  1. Pitching, yes. Around wood, rocks, submerged grass. Usually 16# Sniper. But for punching it's 100% braid. I want that power to drive those big hooks home and quickly get that head turned towards me. You wanna be able to man-handle that fish in those thick veggies, and braid is much better at doing so than any other line. Also, the braid will "saw" through the grass while fighting the fish. Fluoro, not so much.
  2. Mine usually takes around a week to 10 days. May depend on who you buy from.
  3. I just got busy. When they send you the quote you have 5 days to place your order. And I went past that. I'll probably still do it, I just have to go through it all again. What model are you planning on getting?
  4. I did get the quote but I didn't place an order. Shipping was $29.
  5. For sure. And you usually get them earlier than what the initial delivery date says. For me it takes around 6-7 days. Some legit sellers I've bought from are ABCSPIDER Store, West Door Fishing Tackle, Krazi Reel Fishing Tackle, WHSTD. There's also usually codes you can find online for an extra $20-$30 off or so.
  6. I just came across this thread. I had a witty reply on deck and ready to go. Then I read all the comments and realized my comment wasn't needed. 😄
  7. Nice! Yeah, if you liked the old Tharps/Invokers, I think you'll be quite pleased with the new as well.
  8. I believe so. Same as the new Tharps. Have you held these new ones yet? I also loved the old reel seat on the previous model, so I was worried when I saw they changed them. But I find these just as, if not more, comfortable. They're also lighter.
  9. Agree. If I'm paying $300+/rod, it better be light. So to see these lesser expensive rods weighing so little, that's impressive.
  10. I like the Ark Tharp series so much, I decided to give the new Invoker Tour a look. I still love my Expride's, Orochi's etc, but there are some real gems to be had nowadays in the less expensive group. The Tharp is definitely one of them, and I'm willing to bet the Invoker Tour won't disappoint, either. It's a 7' MH/XF. It comes in at a very impressive 4.05 oz. That's lighter than my 7'1 MH Kistler Helium (NFC blank) which weighs 4.10 oz. Another thing I love about these rods is the hook keeper. Probably my favorite style.
  11. Can't wait to hear your thoughts on it. That puppy must've ran another $50 with all that tech. 😅 Hopefully this guy doesn't also have expensive taste!
  12. Not sure of your budget, but the 6'10 M Expride B is a great choice. Also, the 6'11 M+ Poison Adrena. A little cheaper option, the Megabass Levante Jerkbait Special is a good one.
  13. BaitWrx has 20# Tatsu in 1,000 yards for $159.99. Reg. $279.99.
  14. Not even in the same realm, but I lost two 6th Sense Flat Finesse cranks and a DT-6 today to those pesky buggers!
  15. Yessir. I love Siebert's Northern Craw color as well for imitating gills.
  16. Email 6th Sense with your issue, including pics. I've done so with some quality issues in the past and they sent me new ones.
  17. Need to add some red lights to that beauty!
  18. I have a Legit Design Stand Out rod that I absolutely love and wanna get another. It's around $230 here, but they have it for $120. So even if the shipping was $40, that's still a deal. Thanks again.
  19. Appreciate it. You have any idea around how much shipping cost is on a rod?
  20. Bulldog, I tried buying a rod from FishingShop.kiwi last night. It said once I confirm my order, they'd email me with a link with shipping cost and there I could complete my purchase. Well, I got an email from them with order number and a pin number. I click a link where it takes me to a page to enter my pin number. Once I do that I get redirected to the same page that says they'll send me a link once they confirm my order. Am I doing something wrong? Have they just not confirmed my order yet...should I be expecting another email from them? Thanks!
  21. I've yet to dip my toes into the JDM sites for reels. Mainly because, from what I hear, JDM versions of reels you can buy here sometimes have aluminum gears instead of brass. Also, some come with shorter handles than their US counterpart (85mm vs 90mm).
  22. You're doing it right! That's great. Thanks!
  23. Guys, it's gotten so out of control you have no idea. It's flat-out embarrassing at this point. The wall is full so now I have tubs/totes full of new tackle. I don't even know what I have anymore. It honestly causes me anxiety. 🤦‍♂️ I have been giving some stuff away to random kids I see fishing at the ramps or along the river in my town.
  24. Got another Expride B. 7'2 MH/F. I had read that the B's are stiffer than the A', but comparing it to my A of the same model, it almost seems a tad softer. I absolutely love these rods. I'm glad they finally added a hook keeper, but I HATE where they put it. I also have the 6'10 M model that I'll use for jerkbaits. Reaching down to drab it off the deck and getting 110 hooks in your hand isn't much fun. Got a few of the Ark Cobb series rods. I really like the Ark Tharp series. Great rods at their price point. So when I saw Ark had a BOGO deal on the Cobb's, I figured what the heck. I didn't need them, but for $50 a pop, I decided to check them out. These are the cheapest rods I own (retail $100), so to be honest I wasn't expecting a whole lot. But I must say, I'm pleasantly surprised at how light they are and how well they fish. I decided on the 7'1 Buzz Burner and 7'4 Walking Stick. I thought they were black from looking at websites, but when the sun hits them just right, you can see they're actually green.
