  1. Berkeley pitbull 5.5 for me. I find it runs that perfect tricky depth between shallow and mid range that most other cranks seem to ignore.
  2. Ask and you shall receive: https://m.dickssportinggoods.com/p/pflueger-president-spinning-combo-15pflupflprs2spn2com/15pflupflprs2spn2com go with the 6'6" if you need a two piece, otherwise I'd go with the 7'0"
  3. Look on the bright side, now you have a two piece!
  4. Zman's chatterbait has got to be considered famous by now. Bladed jigs have been around forever, but far and away the most common is the original chatterbait.
  5. DSG has a "Cyber Monday In July" sale tomorrow online only. 20% off everything I believe.
  6. Anyone have any luck up North lately? Specifically on Wawasee or the surrounding lakes?
  7. Back up to $113? I was gonna pull the trigger but not anymore.
  8. DSG has buy one get one 50% off all lures excluding megabass
  9. Academy has the Lew's Tournament MB's for $104.98! Only available in the right hand 6.8:1 gear ratio though.
  10. That's a real bucket mouth if I've ever seen one. Maybe I'll have to try the Movement 80x out. What color were you throwing?
  11. 20% off BioSpawn with code MEMDAY20
  12. I find the frozen dinosaur shaped nuggets work the best, but to each his own.
  13. Sorry, misread the ad. I knew it sounded too good to be true...
  14. DSG also has Keitechs and Z man chatterbaits buy one get one
  15. Just got news that all Gander Mountains are closing nationwide. Have to imagine there will be some killer deals to be had with the going out of business sales, so I figured I'd go ahead and make a thread for everyone to post their local findings. I for one will be heading to the nearest Gander Mountain on Sunday to scope it out.
  16. Never used Spike It before as I have been a long time JJ's man. These markers sound way more convenient though, I'll have to give them a try. Thanks for the tip!
  17. White fluke hand painted in JJ's Magic to a sexy shad pattern. Bass can't seem to resist it, and I find it fun coloring the lures myself.
  18. Already posted on the latest deals thread...
  19. I always tend to go for the more expensive rod that is on sale. The Vendetta is a $80 rod being sold for $80, while the Veritas is a $100 rod being sold for $70. While the Veritas does have somewhat of a reputation for having bad guides, many people swear by them.
  20. Also, is it too early to start the talks for upcoming memorial day sales? I can already feel the bait monkey lurking...
  21. Thought I would give everyone an update on what I decided to finally purchase. With Abu Garcia currently having a summer sale I decided to purchase: 7'6" MH Fast Action Veritas 2.0 Casting Rod- $32 Abu Garcia Reno STX Low Profile- $80 In total I spent $112 dollars on this entire setup, and figured it would be a great starter setup for the price. I was hesitant to purchase the rod so long, but 7'6" was all they had left.
  22. Ordered 10 bags of various colored power worms and 6 bags of chigger craws about a week and a half ago. Received 4 different packages from DSG, the final one came yesterday. I was really impressed how they kept track of all the packages, although to me it seems somewhat wasteful. Also, one of the packages shipped directly from Pure Fishing, not from DSG.
  23. Thanks for your responses guys! Also, I was wondering if anyone knew of some good sales coming up from various online retailers that I could possibly take advantage of.
  24. Long time lurker on the forums here, and finally decided to officially join the community! With that said, I'm looking to purchase my first baitcasting combo after spending 4+ years on cheap spinning gear. The majority of fishing I do is weighted Texas rigs, jigs, Carolina rigs, Spinnerbaits, Buzzbaits, and the occasional jerk bait or shallow crankbait. I fish in primarily clear water, and would say I tend to fish large quantities of smaller bass rather than reeling in big hogs. Being a teenager and all, I'm looking for one rod and reel to satisfy all my fishing needs without breaking the bank. Given that the money will come out of my (shallow) pockets, my max budget is around $200. I think I'm looking for a 6'-8" or 7' MH or M Fast rod and a 7.1:1 GR left handed reel. However, others expertise is welcomed. A couple of rods and reels around my price range I have been looking are: Rods Fenwick Aetos (earlier generation) 7' Med Hvy Extra Fast Action- $100 Falcon BuCoo SR 7' Med Hvy Moderate Fast Action-$100 Lew's TP1 Speed Stick Med Hvy Fast Action-$85 Duckett Ghost 7' Med Hvy Fast Action-$100 Dobyn's Fury Med Hvy Fast Action-$110 Daiwa Tatula 7'-1" Med Hvy Extra Fast Action-$100 ohman blak too 7'1" Med Fast Action-$110 Abu Garica 7' Med Fast Action-$70 Reels Daiwa Tatula CT-$100 Lew's Speed Spool LFS-$80 Lew's Tournament MB-$110 Used konkept A-$??? Any reviews on the equipment above are welcomed! Also, would love to know about favorites of yours in this price range that I may have skipped over. Currently thinking I'm gonna end up going with the Aetos and LFS, but I am unsure about the extra fast action and the Tatula is enticing for only $20 more. With so much stuff on the market, I'm having a hard time on grasping exactly what is best for me. Thanks in advance for your response.
