  1. Thanks all. Like I said, the majority of the rods are in like-new condition. I think I priced most of them 35% off and more on others. I figured people would haggle as well on Marketplace. So we'll see how it goes. And maybe subconsciously I haven't listed them cheaper than that (yet) because I don't wanna get rid of them. 😅
  2. Just caught up on the latest posts in here. Thank you all so much. I've read every one of your replies multiple times already. I want you all to know you mean the world to me. I'm definitely trying to stay positive through all this. I lost my mom a few days ago, so I don't think 2025 can get much worse. But I do know I now have an amazing angel looking over me. Happy V-Day to you all. I love each and every one of you, buuuut....
  3. They have foam handles with carbon butts.
  4. Man it's so tough. Obviously family and friends are my top love and priority. But my fishing stuff means everything to me.
  5. Thank you my friend. And it's true, most of the rods you couldn't tell the difference between them and one shipped straight from TW. And I only put the retail price in there for when I post on FB marketplace. Not everyone are fanatics like us here so they don't realize how much some of these rods cost nowadays.
  6. Hopefully it's ok I post this here. I will be selling some rods soon. I feel like the pricing is quite fair but wanted to get feedback from you guys if you think some are too high/low. I'm hoping to do pickup/meet up so I don't have to ship. These are the casting rods I'm selling. I take great care of my rods (kind of OCD) so most rods are like new. I'm talking no scratches or anything. Perfectly straight blanks and guides. Some older ones might have a few surface scratches by the hook keeper, but nothing crazy. Rods are listed by length. 7. Current Expride and Zodias are top notch rods.
  8. Oh gosh, you guys and gals are all waaay too kind. I couldn't accept anything like that. It's just not in my nature, even though I appreciate the thought more than words can describe. All of your uplifting words and messages in this thread is plenty!! Absolutely invaluable. I love you all.
  9. Dang you guys...I knew this place was special but you all are showing just how special it really is. I can't lie, my spirits are pretty dark right now but reading this thread has definitely lifted me up. I honestly can't express enough how much each and every one of you mean to me. I mean it. Love you all, Galen (don't ask...my mom told me once I was named after one of the ape's from the original Planet of the Apes- which there was an ape named Galen on there- but my dad insists I was named after 'Doc' Dr. Galen Adams from Gunsmoke. I always went with my dad's answer)
  10. Thank you all for the kind words. It brings tears to my eyes reading all your replies. BTW, my name isn't Glenn. I was referring to the big dog here, asking if it were ok for me to post this in this forum.
  11. Hey guys (Glenn), I hope it's ok for me to post this here in the tackle thread since this is mainly where I've hung out since becoming part of this great community. I contemplated if I should even do this or not, but this place has become like my second family, and I love you all so much. A day doesn't go by where I don't come on here multiple times. Anyways, I found out the other day that I have an advanced form of cancer and that it's incurable. My mind is all over the place right now. One moment I'm at peace with it, then next moment I'm a wreck and cannot believe it. I'm not really even sad for myself...more so for my friends and family who have to go through this now and when I'm gone. I don't know yet how much time I have left. They wanna do further testing for that, and to see if it pays to try treatment to prolong it or not. The thought of never fishing again, or my days on the water being numbered, absolutely tears me apart. It's been my passion like no other. Anyways, I just wanted to share that with you all, my Bass Resource Family. Hopefully I'll be around for a bit yet, so this isn't a goodbye as of now. I love you all.
  12. Hey!!! (what happened to the rest of you name??)
  13. Make sure they honor their online pricing.
  14. Copperstate has 20% off gift cards again.
  15. I got mine pretty quick. Placed order at 10pm last night and got the electronic gift card at 1pm today.
  16. Frogs casually swim on the surface all the time. It's when they feel danger and wanna get away quickly they'll dive sub-surface.
  17. Merry Christmas to my fishing family! Appreciate every one of you.
  18. The Black Bass rods are extremely new. You're gonna have a hard time finding someone who not only has a model you'd be interested in, but also put some time on the water with it. I have 50 different rods from more budget-friendly all the way up to higher end, and going through them all, the best rod I would recommend you for what you're looking for is still the Sierra 734 micro guides. Especially at it's current sale price. https://www.tacklewarehouse.com/Dobyns_Sierra_Micro_Casting_Rods/descpage-SSMS.html
  19. It's definitely a tad slower than fast, but also has a solid backbone. Most consider it a MH+ than a true heavy. If you're looking for a buzzbait rod, this is perfect. And like I said, it definitely works for frogging as well. I have other frog rods that I use more regularly, but have thrown a frog on this many times. I also like the little softer tip because it aids in walking a frog in open water. 40# braid would be perfect. I've even thrown lipless cranks on it when I really wanna rip it through the grass. Like I said, it's a very versatile rod. Many love it for Chatterbaits as well. Weight-wise, the rod comes in a tad heavy (4.9 oz) like most Dobyns rods (micro guide version weighs a little less). But they balance so well that it's not even noticeable.
  20. I have not handled the Black Bass, so I won't be of much help. What I can tell you is that Sierra 734 is an awesome stick! Can handle pretty much any moving bait, as well as frogs. It comes in micro guides and normal size, so make sure you pay attention and get what you want. I have the micro guides because I don't run a leader on that rod, just straight braid.
  21. Copperstate has 20% off site-wide (Shimano/Daiwa excluded). No code needed. PLUS 20% off gift cards (electronic or physical). Double those up and you have a crazy deal.
