  1. An absolute money setup is fishing a drop shot with a horizontal presentation on a short leader like 4-5”. Lift your rod tip and drag it like a Football jig, just periodically mix in quick short “pops”. My two favorite all-time ways to slowly fish a plastic are a 3/16th oz shaky head with a Zoom Trick Worm and dragging a 1/10th oz Ned Rig. Once they start hammering it, it’s much easier to fish slow and focused, and those three methods can coax them in tough conditions.
  2. Zoom Trick Worm, 3/16th Mustad Stand Up shaky head jig with a screw lock. I’ll pinch off about half an inch making it roughly 6”. Green pumpkin and June bug depending on water clarity, catches fish any day of the year.
  3. I ALWAYS flip cover with 4/0 Gamakatsu Superline EWG & 65# PowerPro. It’s simple and it just works. I’ll use between a 3/0-5/0 in different situations and line types, but always always EWG Gamakatsu.
  4. Tried it out finally, 53° water after a little warming trend. Caught a 2 pounder in the dead pads on about the fourth cast or so. Good thumping action, I think it will shine in stained water. Good hardware, strong VMC 5/0 hook with a trailer keeper also. Technically a bladed jig, but has a different feel and action than standard blades jigs. I’m impressed with it.
  5. Shaky head with trick worm or ZinkerZ wacky rigged on a 1/20 weighted wacky hook. 15 pound braid, 10 pound fluoro leader. ?
  6. I like to slow down and focus to really work for bites in the winter. Hard to beat a Mustad 3/16 stand up jig with a trick worm when the temps drop.
  7. Anyone fished the Terminator Shuddering bladed jig? Looks like it would be a killer it really stained water but I’m not sure about the plastic blade.
  8. What are some of the best JDM soft plastics out there? I recently bought some Imakatsu Hairy Hawg's and want to expand my JDM collection.
  9. Junebug Trick worm is the go-to. Tilapia colored BBB Sugar cane worms has been a top producer.
