  1. LB- anything over 10lbs, want a teener before I die though, after 65 I guess I will start using live bait. SM-anything over 7lb, hope to catch an 8 with Dwight
  2. Try asking what Bob Lusk's opinion is I know he has posted before and answered some management questions for me.
  3. North, don't go north there are no fish up here, everyone just stay South on the Lake, nothing to see....
  4. LOL. Let me suggest a Daiwa then, I am not brand loyal, in fact I have Daiwas, Shimano, Abu's, Penn, Quantum and Okumas. From my experience for modern reels its tough to beat Shimano and Daiwa I have had very little if no issues with them compared to other brands and this goes back about 20 years.
  5. I returned 3 in a row on the first generation series. About to sell my Premier since if not constantly lubed it loses casting distance dramatically, I only like the Skeet Reese series for some reason it has no issues compared to the rest of the line in my case.
  6. When your down I can suggest some areas

  8. Today Mike and I went out and it was HAWG heaven, we could do no wrong. 3 to 4lbers were annoying to catch, cause they kept getting in the way of bertha!
  9. Mike and I went this morning for a little BIG hawg roundup!
  10. Nice fish, that is one to remember! I almost did that in Stick Marsh once, almost.....
  11. Dwight, Nice fish! Wouldn't expect anything less.
  12. I notice FC in lighter leaders (less than 20lbs test) materials, as Dwight bluntly put it, suck! I will only use 25# or above for leader material, for example for t-rigging I use 50-65 braid tied uni to uni to FC leader and use a Palomar knot to hook/lure eye. Also try leader material is different the casting line, it has more abrasion resistance.
  13. Hey fat_ss when are we going fishing, so I can cast that sweet Dobyns setup you have for some monsters instead of a dink fest like last time?
  14. The man when it comes to offshore Captain Bouncer Smith, snakeheads as Mike said is Shane. Shoot us a PM maybe we can coordinate a trip to the refuge while you are down.
  15. I use trick worms on them because of the high floatation. I like using them around bridges and verticle structure such as water control structures. I do very well with them when I use them.
  16. Man that is awful, some knuckle-head left a Home Depot cart butted up against the passenger side of my nice BLACK F-150, needless to say it dinged my passenger side a bit, but I was able to buff most of it out. You don't have any jealous Xs running around do you...LOL...
  17. Nice outing Bruce! Wonder when I should start fishing some of these tournaments?
  18. Gotta LOVE that topwater bite! Here are some suggestions: 1. http://www.columbia.com/Men%27s-Skiff-Guide-III%E2%84%A2-Long-Sleeve-Shirt/FM6021,default,pd.html 2. http://www.buffusa.com/sports/collections/filter/fishing LOL
  19. I smoke cigars about 2-3 times a month I like various types, here are some that are in my humidor next to my desk: Rocky Patels, Don Tomas, Partagas, Nat Sherman During duck season they are great at keeping the bugs off you while in the blind, especially down here.
  20. Unfortunately, the area we are hunting in the Storm Treatment Areas (STAs) are not setup for fishing, but they are a birders/hunters paradise.
  21. Mostly blue wing, but yes we have green wing, I manage to get about 4 greenies a year.
  22. Took my buddy's teenaged son, Chase, out for a little Teal hunting and had my limit by 7:30, was set up at 7:10!
  23. I shoot a Mathews, but grew up shooting Hoyt, both are good, shoot both back to back and see what you like. Most of today's bows are technological marvels and most shooters can't do their bow justice.
  24. Just got back from Cordoba, Argentina from a 4 day dove hunt and my buddy, Justin, said the robalo bite has been insane on an outgoing tide. So I decide to head out last night to catch the slack tide to outgoing transition and ended up catching this beauty. I was using a Yo-Zuri Sashimi Jerkbait using my Hawg Handled Pluton on a Star Rod Plasma series rod, using 40 lb Yo Zuri flouro on 30 lb braid.
  25. I can't wait for our local dove, it starts the first weekend of October here.
