
  17. Was throwing the Mini Max today on my 6'10 MH/MF Legit Design Stand Out rod. Normally I'm going with straight fluoro for my bladed jigs. But this setup had 30# braid to leader. Was very pleased with it.
  18. Yeah this is normal for BPS/Cabela's. The head scratcher for me is, I'll literally order 4-5 baits and they'll ship them in huge boxes. So unnecessary.
  19. The 70 MGL and 150 MGL can definitely cast lighter lures better than the 200K, but they can also be used for "normal" baits as well. The 70's frame is smaller than the 150. The 150 is smaller than the 200K. Also, the 70 and 150 are quite a bit lighter than the 200K. Also, the 150 comes with bigger knobs than the 70. The 70 isn't BFS. They actually make a separate BFS Curado. The 150 holds more line than the 70. But you can absolutely throw swim jigs, chatterbaits etc on the 70. Right now I have five 70 MGL's, three 200's and one 150 MGL. I love them all but especially love my 70's. They just disappear in your hand because of their smaller frame. I do wanna get another 150. Ok, this makes me sad. ?
  20. 7'2 MH/F Expride or 7'2 H Zodias are great rods that you can do a ton of stuff with as well. Also, the new 2023 Daiwa Tatula Elite Randy Howell 7' ML casting rod is a fun rod to throw squarebills/med-diving cranks/lipless on. I think it's work great for poppers as well.
  21. What line are you using on your Diablo? I also use my Diablo for swim jigs. I have 16# fluoro on it. But if I wanna fish/rip the swim jig through heavier weeds, I use 40# braid on my 7'3 H/F Powell Naked Series rod. LOVE this rod. Right now I have a Lew's KVD reel on it, and I replaced the stock knobs with the Lew's/Winn round knobs. When I get caught in some grass, instead of always ripping the jig out, I'll just keep cranking that handle and the swim jig will just bulldoze it's way through. It's my 4x4 swim jig setup.
  22. I think you'll do just fine with that rod, assuming you can walk the bait without slapping the water with the rod tip. A lot of times I'll throw my bigger walking baits on my Sierra 734C. Another GREAT walking bait is the Yo-Zuri 3DB. One of my favorites. That and the Evergreen Shower Blows 105.
  23. The Tackle Trap is back! And they have some amazing deals right now in their closeout section. A lot of Deps swimbaits up to 50% off. Netbait Paca Craw/Chunk/Slim for $1.99. Bunch of Zoom products for $2.50-$3.00. And much more. Edit- Doesn't look like they offer any free shipping though regardless of how much you spend.
  24. For full size Spooks I would opt for something a little heavier than the Dream to be honest. If you're talking Spook Jr etc then it'd do great IMO. Yup, upon further inspection today you are right. It's on there correctly.
