  1. hey all. i have not used any attractants in a long time. there are so many on the market, and i would like to try some again. what should i go for??
  2. my vote was for Parker. i'm surprised that Shaw was not on here though... he is high on my list, also like the Linder boys... dance is good to watch, but he is too good with the BIG bass. Roland just bugs the snot out of me (too cocky/arrogant for me) but i watch him occasionally. good thread and poll
  3. i'm with Raul on this. i have a spool of 10# green berkley big game that i have had for at least 5 years... still good as gold. i keep it in the house, inside a tupperware and in a closet. plenty dark and cool
  4. hey all. if this has not been discovered and posted by someone else, then i would like to make a suggestion for all you people out there with Verizon FiOS TV packages. if you have never checked out their video-on-demand (VOD) section, then you should. if go into VOD, then browse, (maybe all free), then sports there are 3 or 4 sections of shows that contain a lot of fishing shows. some are updated regularly. look for sections like outdoor channel, versus and world fishing. one of my favs recently is the UMF fishing on outdoor channel. i don't subscribe to outdoor channel at all, but the VOD is still there. thought i would share.
  5. well, it was an awesome day, and we did have more action than our previous trip to the pits. the reports from the ledger were correct on the june bug worms. i landed a solid one (approx. 2# to 2.5#) guy on butterfly lake with a june bug, and i got another smaller guy (approx. 1.5# to 2#) on lake 2 later in the day. not the most action, or the biggest fish, but it was a good day on the water for a buddy and i. lake #2 is a very "fishy" looking pit with some great visible structure, but since we don't have any electronics, it is hard to know what is below the water. we will be visiting this lake again, just because it looks so promising.
  6. good point i'll post after tomorrow's trip. thanks again!
  7. looks like someone just updated it a few hours ago... Tenoroc Last Updated by dcmill1 15 hours ago Good-sized bass becoming pretty consistent, with anglers releasing fish up to 25 inches casting junebug worms, crankbaits and spinnerbaits in lakes 2, Butterfly and Hydrilla, reports Brian Fleming. Lakes B and 3 also producing bass 1-3 pounds from daylight to 11 a.m. casting junebug and black/blue glitter worms or pitching craws and Senkos along edges, reports Brent Howlett at Stone's Outhouse. First reports of speckled perch in lakes 5, F and Lost Lake West.Limits of bluegill and shellcracker continue in lakes F, Legs and Picnic on crickets and red worms. Catfish in lakes 2, Half Moon and Legs on chicken livers.
  8. thanks fishindaddy. i appreciate the tips and the link! i'll look into it!
  9. hey all. me and 2 buddies are heading out to tenoroc this saturday. went there a few weeks ago, and were close to a shut out. i caught a small bass, and my buddy hooked a nice one, but did not land it. caught both on 7" plastic worms. anyone been out there recently and had any luck? and with what baits? thanks for any info you can give...
  10. thought this was cool. really like the part where you can watch the bass feed on baitfish... http://www.allume.com/win/aquazone/bassedition/index.html
  11. i found a spool of berkley big game (large 1/4# spool of 10# test) from about 5 + years ago, and was wondering if line can expire. i know it can get brittle and have "memory" if you leave it on your reels... but does unused line go bad?? thanks all!
  12. here in FL, i use trilene big game or trilene XT in the dark green color with very good results. i too noticed exactly what you are talking about with the "clear" lines and how it almost glows in the water, thus i switched to the dark green and i like it a lot. i can hardly tell it's pulling my lures along, so hopefully the bass can't either
  13. i tend to work with somethig that is fast when fishing these types of waters. by using "fast" baits i am (trying) to find the fish much faster, and eliminate to dead spots. maybe rat-l-traps would work for you? also, maybe some deep divers 10+ crankbaits to get to those deeper pockets and drop offs... one of my favs for this are poe's super cedar crankbaits.
  14. hey hooters. i'm going thru the exact same thing now. trying to get Rx sunglasses for motorcycle and fishing. i've been hitting www.heavyglare.com the most, and they seem to have all their junk together when it comes to service. i called them today about getting glasses and maybe not liking them. they told me to order just a standard set (non-Rx) of what i THOUGHT i may like, and then if i did not like them i could just swap. IF i did find them to be what i was looking for, then they could just either cut my Rx lenses to the glasses and send them to me, or i could send them back and they would cut and place them for me. here is what i bought to today (standard pair to try on): http://www.heavyglare.com/catalog/model.php?brand=185&series=0&model=1400 these have a good wrap, which i have to have for motorcycle riding, and you can get them in polarized lense for fishing, and they start at $59, which you can beat with a stick seems to be all i need, now i just have to see if they fit like my oakley twenty's (non-Rx) do. i refused to pay for a pair of oakley's $120-$150 (or more) for frames, and then tack on the Rx lense prices... way too rich for my blood.
