  1. 7'2" Kistler KLX FNR. Med-heavy/moderate. The blank has a glass tip that is fused into graphite.
  2. I don't love or hate the smell of bass. But Pike...those slimy scoundrels smell.
  3. Funny. I had the same thing happen to me fishing a Texas rig this year (Gammy tho, not VMC). I was pitching, working it slow, so I was surprised it was actually able to hook him.
  4. FTR, I've never tried Tatsu. Just referencing people who mention using line conditioner with it.
  5. For the cost of Tatsu, you shouldn't have to use line conditioner.
  6. They even make a KISS rod. Yes, the band KISS...on a fishing rod.
  7. Shark teeth? That alone would keep me from buying the reel.
  8. I use 16 lb Sniper for my jigs and Texas Rigs and have no complaints.
  9. It's really too bad some of these baits, that are already pricey enough, don't come with quality hooks/hardware.
  10. The Hook Up Tackle has some great deals on demo rods. Some great deals on some very nice rods (even NRX). Says they have very light use...maybe some water spots, light wear (dirt) on cork. Blanks and guides are perfect condition. Rods will be detailed before shipped. https://l.facebook.com/l.php?u=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.thehookuptackle.com%2Ffishing%2FDemo%2BRods%3Ffbclid%3DIwAR0A_5KrtIPVLUB27YLcbRdT7yIBOPmqD518B768gBg8HBiGMjpWOv3q-2s&h=AT3h5OCleu-US1NPLjAKpd5bywzxyrOwFXeM7pxMgV4nlSjW-JnKY47aJ0JckrM1UzXMAXSd8SsS3-VhYdxNuJ4HYp8clWc0h2QXC2uczE_S12xE4C-qBI-gX1xuixBTCCqD
  11. You talking about the iRod Genesis II Fred's Crank Launcher? It has a removable handle so it can fit in shorter rod lockers. I was looking at a new deep cranking setup last month but didn't wanna break the bank since it's a technique I don't spend a TON of time on. Here's what I went with and couldn't be happier. The Lew's reel is butter smooth and casts like a rocket. I recommend the 5.1:1. https://www.tacklewarehouse.com/catpage-LEWREEL.html?from=basres (It's actually $129.99 at Sportsman's Outfitters) https://www.tacklewarehouse.com/catpage-LEWRODS.html?from=basres Lews Custom Speed Stick Crankbait Casting Rod (I got the 7'6". It says medium in the link description but it's actually a med-heavy)
  12. I didn't think what he said was bad. He's merely saying if you look around you might find even more advice. Now, there are a few on here who do have that's know-it-all tone that rubs people the wrong way. I just don't think that was his intentions. Anyhoo, I love the Chatterbait (bladed jig). Since it's come out I find myself using the spinnerbait less than I used to.
  13. My first thought when I saw this was "what does he have shoved in the bass' mouth.
  14. I have the 7'2" med-heavy. It's a great rod that I use for my jigs. And it's one of the nicest looking rods around (if that sort of thing matters to you). I do think my Kistler Helium 3 is more sensitive, though. Not saying the Expride isn't, it is. But if you don't wanna wait around, you can get the Helium for $195 (reg. $300) right now with the sale price, plus the extra 11% off code. I'd get either the 7'1" or 7'4" in the med-heavy/extra fast. You get free shipping with orders over $199. But if you call them I guarantee they'll throw the free shipping in. If you get the Expride you'll have to order a Fuji hook keeper since the rod, strangely, doesn't come with one.
  15. I have that rod. I mainly throw my chatterbaits on it. It's sooo good. Great for squarebills, traps and med-diving cranks as well. You can call them and they'll put your order in over the phone. You'll get it a tad later than usualy but at least you'll still get the deal.

  17. Discount Tackle has 20% off all Z-Man products. I don't shop there often so I'm not sure if that's the norm or not? Just stocked up on some Jackhammers ($12.79) in my favorite color (Bruised Green Pumpkin).
  18. I have 3 of their rods and they are top notch. I have enough rods the way it is but I may have to pull the trigger on another Kistler.
  19. I don't know if tearing out all the carpeting and adding different flooring to a 2018 boat is "easier".
  20. As far as Abu goes, I only have one baitcaster, and it's the REVO SX Gen 4. It's a nice reel, but my Curados and Tatulas blow it out of the water when it comes to performance.
  21. Oh my God, that's great!
  22. What brand and HP do you use? Thanks AJ. Not sure I wanna spend that much, especially since I won't have any dog hair in it.
  23. Hey guys, just curious what you all use to vacuum out your boat. I always get little fuzzies etc that stick into the carpet that my hand vac just won't suck out. I was looking at smaller shop vacs (5-6 HP). Are those strong enough to get the job done? What do yall use? Thanks.
