  1. 2018 Supreme court ruling affected how online vendors have to collect tax, even if they're selling to a state where they don't have a physical presence. I'm assuming there's a phase-in, or maybe an allowance for smaller mom-and-pop outfits, but ALF is a big time retailer. Since everyone who lives in a state that has sales tax was supposed to be reporting their non-taxed online purchases to the state anyway, this makes it simpler, no? /s
  2. Looks like you can select your ratios, and one thing - the 7'2" and 7'5" are MH/XF rods - they don't directly call that out. the 7'0" is MH/F
  3. Finally scored something worth commenting on at an Academy clearance - not much was jumping out at me, although there were some decent markdowns. Then I found a solitary Daiwa Tatula XT baitcaster rod, 7'0" M/F - Reg $99.99, on for $49.99. Anyone got feedback on these? Not sure where their Med. power rods land, technique wise.
  4. Same state, I'm just up north ?
  5. My Academy is a much better stocked fishing department - closest Cabelas/BPS is 90 miles away. The Dicks is ok, but I get the feeling they're carrying the bare minimum in company-approved gear, that no one locally is curating the department to cater to the local fishing scene. We have a couple of extremely well stocked local tackle stores too, so that keeps them from trying to compete too. I wish Academy had some sort of customer loyalty or rewards program, like the Dick's scorecard program, I'd get a lot more use out of it.
  6. And have the app installed on your phone or whatever - sometimes the sales are only if you use the app to order.
  7. Is that second row a molten copper kind of color? How clear/dirty do those work for you - I've been eyeing a Rapala Shadow Rap in about that same color.
  8. I think it's cause there is less demand, so sellers stock less of them. I have a pair of those 5.6 LFS' on my 2 cranking setups, they're nice for the price. I wish Diawa made a Fuego CT in a lower gear ratio.
  9. Pop Up Ebay flash sale - 15% off most everything - today until 6pm Pacific. code: POPUPSAVINGS
  10. They're $65-69 on ebay usually from Alpha2Omega or a few other sellers. When a 20% off everything pops up, you can grab them for about $56 each.
  11. I have one of these - the one with the higher bearing count, if that's the one these are, it's a nice reel for the $$$
  12. Man - why couldn't that be something that'll fit in my rod locker. I max out at about 7'6".
  13. Never happened last year did it? I know we tried.
  14. were you maybe seeing the adjusted price once you had the 8 in your cart? Once you add 8 of them, the prices in your cart reduce to what is basically 25% off. 110's drop to $18.74 from $24.99 in my case.
  15. I bought my first Vision 110 at Black Friday at 20% off. I hold it in my hand and can't really understand what all the hype is about that makes it a $25 lure. Hopefully in the water there's a difference. Hopefully for the price, I bought a good color, depth, etc.....Get really expensive if you have to be figuring all this out blind.
  16. I've picked up a few of these when they drop to the $39 price - I have 2 of the 6'10" M/F casting rods, I really like them as an inexpensive dedicated jerkbait/topwater popper rod, and a good all around pond-hopper rod for light t-rigs. I have the 7'3" H as well. For $120 you could have a 3 rod setup that covers most all of the basic techniques, or a nice brother/father in law set so they quit borrowing your better stuff.
  17. Probably not, and a lot of times their 20% off is only selected sellers - and I needed this one that is for any purchase, pretty sure a gearset for a '98 Intruder 115 isn't on the list, lol.
  18. Biospawn is running 30% off any order code: HOLIDAY30, and 40% off any order over $50 w code: HOLIDAY40. Free shipping I think as well. ALSO eBay code for 11/21 - until 8pm EST: Purchase must be made using the eBay app: 15% off your cart - code: PICKFAST Yay - now I can replace all the broken bits in my lower unit.
  19. ALF is running all Dobyns Rods @ 20% off, no code needed. Sign up for their newsletter under a new email address and get a 10% off coupon that stacks on the sale price. Doesn't apply to their ebay stuff. Free shipping over $99.
  20. The ad at the top of the page says available online starting Wednesday night at 10pm.
  21. Who knows. Remember earlier this year when there was a 20% off code floating around that everyone could use on anything? Firearms/ammo were supposed to be excluded, but thousands and thousands of rounds were sold with that discount applied. Also - I had a 20% off promo their customer service gave me for an error they made on a baseball bat I ordered. It applied to anything, on sale or not. If yours is the same - It might indeed work regardless of BF deal or not.
  22. Usually is on most retailer's "excluded" list. Doesn't 100% mean you can't get a discount - I know another site that has "excluded" brands that you still get a discount on. Also - some websites can be tricked - add a cheap non-excluded item to your cart, and see if it applies the discount across the whole cart. There's a shooting supply website that once you have the discount applied to the cart, you can then take the non-excluded item out of your cart and still get the discount with just the excluded item. Sometimes you have to just game the system. I miss the days of buying giftcards at 20% off, then using that giftcard to buy more giftcards at the next 20% sale, etc....
  23. Here's a scan of the BPS/Cabelas combined BF deals for this year. nothing really jumps out at me. https://bestblackfriday.com/store/bass-pro-shops Academy's going to have the Lews Mach1 Baitcaster combo for $79, and the H2O express Mettle MT2 reels for $39 - those are actually a decent feeling reel. Onyx Auto-inflatable vest for $59 isn't bad either.
  24. Man it's been quiet. All of these "Black Friday starts now!!!" deals I've been seeing that really are just kinda Meh at best have really dulled anything that seems like a good deal. Plus, my lower unit started tapping, and I'm afraid I'm about to need to open it up and replace gears - there was a lot of metal in the oil I just drained out of it. Pulling the propshaft carrier this weekend to assess. I need a 20% of everything ebay code like soon if so - would save me $50 on the gearset.
  25. Hit mine up - online doesn't show any in stock, but they had 4, but they were all priced at $89.97 and didn't ring up for less.
