  1. Agree. Tho I will say I feel some buyers remorse when I walk into a BPS or Cabelas with the intention of getting 1 or 2 things, and end up walking about with $150 worth of lures/stuff.
  2. There's a private quarry near me that has ridiculously large bass. Only fished there a few times but can never get the real big ones to bite. But there's rock wall along one side that you can walk along and see them some swimming now and then. They are HUUUGE. Have to be double digits.
  3. I just bought a Daiwa Tatula SV 103H. And it definitely flings the lighter gear a good distance.
  4. Hey guys. I usually fish from April thru September. Come fall, I'm usually more focused on hunting. This year I'd like to focus more on the fall bite. How late do you guys in the colder, northern states fish? Thanks.
  5. Hi guys. I'm looking at getting a Daiwa Tatula SV TW for casting weightless Senkos and Flukes. Would you recommend the 6.3:1 or 7.3:1 model? Thanks.
  6. I bought the Tatula CT 6.3:1 off ebay for $85, and it's amazing.
  7. What makes Big Game better than Trilene XL/XT? I haven't tried it yet but see a lot of people here use it.
  8. So, I bought a Tatula CT (6.3:1) off that Ebay store (thanks for the recommendation!). Now, as I said, I'm a Curado guy myself. I went out with it today for the first time and figured I'd use it for my spinnerbaits/chatterbaits. Using 12# Sufix Seige (also first time). Holy man, is this thing smooooth! The casting. The reeling. It is so silent. Not saying I'll replace my Curados with these, but I'll definitely be adding Daiwa reels to the family.
  9. Interesting that this rod is made from IM6 graphite, but if you buy the rod/reel combo (which looks identical), that rod is made of IM8 blanks.
  10. I bought the Silver Max combo for a "backup" setup. So far, so good. Not as nice as my Curados/Croix, obviously. But it's a fine setup for the price. I'd say it was a good call returning the Ultra for the Pro.
  11. Thanks all for the replies!
  12. My Curado i casts a mile. Well, not literally, but it casts faaar.
  13. Thanks for some clarification. Now can you explain the difference between silicone skirt and living rubber? I assume living rubber has more movement? Also, is there a way to get wire tie as well as rattles on the same jig? Thanks again.
  14. Dang. I may have to get a Daiwa to add to my Curados, etc then. Thanks!
  15. Hi all. Question, what are some of the differences with the Siebert jigs? Many have the exact same description. Been wanting to order a bunch but not sure what the differences are with some of these. Thanks.
  16. Are these reels brand new/never used? How can he sell them so cheap? Cabelas has the 200i's on sale now for $129.99. Great deal.
  17. Thanks guys. I'm nervous getting a 70 because I'm afraid I'll like the smaller size so much that I'll end up hating all my other reels. So which lures/applications would you NOT recommend the 70 for?
  18. I have the 200I, and love it. But been thinking about the 70 for more finese baits. For Ned Rig, would this be a good choice? As good as a spinning setup? Can I do heavy flipping/pitching with 3/8-1/2oz jigs with this? Or is the 200 still a better option for that?
  19. My local Gander has a handful of the Elite Tech Bass rods on sale (closing). Regular $150 but marked down to 40% off. I loved how it felt in my hands but wasn't sure on Fenwick's reputation nowadays. I know years ago they were rather popular. After reading this thread I'm mad I didn't pick one up.
  20. Well I went ahead and bought a 7' med-heavy Tournament Series casting rod. Reg. $80 on sale for $48. I figured why not for that price? Hopefully it holds up. Thanks for all the input guys. Now I have to decide if I want the Fenwick that they had there..
  21. Thanks. Yeah, I hear ya on the rod usually being mediocre at best on these combos. But when I researched it, and saw that Lew's actually sells that rod separately (for $80), I thought "hmm, maybe this rod is actually decent". And I just read now that this won Best of Class for rod/reel combos at the 2016 iCast.
  22. I've never used a Lew's before, but have heard pretty positive things about them. I saw this combo today at Dick's Sporting Goods and it felt really good in my hands. Anybody have any experience with this specific combo? https://www.google.com/url?sa=t&rct=j&q=&esrc=s&source=web&cd=4&cad=rja&uact=8&ved=0ahUKEwjjxIKj9MHVAhVFxYMKHQg-Bb0QFgi1ATAD&url=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.dickssportinggoods.com%2Fp%2Flews-mach-ii-speed-spool-baitcast-combo-16lewamch7ftmhbcccom%2F16lewamch7ftmhbcccom&usg=AFQjCNGKJy7l4Tqk78uVvM1ECzXvXVZqUg
