  1. This is a great forum, glad it is working for you !
  2. Stop hating and come on down, the water is warm and the bass are BIG!
  3. I second this, our Gander rocks, most of the associates I have dealt with are courtesy and know their departments well and are genuine outdoors men/women! The problem with ours is that it reorganizes its store layout too often and has my head spinning trying to look for where things "should be" according to departments, but I am sure some corporate customer flow egg head authorizes it for some objective reason, but I personally find it frustrating. I also like our local BPS its also great! As far as brick and mortar going the way of the dinosaur, I don't think so! Yes prices at local retailers will be significantly higher, but it reflects the convenience of the experience! If I am bargain shopping I will visit gun broker, ebay, the classifieds here, etailers, but if it is a last second purchase, apparel, or a genuine sale is going on at Gander or BPS then I will go and spend money!
  4. Great review, for a great line!
  5. Gotta LOVE the LAKE! Nice outing!!
  6. If SFWMD and Army Corps of Engineers are angler friendly they will at least not pump it down to below 13.25", but they can screw up a hookset on a fish that swallowed the hook... My favorite level is right at 13.25-13.75, its 13.38 now so I am happy, got to get out there soon to my secret after the rains spot!
  7. Yes, that place is great, some BIG Peacock Bass there to!
  8. Tell us how the trip went! Doug, I am dying to get to the PITS, maybe this week.
  9. bang for buck=Walmart everstart marine maxx Top of line = odyssey or sears die hard platinum AGMs (same batteries) Money no object=lithionics (more power, much lighter, faster boat, big bucks $900-$1200 each)
  10. Great article, let the hunting begin!
  11. Thanks all, nothing like the pride of fatherhood! The little booger is smart, he figured out the connections (wiring harness) on his own since I didn't cover it. Hopefully he has his grandpa's mechanical mindset in the long run, need a good mechanic around, lol.
  12. Good article, can't wait to try his recommended 321 lube!
  13. Sorry if I misled some of you its not actually a physical chip as it use to be done, its a reprogram of the ECU done via the diagnostic port. As far as warranty goes, yes a modified ECU program or physical chip will VOID THE WARRANTY, as a safe guard the software mapping programs tuners usually use capture the ECU stock program and saves it prior to modifying program for different variables or you can purchase another stock/factory ECU if using a chipped one, but with the mapping software it is a thing of the past. I have had all my vehicles since the early 90s (Superchared T-Bird, Jetta 1.8 T, Nissan Frontier 4.0L and now the Ecoboost) modified via chip or ECU reprogramming and never experienced a problem with the factory warranty not being honored. I am willing to pay the price of a voided warranty though for the extra enjoyment of tweaking, but that is just me. Thanks all for the compliments! Dwight when are we going to race, you know there is a motor sports park right on the Beeline when you get down
  14. LOL, trust me its not the handles.
  15. Are you familiar with the 3.5L twin turbo charged platform? Its not even close to the base V-6, take at look around the internet regarding the engine. Its a beast, beating out all but Ford's 6.2L, performance wise. Here is an article for you: http://www.thedetroi...-with-ecoboost/ No offense, but have you actually seen dyno results from said additions? My buddy runs a speed shop here locally and the gains are about 60-75 WHP and up to 90 WTQ with all three and less with just one, I agree the CAI performance gains are debatable, but the cat back exhaust and custom tune will in my opinion and that of others that have worked on the engine seem to not only improve speed, but towing and fuel economy. Hearthrob Exhaust, for ecoboost. Here take a listen, turn the speakers and bass up and tell me what you think, does that six cylinder sound ridiculous as you stated? Thanks for the compliment on truck, though !
  16. Been searching for a bigger truck for a bit, wife and I wanted to go from 3 to 2 vehicles so traded in my trusty Nissan Frontier and her aging Saab for this beast, that Ecoboost engine is the real deal! Going to put a cold air intake, catback exhaust, and possibly chip it to make it a sleeper , Problem is she is liking it more then our 2nd vehicle!
  17. Where'd you run off to?
  18. Was out doing a little boat prep before fishing this weekend and Adam decided to join the fun, I figured I would make it educational for him so I explained to him the components seconds before turning on the phone camera to record the little creature and get a laugh out of the family. My favorite part is when he finds the wiring harness and calls them KON-EX-TIONS. Click pic for video.
  19. I guess I am in the same club, Adam is headed out early tomorrow for his first day at a new school, but he is going full time Pre K 3-4 so let us see how it goes. The first week or two is always rough though.
  20. Exactly, with Brady and Rogers significantly ahead of Brees
  21. Nice story, thanks for sharing. Dwight while reading the article I thought of you and didn't realize you posted the pic shortly after, figures you'd already caught the one in a million pike , how long did it measure? Also, don't let them pick on your hat, its keeps the sun off your face and back of your neck
  22. Nope shimano Torium for tuna and penn bait-runner for tarpon
  23. Sam your post had me laughing solo! So from the advice gathered here: 1. She needs to be in her mid to late 20s 2. Very good looking (36" 24" 37") 5'11" fill in what you like__ 3. Lots of money or at least more than groom 4. She likes to share the money 5. AND LIKES TO FISH I guess one for 5 isn't bad
  24. Are you repowering it?
