  1. I wish they sold them in smaller bags at least. Being a kayak angler I’m limited to gear and having extra plastics take up valuable space
  2. Thanks for the input! I’m gonna keep them in the Plano. I’m more worried about the baits messing up and less the Plano. I can replace the Plano for $10 but I have over $50 worth of trds currently and don’t want to have to replace all of those
  3. Thank you I appreciate that. I was considering keeping them in very small ziplock bags and in the Plano boxes. It’s not so much opening the bags that bothers me it’s the fact that the trds are so small in such a big bag and they take up unnecessary space. I think I will store them in ziplock bags in the Plano box as long as they don’t melt inside the ziplock bag.
  4. I could see that happening. I’m using a waterproof and those are a lot thicker plastic than non waterproof Planos I was curious about the ZMANs because I’m not sure but I don’t think they have the softener in them like regular plastics. I’m mostly worried about the baits melting or anything from being in there. The box won’t be kept out in the sun but I still just don’t want to ruin all my trd baits. What about storing them in ziplock bags? The main issue is I’m using a ned rig a lot and don’t want to have bags of trds taking up space when they can be in the same box as my jig heads. I can’t fit the actual bags in a waterproof 3600 any way. So what would y’all suggest? Right now I have them in the box out of the original package. I feel like they should be fine. They will be kept in a covered kayak crate (Black Pak) our of the sun.
  5. Okay awesome! It’s brand new and I had planned on using it to store them but didn’t think about them warping before I bought it. I just prefer using the waterproof when I’m on the kayak just Incase something was to happen! Thanks! I had before but I know that the waterproof boxes are a lot thicker plastic then the regular planos so I don’t think I’ll have a problem.
  6. I’m curious if anyone stores ZMAN baits in waterproof Plano boxes. I’m a yak angler and want to put together a box specifically for Ned Rig stuff and I’m gonna use a waterproof Plano box. I’m just curious if anyone does this and has had any problems with them warping? Thanks
  7. That's exactly where we are putting in. I know little about it. I appreciate the info! It's a pretty big tournament and I didn't have time to prefish so the little information will help a lot! Thank you!! All this info will help tremendously! We are launching at Whipponock. I've never even seen the lake and didn't even know it existed till a few months ago. They do have a map on navionics as far as contour goes. I'm not sure how recent it is but I've been studying that to get some idea. There's potentially like $600 in prize money up for grabs so I'd love to take some of it hope. I appreciate the help!

  9. Hey everybody. I have a tournament on Lake Chesdin in VA on Saturday. I need as much info as possible. Never fished it. Water clarity, types of banks, cover, bottom content, baits that worked, even spots. It's a club kayak tournament so keep in mind I can't get too far from the ramp in a good amount of time knowing it's a big lake. Help would be great!!!!!
  10. I'll probably be throwing them a lot this winter. I love cranking and feel like the smaller profile will be a good bait. And I'll definitely be throwing them year round. Thanks for the input!
  11. Hey everyone! I ordered a bunch of 3xds during the Tackle warehouse sale this weekend to try as winter baits. I'm a huge fan of the 5xd and wondered what people's opinions on the 3xd are. I'm a big fan of 'finesse cranking' when the water gets cold with small body crankbaits so wanted to hear some opinions. Also picked up some bandits and I know those will wreck em!!!
  12. Hey everybody. I'm gonna go out to Lake Bradford on the Little Creek naval base on Friday. I could use some advice if anyone has ever fished it. I'm familiar with Lake smith and know it is much like that as far as the layout of the Lake. If anyone has any tips on what to throw or spots please give me some advice!! Thanks!
  13. Hey everyone. I am potentially going to be fishing a tournament at Penniman Lake on Cheatham Annex on the military base in Yorktown VA. I've never been there and don't have a chance to pre-fish. If anyone has any info about the type of Lake it is and the layout I could really use it! Thanks!
  14. I actually just picked up a frog in this color and it is what made me think about this post haha. Yet to catch a fish on it so I was curious when the best times to throw it
  15. I'm pretty sure like many of you one of my favorite types of fishing to do in the summer is frog fishing. I'm curious to see what peoples opinions are on clear or transparent frogs and when and where would be the best times to use them. I just thought this could give some pointers to everyone being that I personally don't know when they should be used!
  16. Thanks! I picked up some of the Luck E Strike Rick Clunn squarebills during the memorial day sale but yet to try them. I'm pretty sure they are just cheaper versions of the Lucky Craft
  17. Not sure if this is the right thread to be posting in but I'm curious. I fish a lot of the suffolk lakes and I'm curious as to what squarebill that people from around here have success on. Cranking is my favorite thing to do and I would love some tips! Thanks!
  18. I'm using a 3/0 ewg. Do you get better hookups with a round bend or is it just preference?
  19. Trick Worms are a huge deal in the lakes I fish. Either on a shakey head or just Texas rigged. I'm curious what people think is the best hook to use when Texas rigging a trick Worm and also what a good shakey head would be.
  20. I want something with a lot of strength. So if I have to put up with the memory for the strength I'll gladly do it. Every time I spoil any reel with like a take a microfiber towel and spray it reel good with line conditioner and as I spool it I hold the line really tight with the towel so it gets the conditioner really well into the line. It makes a huge difference believe it or not.
  21. As of right now I'm leaning towards Izorline XXX. I've used P line before and it has a bit too much memory for my taste.
  22. Thanks for the advice! I also just went and picked up my Medium spinning rod. It's a pretty solid rod. I'm excited to try it out tomorrow. And that's kinda what I've been doing. This is the first year I've been this heavy into bass fishing. Before it was just something I did for fun but now I've started taking it serious and one day I would love the opportunity to go pro so I need to learn now. I don't have that much tackle. But to me it's a lot. I have tons and tons of stick baits, tons of crankbaits which I'm still learning how to use and which different situations I should be using them in and things like that, and also a decent amount of jigs me some odds and end stuff. Lately what I've been doing is picking up a certain bait and not putting it down for the whole day unless it's so slow that the fish only want one thing. I'm trying to put time into learning many different baits and expand from there. I'm a big cranking and wacky rig fan I consider both of those my strong suits and in reality the things I can fish the best. I'm not saying I can't fish other baits but for instance a shaky head is a technique I've yet to catch a fish on. So I'm trying to just go one by one and expand and build.
  23. I've never used anything like that. For droppshotting I usually am using a bottom hopper, trick worm, or sometimes a tiny fluke just to show the bass something different. I've been trying to find new baits to use on a wacky rig because that rig just flat out catches fish no matter what you use with it.
  24. I personally never fish grubs. It's something I need to try. My go to is a wacky rigged senko or bps stik bait or lately I've been wacky rigging trick worms. It just flat out catches fish for me more than anything. I just wanna become more versatile and if the fish are biting a certain thing really well I wanna be able to do that specific thing.
