  1. I have not handled the Black Bass, so I won't be of much help. What I can tell you is that Sierra 734 is an awesome stick! Can handle pretty much any moving bait, as well as frogs. It comes in micro guides and normal size, so make sure you pay attention and get what you want. I have the micro guides because I don't run a leader on that rod, just straight braid.
  2. Copperstate has 20% off site-wide (Shimano/Daiwa excluded). No code needed. PLUS 20% off gift cards (electronic or physical). Double those up and you have a crazy deal.
  3. I wanted to give these a try. Glad you volunteered to be the guinea pig. Please report back and let us know how they are.
  4. Don't tell me some sassy bass isn't gonna eat this thing.
  5. Just in case the fish is carrying a periscope. Seriously though, to me it's more about the profile. I use a black frog 75% of the time just because I think the bass can locate it easier. But if fishing open, clear water...and it's calm out...the bass can see the side of the bait if it's trailing/stalking it. Not to mention when walking the frog, some will dip beneath the surface a tad. But yeah, the actual TOP of the bait is irrelevant. It' purpose is to catch the fisherman. The amount of colors SPRO offers in the Bronzeye is ridiculous.
  6. I just think their sales are usually far inferior to all these other places. I shopped at Cabela's/Bass Pro Shops way more back in the day. Now we have so many more options. I do like physically going through the store from time to time though. I'll still buy from them, just not as much as I used to.
  7. Reel sizes are crazy nowadays. Back in the day the Curado 200K would've felt like a BFS reel of today. I remember this old Curado feeling "small" 20+ years ago. Comparing it now to the new Hundo is is really something. Granted, the Hundo is considered small even by today's standards.
  8. IMO, the Curado 200 K and M are noticeably larger (and heavier) than the MGL 150, and way larger than the Curado 70.
  9. Holy sheeeee. And I'd love to see the look on your better half's face as you were setting all that up on your table for the photo shoot. 😅
  10. You're saying the spool tension is tightened to where the spool doesn't have any play in it? Is the actual line guide moving the same distance to each side? I had a new reel a while back where the line guide didn't quiiiite go as far to the left as it did to the right, causing line to build up more on the right side of the spool.
  11. 25% off Rapala/Crush City at Copperstate.
  12. Resembles a salamander/mudpuppy. Free-rig that sucker during the spawn.
  13. This. Or I'll go with none at all. But most of the time I want an added profile like the Strike King Blade Minnow provides (trimmed down a tad). Not a fan of paddletails on spinnerbaits at all.
  14. I'm not of much help, since I don't have any Victory's. But I do have this same Zodias model and it's great. The Zodias line is so underrated IMO.
  15. I have a few tubes I'd be willing to let go for a Loomis NRX+ or Megabass P5 Destroyer. PM me if interested.
  16. 13 Fishing Concept C2 (6.8:1 RH) for $100. Retail $230. Solid reel, especially at that price! https://www.googleadservices.com/pagead/aclk?sa=L&ai=DChcSEwjL8tnSioOKAxVXMwgFHY2yBwUYABApGgJtZA&co=1&ase=2&gclid=CjwKCAiA6aW6BhBqEiwA6KzDcz_ObhqeRelxrDxpjo94_5qFfzHC3nPBcbav9qZ0kjwjCo10ppwOaRoCmjUQAvD_BwE&ohost=www.google.com&cid=CAESVeD2Fm3cx9xMfLBGG7E9jxnUkJH05cTwV4w4OnoE0c7cQACCa70EJrIlixdM1vh_pnOqwXU1Hn28KU_mbFkQAA05N2lfRT6dIRRgajgXDkdPMe32RCA&sig=AOD64_0DhYqIfwAsKZxLIzkvqVdHfpNBFw&ctype=5&q=&nis=4&ved=2ahUKEwjVgNXSioOKAxWbmokEHYgCBwwQ9aACKAB6BQgHEJAC&adurl= Good deal, but all the non-AGS casting and spinning models sold out this morning. Still AGS models available though.
  17. It's a sickness, I swear. My friends joke with me that I should start a Youtube channel just for unboxings, since people seem to really like those kinds of videos. In the past I've given tackle away to young kids who I see fishing at the boat launches/along the banks. I'm gonna have to up my game a little this year I think and give out more. And I agree on those black D Bombs. I fish a lot of stained lakes where black baits are the ticket.
  18. Got a few Level rods I've been wanting to check out. Very nice rods, especially at the price (and especially on sale). They also balance perfectly with lighter reels. I may buy a few more for Christmas gifts. Then just a handful of stuff I needed to restock on and a few things I bought just because they were so cheap (and goofy-looking). A bird flipping bait and nymph by Fish Lab. The nymph with definitely work on a ned head. The wings are extremely thin/limp, which should provide some additional action under water with the slightest of movement. I do like these little no-action craws by Venture Lures on finesse jigs in the early spring. And then figured I'd try out these tiny 2" Damiki cranks, which are 50% off right now at TW.
  19. You can definitely throw Chatterbaits/Spinnerbaits on a 70 MGL. I absolutely love the Curado 150 MGL. I like them so much I sold the 4 Curado K's I had and replaced them with these a few years back. Daiwa Elite's are really nice as well.
