  1. I figured it would be. I wish I could post video I took of the dam when the water was at almost 400’. The bridge was vibrating. I’ve never seen anything like it. Maybe it will have cleared up by the time I make it down to the big G.
  2. If you’re located anywhere around the Southeast, you know we have recently had severe flooding. I’m located in West TN and was told the water is still receding at Pickwick. I’m two years into this sport, so I’m still green and looking for advice. I have a short vacation in two weeks. The initial plan was to haul the boat to Guntersville and fish for a day, then drop the boat and head on down to Florida. I just hate to drive my truck (gas mileage) and boat if the fishing is going to be terrible. Any idea what it may be like after this weather? To be completely honest, I’m not real sure how bad Gville got hit. Depending on water temp, the plan was to target secondary points and go from there. Also, if you have any good links to fishing reports down there, that would be greatly appreciated. Thanks for the help in advance. Also, if anyone local would ever like to meet up, I’d love to have some expert guidance on the big water.
  3. I had to sign in just to reply to this. I am a certified scuba diver. I can tell you that thermoclines exist and they can separate muddy/stained water from clear. The first time I ever experienced this was in a quarry and I will never forget it. The water was so muddy, I couldn’t see my hand in my face. As I kept descending, I could feel an extreme temperature change in the water. It went from warm to 60 degrees and out of nowhere you could see straight to the bottom, 100 feet down. It was unbelievable. That being said, I am sure they are numerous factors in play that will affect this.
  4. I just fish them like every other worm. Sometimes they get more bites, sometimes they don’t. You can also use them as a jig trailer. One of my best days on the water was using one on a Carolina rig. I also wouldn’t use braided line. I typically used 10-15 lb fluorocarbon.
  5. Thank you for the quick reply!
  6. Hey guys, I am in the market for a bass boat. I am no expert on the boat market, so I figured I would ask the pros. I have a guy wanting to sell me his 1999 Skeeter ZX 202c. It’s a 22 foot boat, tandem axle trailer, Yamaha VMAX 200hp, some kind of fancy charging system, hydraulic steering, new tires on the trailer, Minn Kota trolling motor, two fish finders and is pretty good shape overall. Runs great and he says he has only had non ethanol gas in it. He he is asking $9000 for it. Any idea if this is a good deal or worth the investment? Anything I should look for in particular. Thanks in advance for the input!
