  1. Hey gang....I have my waypoints saved as a usr file...thats the format they were exported in on an HDS...I dont have the HDS unit anymore and Im trying to load my waypoints onto a hook unit. When I try to load them I get a message saying my software doesnt support the file....I have already updated my hook unit to the latest sw... I heard the hook can read files that are usr3... How do I covert my file? I tried using GPSBabel but Im not having any luck.
  2. This season we lost a couple of boaters due to their personal reasons. Our club is super laid back... Dues are only $10 a month, no tournament fees unless you join $10 big fish. Check us out and email me if you have any questions. mdguz35@gmail.com Fuquay Bass Club

We're now short boaters. Club is super laid back... Dues are $10 a month and thats it.... No tournament fees unless you want to participate in $10 big fish. I can answer more questions if you want to email me. M D G uz35@@@gmail.com ....take out the spaces....just trying to avoid spam.
  4. Hi Everyone, I fish with Fuquay Bass Club. http://www.fuquaybassclub.com/ . We're looking for a couple of boaters to join the club. Had a couple of guys sell their boat over the winter and could use a couple of boaters. Club is pretty laid back....Dues are $10 a month and no additional fees unless you contribute to big fish which is normally $10... If you're interested in joining DM me and I can give you more info.
  5. Which additives particularly? Quickleen?
  6. What would you suggest as being the best option? I don't mind spending more money to prolong the life of my motor.
  7. Were you using the DFI synthetic?
  8. Hi All, A couple of months ago I purchased a used 2010 TR-18 pro w/ 150 optimax. I recently had to add some oil and it was recommended to me to use Pennzoil Premium Plus... I know another guy who had a mercury optimax but he had the pro xs.... anyway he uses Mercury DFI oil... is it worth it? It's a little more than twice as much. I noticed after I added the Pennzoil my next trip out I was getting some smoking out of the motor. Is that normal? I had the boat out a few times prior and I don't recall smoke coming off the motor...I will say the smoke was in the morning. I know thats common on some outboards. I just never recognized it coming out of mine. So 2 questions. 1. DFI oil worth it? If so, can I start to use it by just adding some now and eventually move over to just dfi. 2. Has anyone else had issues with the pennzoil premium plus causing your outboard to smoke? TIA
  9. First off congrats...I was in your shoes this year as well.... searched, searched and searched...glad you found something. As far as the transom saver goes I have a Rite-Hite and it seems to work well. The red clips will also keep your motor from moving. https://www.amazon.com/RITE-HITE-Motor-Holder-Stabilizes-Effectively/dp/B01LE77D7A/ref=sr_1_4?ie=UTF8&qid=1508525471&sr=8-4&keywords=transom+saver
  10. Im not totally sure. I havent had the boat out since last weekend. The issue I was seeing was the bow (elite 7) was either flashing zero or when it wasn't flashing it would ready something like 15' and the console would read something like 6'...I did stick my rod down in the water to get a better feel of the depth and the console was closer. The units came with the boat when I boat it. I think the elite 7 is the low end one and may just be garbage.
  11. I've only had this boat for about 6 weeks. I noticed the past couple of times that my depth readings are way off from the helm and console. I actually don't think any of them are accurate. I did notice that the transducer on the trolling motor can easily move off parallel. I've attempted to tight that up. I then looked at the back and kind of the same issue but one other thing I noticed. (not sure why I didn't notice this when I was buying it)... the transducer on the back was not installed totally level. It looks like someone replaced the transducer or the whole unit and where the old transducer was they used one hole and then made another whole under the old screw... I know this may be hard to visualize but I dont have a pic right now. So my question is. 1. Should I try to level out the transducer in the rear? If I do whats the best way to fill up the old holes? 2. I have a brand new hook 5 and hook 7 I could have installed to replace the older units. I forgot to mention the older units are elite 7xHDI up front and elite 5 chirp at console. As an example of the depth differences I was out this weekend and Im up front and I see 15ft...the guy fishing with me sees 6 ft at the console. Also some times the 7 up front would just flash zero...
  12. I did teach him how to use the trolling motor yesterday after this incident. Most lakes around here are VERY shallow at the ramp ...its extremely easy to totally mess up your prop etc.
  13. Yeah it was probably more my fault.. Well he's 12 and I barely trust him riding his bike...I am teaching him how to work the trolling motor... Anyway I thought you guys would get a kick out of this. We've all had our moments at the ramp.
  14. Lucky enough someone was putting in right after me and he helped us out.
  15. Happy Monday Y'all Thought you guys may get a kick out of this..... Told my son to hold the rope tight when I was putting the boat in...well I guess he now knows what I mean by the word tight.
