  1. Just pay the guy or better yet make a $1 million dollar charitable contribution to the gentleman's charity of choice.
  2. No, its an efficient method to cover water
  3. Bob Lusk is your man I think he post on here occasionally! http://www.bobluskoutdoors.com/
  4. I was out on the Lake this Sunday and did pretty well, caught about 20 fish combined with my partner, Brett, largest went about 4lbs and was caught on a Spinnerbait on an outside grass edge. The majority of the fish were caught from Sunrise until about 9 AM then we decided to head to the rim ditch since the wind was blowing some rollers in and rocking the boat too much, plus it was HOT. Ended up catching another 5 or so using T-rigs along the canal bank with overhanging holly trees, in 3-8 feet of water. The bite maybe slow, but I believe if you get out early you can catch the active bass, after that its a slow methodical presentation or deep presentation w/ crank-baits where schools of bait are known to be. You can always go Snook fishing along the beach in the early morning or late evening when high tide at or close to peak! I personally like Summertime fishing, since it keeps the weak of heart, body and soul off the water, and you can be done before 10 AM!
  5. Seems like last year when you were aboard I was a large-mouth wimp.
  6. I second that, you hit an submerged object. I am running over rock reefs around Pahokee, ask Mike, and not hitting anything. LOL
  7. Man I am with you, its ironic that 2-3 years ago we were at record lows and now we are almost too high, if we can keep it under 16 I think we will be good, I really like that 12-14' level for fishing and duck hunting!
  8. If you want something a little different that takes great pictures and has a bit of a following take a look at the Pentax K-Series. They are great bang for the buck and can hang with the Nikons and Cannons.
  9. I doubt it. I had peacocks in my backyard system prior to the extremely cold winter 3-4 years ago that also impacted the local snook fishery so badly that the closed the season.
  10. I have reached the level that I appreciate being able to get away and fish regardless of outcome, since trips at least turn into learning experiences. My favorite thing to do now is get others on the fish and share in the moment with them, fishing is such a pure and fun sport it bonds all of us regardless of whether you are shore fisherman or the guy with the late model bass boat, its all fun and this forum is here to help enhance the experience.
  11. Thanks for the kind words, it comes from having other eyes and ears on the water we fish that are willing to share information and getting out OFTEN. As far, as the golf course that had the best fishing EVER, no I no longer have access to the property since owner sold it. Top dogs may not necessarily be in money tournaments, lol. I know of plenty of guys that are too busy with life or guiding that they don't have time to enter in tournaments and can teach the tournament pros a thing or two. Nevertheless, it always amazes me how the top FLW and Bassmaster perform when they come.
  12. Biggest came from Okeechobee, on a Spro popping frog. Most of the other fish were caught on either skinny dipper type baits and one came of a t-rig if I recall correctly.
  13. I didn't measure any of these, but here are my pics for the month, so I could not "officially be the Ninja", but you guys take a look and tell me what you think, lol! Biggest five went 7 1/2, 6 3/4, 6, 5 1/2, followed by a bunch in the low five range. All throughout the month.
  14. Went out again this Thursday for some Snook fishing, ended up catching 5 total in about 1 hour with the two biggest pictured. All on artificial lures, LIVE BAIT IS FOR CHEATERS, lol!
  15. Going to give it a shot tonight for Mr. Snook and hopefully they will cooperate!
  16. Mmmm bacon covered reel handles
  17. Perfect time for the overused term "It is what it is!" So if anyone is interested in a fully machined "not machined from a casting" here are some modern alternatives http://www.vanstaal.com/VM150_reels.htm http://www.pennreels.com/products/reels/spinning-reels/torque http://www.accuratefishing.com/products/twinspin/twinspin_index.php
  18. Evers or Roland Martin, as far as fishing history goes, one is in the fishing hall of fame the other isn't! So if it were based on some type of potential monetary or historical value in the long run I would go with Martin and I bet Evers would too! As far as personality and judgment of character that is a tough call and it is up to the individual to decide.
  19. Hope you have fun at iCast this year Glenn, Mike and I will not be attending this year, but hope to see you next year in Orlando.
  20. Nice pics! We mostly have teal, mottled ducks, blue bills, and a few widgeon, shovelers, pintail every once in a while scattered throughout.
  21. Your new name should be Destroyer415! Great man, I can wait for duck hunting season, post some pics!
  22. I have tried and tried many times to give Abu Revo baitcasters a chance and all but the Skeet Reese series have disappointed me from premature bearing failure, to guide inserts falling out, to bad worm gears, or winding sounds when casting. Nevertheless, the do have good customer support so you can probably replace it and sell it in the flea market when they give you a new reel back and go buy a Shimano or Daiwa!
  23. About 2 years ago, I ruptured my L5 disc and had a severely bulged L4 disc. I understand where you are coming from, I was basically not ambulatory and could not stand upright for 3 weeks with the spasms and pain being so severe. It was so bad that my mom and dad had to come take care of me and help out with my son until I was able to get an epidural. So i recommend you get a second opinion and see a doctor that can perform an CT fluoroscopy epidural to make sure he gets the medicine where it needs to go to relieve your pain. As far as pain meds, they only take the edge off and they didn't work for me at all.
  24. So if you weigh about 160lbs and grew 1/2 to 1lb year, then you would be about 213 in fish years, those fish have nothing on you buddy. Great catch, and glad you could salvage the trip!
