I fish for lmb using a 2-3" live bluegill & a conventional 2" round plastic spring loaded red/white bobber. Twice while reeling in a fish the bobber fell off the line. I normally wind the line twice around the top & bottom spring area of the bobber. Should i use a better quality bobber? Maybe a different bobber & technique should be used?
When the cheap walmart shoes get water inside them the insides get mildew & fall apart. Mildew is basically "rot". It starts smelling & eventually will cause infection on one's feet. I don't want to economize on foot health to save a few dollars. I'd rather spend extra money & buy appropriate shoes than make an appointment with a foot doctor.
I bank fish & wear cheap walmart tennis shoes. Many times i inadvertently step in the water & ruin my shoes. I wear the shoes mainly to protect my feet from ants & other insects. Any recommendations for waterproof shoes that do not have any holes or other openings? I do not want boots.
I'm new at drop shot fishing. I've watched various youtube videos explaining drop shot rigging. Not everybody uses the same techniques. My question is, am i required to use a specific "drop shot hook & weight"? Couldn't i use any #1 hook & any type of weight as long as it's between 1/4-3/8 oz. weight?
I bank fish for large mouth bass using a spinning rod/reel combination. I'm presently using #10 mono line. What would be the advantages/disadvantages if i were to change over to #10 braid line?
I've read that some people apply glue onto their knot on the hook, lure etc. Does this actually strengthen the knot? Does it matter if it's mono or braid line? What type/brand glue is used? How long do you let it dry for?
A man by the name of "Alan Hawke" has a site, http://www.alanhawk.com/reviews/lists.html where he evaluates various spinning reels. He claims he has disassembled all the reels mentioned above. His main interest/concern is quality & reliability when purchasing a spinning reel. Are there members of this forum that agree or disagree with his findings? Are there other individuals who have taken spinning reels apart & evaluated them?
