  1. If the water is clear, try more natural-looking cranks. And if the place is highly pressured, try silent or very faint rattle cranks. For really clear water I like ghost/clear colored cranks like the MJ Ghost Minnow color: http://www.tacklewarehouse.com/Lucky_Craft_LC_Silent_Deep_Diver_Crankbaits/descpage-LCLCDD.html http://img.tacklewarehouse.com/watermark/rs.php?path=LCLCDD-MGM-1.jpg
  2. If I'm sight fishing, I like using a light/white color. If you can see your bait it makes things 10 times easier. One of my favorites is the 3.5" reaction Innovations Sweet Beaver. Make sure you split the larger appendages apart.
  3. Looking at this further, I think that have the wrong info listed. The model # of that rod is that of the 7'3" med/heavy fast action. Also, on Daiwa's official site there are no Zillions listed. Are these being discontinued I wonder?
  4. Nice! I'd pull the trigger on the 7'3 med-heavy jig/worm rod, but it isn't fast action. It's regular. Anybody have any experience with these rods? Is Daiwa's regular action faster than others?
  5. I've yet to try these. But I bought 3 different colors to use this summer. Can't wait.
  6. Jesus, just when I thought I finally had these buggers all figured out!
  7. Hey guys, the Academy 20% off code is still good. How do I know? Well I just bought 3 more Ploppers! I think that's 8 now since the sale. (Holy emoji overload. Must have added all these when the site was down) Hard to pass them up when they're $8!
  8. Thanks for the reply. Yeah, I'm curious how the carbon would feel. I imagine that helps feeling the bites more. But wonder how comfy it is and if it gets slippery when wet.
  9. I've never heard much about these rods. I searched them on here and reviews were so-so, and from 2-3 years ago, siting shaky build quality. Doing a little more research, I've seen some better (and more recent) reviews. Many mention how sensitive they are. Anybody have any experience with these? I'm looking for a new worm/plastics casting rod and this caught my eye.
  10. I used to always use the Johnson's Silver Minnow. No idea why I stopped, but it's been some time since it's seen the water. Would always use a Zoom Split Tail trailer on it. that thing would just glide thru the lily pads. Caught many big bass on it. I may have to give it some love this year.
  11. Every time I see this thread bumped, I don't know whether to smile or cry.
  12. Tackle Warehouse has, by far, the best selection of baits, rods, etc.
  13. I have Curados and Tats. Can't go wrong either way IMO. If you go Curado, Academysports.com has 20% off. So you can get one for $145. Here's the promo code. CC201820PCT
  14. I hate you. Check that. My wallet hates you. Got another Plopper, as if I needed more. And decided to give the Abu Revo SX a try. I've heard great things about the Gen 4 version of these. I mostly have Tatulas and Curados, but have been wanting to try an Abu for a while now. So I bit the bullet.
  15. Yup. That's what happened to me. Part of my order came Monday and the rest today.
  16. Is 6 amps per bank sufficient? Obviously it is for you since you're happy with it. How long does it to take to full charge your batteries after a long day of use?
  17. OK good. I was gonna say I've seen nothing but good reviews on that Minn Kota.
  18. Well this I don't like hearing since that's the one I was likely gonna go with. Like I said, the dual pros won't fit I guess.
  19. OK, so I've been looking at Minn Kota and Dual Pro. It seems the Dual Pro is a little too big for where it will be mounted. The charger can't be more than 4" thick (tall). So I'm looking at these two Minn Kota's. One is a 3 bank, 10 amps per bank. The other is 4 bank, 14 amps per bank. Does it pay to spend the extra 185 for the latter? I only 'need' 3 banks, right? 2 for the 70lb thrust trolling motor, and one for the outboard/lights/graph. How much faster will 15 amps/bank charge compared to 10 amps/bank? If I fish all day, and plug the batteries in at night...lets say 8-9pm, will they likely be charged by 5am the next morning with either of those chargers? Here's the 2 chargers. Also, anybody have these specific ones? https://www.amazon.com/MinnKota-Board-Battery-Charger-Banks/dp/B0042TC5QM/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1524529134&sr=8-2&keywords=minn+kota+on+board+charger https://www.amazon.com/Minn-Kota-Precision-Board-Charger/dp/B01AB8B5TK/ref=sr_1_4?ie=UTF8&qid=1524529134&sr=8-4&keywords=minn+kota+on+board+charger Thanks again guys!
  20. Bass prefer newer baits. It's a scientific fact. At least that's what I tell myself to justify all my spending.
  21. Yup. Looks like that's exactly what happened. They shipped 10 items few days ago and the other 2 will be shipped today. It didn't tell me that on my order status when I went to the site tho. I had to call to find out.
  22. Interesting. I used the 20% off on 4 Ploppers, and got them yesterday. I then placed another order few days later using the 20% off. It took it. Got a bunch of Trick Worms, Brush Hogs and some line. Also an Abu Revo X spinning reel. Well, I got charged for the entire order. Yet when I got my shipping confirmation email, it doesn't show the reel. It better be in there since I paid for it.
  23. Sadly, the 20% off code isn't valid anymore. Probably a good thing. I was just about to order a 4th reel in the past few weeks. Mods, please lock me out of this thread.
  24. Love Siebert jigs. Got my first shipment of some last summer. They were so nice-looking, I scolded the first bass I caught on one because he was so rough with it.
