I love mine.......I have it so decked out now I can't envision changing anytime soon. I may have to do a video of the setup in the early spring when I take it down and reattach everything for the season.

Thankfully I ordered my 127 last February and got it within a week...........a couple weeks later and they were nowhere to be found.

A friend of mine has two SS127's he bought for him and his wife. His wife used it one time so he sold it after having it a year. He sold it for $50 under retail and had tons of people want it.....supply and demand.

That's why once I find a brand and model I like I tend to stay with the different actions within that model. Then I know what I'm getting.

I was a diehard Lew's guy, then I bought a Tatula SV TW, loved it.....The Elite is a touch above it and now have a few of those. I can cast them further than I'd really ever need to.

I tend to fish moderate to fast. I love using jigs, so I guess you can say I love fishing "Jig" slow, but I HATE fishing dropshot slow.......lol

I'd also suggest you get a kayak that is comfortable to sit in. I have a buddy that's about 6-3 225 who saw the great fishing fun I was having in my kayak. He bought some tiny little thing with an uncomfortable seat. The first time he took it out I looked at him in it and told him he wouldn't like it. One month later he bought a bigger, nicer, more comfortable kayak. You didn't say what your budget is but I'd also look for used. Once stock in new kayaks catches up with demand the prices of used will drop.

This past summer I helped two guys recover their gear that was floating around in 30 feet of water after they flipped. Most of their stuff was on the bottom. They HAD been in an eight foot jon boat with a trolling motor, tooling around, walking around in the boat while it was moving, that thing was rocking back and forth all morning and to my amazement hadn't flipped already.. Both guys were well over 200 pounds. I at least have to give them credit for having PFD's in the boat although not on until they hit the water and found them.

My PR was caught in May, my biggest are usually caught in May. The two biggest of this year were caught in November which is probably my second best month every year.

I use the double uni... With a little practice I can tie it quickly and haven't had issues with failure.

Had a 7 inch, upgraded to a 9 inch, not to big for a kayak and certainly not overkill.

I can only speak of the pod for a Bonafide SS127........I've read so many posts on FB forums that you need to have a two inch spacer between the pod and transducer to get SI to work. I also read a bunch that said you didn't. I didn't and the transducer ends up being less than 1/4 inch higher than the two keels running along either side but those keels are also a few inches out to the side of the transducer. I want it that way as I fish a lot of places where I go through a few inches of water between main bodies as well as a lot of places with submerged and semi-submerged stumps so want that protection. It was explained to me that the SI doesn't shoot straight out the sides but at a downward angle. By my calculations that beam is running fine and is not blocked by the keel. My experience on the water shows that. Just to be sure a friend of mine has the exact same unit. He runs his on an arm since his kayak doesn't have a pod. When we are side be side we get the same picture and same quality. I have people online tell me this isn't possible.......lol I tell them to mount theirs in whatever way they feel is required.

Either a Megabass Orochi XX Braillist or Tour Versatile....paired with a Daiwa Tatula Elite with a 7.x gear ratio. 30 lb braid, with or without a short mono leader..........your choice.

Four pound braid SCREAMS "wind knots" to me. I'd be using heavier braid with a leader......and I usually don't like leaders.

In all honesty I've tried many different paddletails to try and find less costly alternatives, they either end up being softer, harder, too much action, none to little action..........etc. All my paddletails are Keitech now. I gave up......lol

Since I live in Illinois I'd have to go to a southern state, catch a huge bass, keep it alive and transport it to Illinois, attach my lure to it again, put it in the water and pull it out............ Anyone on here from Illinois will know what I'm talking about.

Sungill and Tennessee shad are my two that I use probably 90% of the time.

This year it was with a lipless crank in about 18 feet of water bouncing it just off the bottom.

I love mine. I have the 93sv UHD with the GT54 transducer. I'm eyeing the GT56 transducer though. I was looking at this or the Lowrance but the touchscreen and smaller transducer were the final factors. Of course if I get the 56 the transducer size will go out the window. LOL

I've got the touchscreen on my Bonafide SS127 and use it a lot. I have the four presets set to my favorites but usually only switch which view I'm using depending on the lake. The only issue I've had with the touch screen is when I'm in the menu system and going through choices and adjustments quickly sometimes the system pauses while it catches up to me.

I have Orochi XX's in both Braillist and Diablo SpecR'. I used to use a Braillist for bottom contact jigs as well as swim jigs and chatterbaits. I now use a SpecR for the swim jigs and chatterbaits and prefer it. It's got a little softer tip which I prefer for the moving baits yet it still has the backbone and action for those big single hook sets.
