Hey yall, wondering if you guys have tried out the Diesel rod from Powell. I wana find a good rod that i can get 6 or 7 of to kinda keep as boat stalkers but dont wana break the bank. Also if yall have any suggestions for a low pried rod with light weight and sensativity....Thankx
First off you have to find the key spots. And it seems like you know them. You said only a few spots that are 9- 8 feet deep. You gotta fish those spots. You need to fish the water efficently by covering water fast and elimination unproductive water. Fish a c rig with a baby brush hog.A crankbait tht keeps in contact with the .bottom, and when you find thoses deep spots cant go wrong with a drop shot, shakey head or even a tube/
Yah buddy...we all get that every once and a while. the inportant part is that you understand why you arent getting those bites, then changing tactics, boat position or even location. Once you start understanding these key factors you will increse your bites every time.
Ok...so i havent fished for like 6 months from my boat cuz the local lake put a quarantine on the local boats. I have no idea if the engine is gummed up and dont know how to check. any suggestions, and also can someone give me an estimate if it is gummed up. I heared like 1200
I fish lake casitas...notoriuse for some fat ol bass on swimbaits. If you throw a fast sinker to the dend of a point, turn your boat around, then drag it up the point. Brother let me tell you some big fish hit that sucker. Also i dont know your home lake, but if you have bluffs that drop really steep, then throw it right down them and slow roll it. Good lock Brother
God Bless
Obvioulsy im late onn the reply. Casitas is my home lake, i live in ventura and am up there like 4 times a week. Yah the shore line is a hard spot to fish from there, trust me i know. I used to fish from shore with only a few fish every once and a while, but we finaly got a nitro bass boa and are able to really fish the lake. send me a PM if u want any tips or whatever!!!!!

so yeah guys thank for all the help, actually i used a suspended jerkbait and a jig spoon last time i was out and got the ones suspended on bait balls in like 30 feet and the ones that were suspended around shallow cover (15-20) were super finicky.
hi guys i have a long draw length that is 32 inches long and i was wondering if i need a specialy ordered bow or if i simply can buy one of the shelf and get a little bit more poundage out of it, i have 2 recurves that have about 35 lbs in weight and a 28 inch draw.... i pull those with no problem, but i want a seriouse hunting bow and am looking at the jaguar takedown by martin at 50 lbs........thanks for the help
ya i pulled up at one of my favorite spots (deer slope) and started to throw a crankbait while my dada threw a topwater. there was no acton at all for 30 min on the baits. then i saw a fallen tree in a cove and wanted to pitckh it so i didand a 7 lber. stared my bait down for like 5 min but wouldent take it. i figureds that the bass ewere suspended in timber and when i went to otherspots with such cover iwas right and found the mother load of bass on my graph. the buggers wouldent bite no matter what.. i threw a drrop shot, crank bait, jig, c rig and couldent get them to bite. the fish held in like 37 to 14 feet of water around timber in the center of coves. and by points. i got a bunch or shot strikes on the borman and a crap load of nibbles on my t rig but couldent get the hook in. i tried wownsizing but still nothing, the bigges fissh seem to be suspended in 30-40 feet of water at the topes of trees at about 10-15 feet of the bottom.
ok guys i got a hard one for u. The water that i fish is clear and is about 70 degrees now in souther california. the bass are suspended in the brush and timber that has been suspended. i went out today and only got like a few small fish that were on the shore but i dont know how to catch those suspended ones.. any help is great and if you could give me some advice on baits to use....thanks guys.
finaly got a boat and have taken it out on lake castaic onece...i got a fish on a fluke my dad got one on a topwater and ny bro got one on a cran.... i was wondering where some of the good spots r and what some of the good techniques at this lake...thanks alot hope to see u out there
if u r flippin branche sand really tight branches then go for a big black bait with no rattle cause usealy the close and tighter the cover then the more likly it is the holes u fish will hold a bass....if u hit it on the head it wont need a rattle to make it bite
Hey guys long time no chat....was wondering ehat the recomended beak in period for a 150 optimax is....oh by the way we just got our brand new nitro z7 and r pickin it up monday...thanks for the help and god bless........
