  1. Thats a Shad Teez. I have a few of them, nice baits, you can find them on ebay, just search for Westin Shad Teez.
  2. Yep.... that´s the kind of stuff we have to deal with! Unfortunaly, and i can´t imagine why, buying fishing equipment is not considered a medical expense, because if it was it would be only 6%... and now tell me... is there anything better for your mental health than going fishing?
  3. I live in Portalegre: Wich is the district capital of Norte Alentejo: Wich is a region of Portugal: Wich is the Southern country in Europe, therefore, the one closest to you yankees: Can´t be more specific than this... y´all invited to show up... just bring plenty of beer!
  4. It depends if you´re a righty or a lefty! If you´re a righty theres lots of options out there... it´s just a matter of you chosing the one that you like the most. I´m a left hand retrieve guy... i use two Abu Garcia Revo Winchs, 1 Gen 1 (the blue one) and one Gen 2 (the black one), and one Lews BB1. The BB1 and Gen 2 Revo Winch are the better casters, the Gen 1 Revo Winch it´s, by far, the most smooth and refined... i like all three but if i have to choose only one it would be the Gen two revo... i feel it to be the better reel all things considered...
  5. Arrived home yesterday from an well needed two weeks vacation, today i went to my brother house, who was kind enough to receive it for me, to pick up my new E6X SWB 884C. Paired with my 5.1:1 BB1 makes a really nice combo for smaller swimbaits and heavy cranks: Now it´s ready to go it the water for the first time... maybe this sunday!
  6. That must have been all kinds of fun!
  7. Zoom Ol Monster in junebug...
  8. One photo with the Portuguese President on a tournament this Saturday...
  9. She was a beauty...
  10. I would never kiss a bass.... at least without taking it to a nice restaurant and a movie first! Call me romantic and old fashioned if you want...
  11. I have one Shimano Terez Siluros that i use for big baits, it´s a rod specialy designed by Shimano to fish for Wels Catfish with lures, the rod is awesome, light (for the type of rod that it is), cast baits up to 5oz with no problem and have a nice moderate fast action... now, i have absolutely no ideia if it´s available to the American market, but just to show you that there are options out there of fresh water big baits spinning rods...
  12. Just placed an order for one Loomis E6X SWB 884C, it´s going to be my new small swimbaits/heavy cranks rod...
  13. I can confirm this... one of them landed in the wind shield of my truck, expect a bill coming your way!
  14. I have one, and although i use it more for finesse aplications (small jerks, topwaters, t-rigs and finesse jigs) that is more due to is excelente performance in casting those small weights. I´ve used it in a few ocasions for heavier aplications (heavier jigs like you plan to use it and also topwater frogs) and it was all fine, did not feel it to be underpowered at all. Dont let its small size and low weight fool you... it´s a little powerhouse of a reel...
  15. Had a fun day on the water this Sunday, no big ones unfortunately but lots and lots of small to medium sized ones. All caught fishing deep diving cranks (Rapalas DT20 and Killer Kraft Deep Monsters 800) offshore...
  16. Yes, they are a native species in Portugal.
  17. Rage Craw and Zoom Z Craw.
  18. It´s not my favorite action for pikes, my designated pike rods are all moderate and moderate fast action but again... you should be fine, just use your drag to compensate if necessary. For example, i caught this one earlier this year on my Loomis E6X 812C SBR wich is a 6.9" Medium Extra fast action, paired with an Aldebaran 51 HG: But again, with a Heavy rod you´re fine, just use your drag and work the fish right if necessary.
  19. Absolutely! I´ve caught many big pikes while bass fishing with medium and medium heavy rods... just make sure that the rod can handle the weight of the lures that you are planing to use.
  20. One of those new Curados is defenitly coming home with me! The Chronarch i think i´ll pass it for now (same for the Mgl), my two Ci4+ are still going strong...
  21. A good 70% of the time i´ll fish them on a split shot rig! The rest of the time i fish them t-rigged, weightless and, sometimes, i fish them on a jig head if i want to do a little bit of vertical jigging...
  22. Oh but believe me... they are! And, pound for pound, probably the best fighting fish we have on our waters. The fight doesn´t last very long, but, while it lasts, it´s like you´re hooked to a torpedo...
  23. Today i went, just for a quick one hour session, to a little lake near my house... the only captures where one tiny Bass and one nice Barbel, both on a Zoom Super Fluke Jr....
  24. For that kind of use i really like my Loomis IMX 843C MBR. I use it for allmost everything, T-rigs, small jigs, topwaters, Lipless cranks etc etc... it haves a good backbone, the tip is not to stiff and it´s very sensitive, all said and done... a really nice rod!
  25. I, no mather what time of the year or body of water i´m fishing, allways have one rod with a texas rigged craw on the boat! These are my chosen six: From left to right: -Rage tail Lobster -Rage tail Craw -Zoom Z Craw -Zoom Super Speed Craw -Zoom UV Speed Craw -Yum Craw Papi
