  1. Im a lowrance guy but this new mega chirp si, is looking very nice. Looking at getting a pair of Helix 10s to sit side by side at the console. How does transducer sharing work? Can I use one mega SI ducer and have the units share it, I want the left unit to show only left SI and the right unit to show only right SI? Do both units need to be mega g2n? Any and all help is greatly appreciated
  2. I know, i waited till the last minute but im Heading to Paris TN end of the week for 5 days. Staying right outside of Paris Landing. Anyone know of any guides and or boat rentals out that way? Last year I got the honor to fish with Rogne Brown on Chickamauga and had an amazing time, would like to do something like that again. Thanks for any suggestions
  3. Frozen bottles of water and a small 12v air bubbler. Once you get your first fish, fill livewell and add a frozen bottle. This will keep the temp 5-10° below lake water temps and slow the metabolism and activity of the fish. You shouldn't have to keep adding water. 2 gatoraid bottles should keep you cool for an 8-10hr tournament, once it gets in 90° air temps I'll carry 4 frozen bottles just in case.
  4. Ordered the Cat Cay with silver lens today. Order has already shipped, should arrive by Wednesday next week.
  5. Travis looks like a young G-man, nice chunks brother
  6. Look up Rogne Brown, he's a guide on Lake Chickamauga. Amazing rates and provides all necessary tackle. He is near Soddy Daisy TN.
  7. OP, How many plotters do you have registered with Insight Genesis? If you have more than one let's take a step back and remove all but console unit. Double check your Serial number and Content ID for console unit and make sure they are identical to what you've input in IG. Detailed instructions here to find serial# and content ID : https://www.google.com/amp/s/insightgenesis.wordpress.com/2015/06/02/how-to-register-your-sonargps-units-to-be-able-to-display-insight-genesis-maps/amp/ If they do not match delete and start over by adding a new plotter. Once you get all that input correctly if need be, go download social map of choice. Extract the 5 files directly to your sd card. Insert sd in the plotters associated with IG. If everything was input into IG plotter info correctly you will get a prompt for loading maps. Are your plotters networked together via ethernet cable? If so you'll only need one copy of the social map as the units will share mapping via ethernet cable. Just use your console unit as the main unit and bow unit as the slave unit.
  8. For casting reels my goto's Top water: 7:1+ or 30+ipt Jerkbaits : 6:1-7:1 or 23-28ipt Cranks <15ft: 6:1-7:1 or 23-28ipt Cranks/Lipless >15ft: 5:1-6:1 or 19-23ipt Spinnerbaits/Swimbaits: 6:1-7:1 or 23-28ipt T-rig/C-rig/FB jigs: 6:1-7:1 or 23-28ipt Flipping/Pitching: 7:1+ 30+ipt I use spinning outfits for 3 techniques Shakeyhead/Ned Rig/Dropshot with 6:1 or 35ipt reel
  9. My Santa's got me good this year. Kastking 24 rod rack, 20 bags of rage tail plastics, couple packs of Zoom brush hogs, 3 new Beast Coast tungsten jigs, Big Daddy's Custom Baits a-rig, couple War Eagle Spinnerbaits, 2 Lew's Tournament MB reels and best of all the new Hydrowave H2 and Rtic 30qt cooler.
  10. Check out Northern Virginia Bass Fishing group on Facebook
  11. I fish club tournaments on a 10hp restricted reservoir. Lots of guys running 1436 even a 1236. 1436 is 14ft length and 36" bottom width. Most have 48" or wider beams(between the gunwales). I personally built an Alumacraft 1442 NCS and it fishes wonderful with 2 guys and full tournament gear and full livewell.
  12. Reaction Strike chunky shad
  13. The comparable warranty offered by g.Loomis is more expensive than that of Dobyns and you don't have the luxury of taking it to your local dealer and getting your rod replaced. http://www.gloomis.com/content/g-loomis/us/en/home/fly-fish/support/xpeditor-program-details.html I'd take a better look into the warranties offered from each manufacturer and you will clearly see Dobyns offers one of the most reasonable no questions asked warranty program.
  14. Contact Dobyns. I just had a champion 703sf break right below the 3rd eyelet from the tip. I took it to a local dealer to exchange in person ($70 no questions warranty), they didn't have any 703sf instock. Ended up paying the difference and upgraded to the extreme hp 703sf. Dobyns has one of the best if not the best customer service in the fishing industry. I would upgrade that Fury series to a Sierra series 704c or 734c. Much better blank and components. Little lighter but alot more sensitive Personally I prefer the Fury series for non bottom contact baits, Champion series for cranks/jerkbaits and Extreme series for bottom contact baits (jigs worms shakeyheads).
