  1. Me too. That's why I'm headed to the rockpit.
  2. I tell ya what, man. Those push poles help out tremendously. Especially in the grass where the trolling motor won't go. You can push yourself into pockets where the BIGGUNS hide.
  3. You guys with Rangers are killing me, it's only gel coat  . I might make a 12-15 foot push pole out of pvc to help get across the shallows. I'm runnin the aluminum Tracker but don't have the power you guys have to get on plane in a huury. I'm in with whatever yall decide. Let's f'ng do DO IT.
  4. I didn't, but the wife did. She had bread, one & 1/2 of the shrimp, calamari, caesar salad, 8 ounce N.Y strip (but I think the chef sent out a 12ounce) baked potato, half a lobster tail, piece of cake and two glasses of wine and I ain't got a f****** clue where she put it all  . I hate to over eat, but the food was so darn good we couldn't help it.
  5. I already stole it. ROFLMAO I'm an off the front kind of guy also.
  6. I've eaten at about every restaurant in Palm Beach that serves steak and this restaurant has to be the best. All you have to do is look me up when your down here.
  7. There are MANY of us in Palm Beach that bass fish. We are having a get together next friday at Loxahatchee wildlife if you want to join.
  8. The steaks are absolutely worth every shiny penny. My steak was 32 bucks, I think. The chef/owner doesn't sell the shrimp he gave me. He gives those to his friends and special guests. He said there's a restaurant on the west side of Lantana bridge that sells them for like 15-20 bucks a piece.
  9. That would be exactly what I'm looking for. I would prefer the extension goes inside the blank and then add cork rings to the extension. I'm not too concerned about voiding the warranty. G-Man- The rod I'm talking about is the deep flex 7'6" Don't know why they made the handle so dang short. DVT or anyone else- Can you perform the needed modification?
  10. Callaros Prime Steak. It's at the corner of Ocean and Lantana. Directly across the street from the Ritz Carlton. Can you imagine using one of those shrimp for Snook?
  11. `The wife and I visited one of our favorite restaurants this evening for our eight year wedding anniversary dinner. The chef started us out with some calamari and barbecue shrimp, which I initially thought were lobster because I have never seen shrimp this big. The shrimp were literally a foot long. Next was our HUGE dinner salads. Then, the main course. I had the 22 ounce, bone in ribeye. The steak was cooked to perfection and melted in your mouth like cotton candy. The chef also sent out two African lobster tails to accompany our steaks. Afterward, it was time for desert. I had the mounds cake and the wife had chocolate mouse. There are 4 shrimp on this huge plate. This was the smallest of the 4 shrimp. Awesome steak and lobster.
  12. ^ Absolutely dead on. I am a born and raised Floridian. When there is a dramatic change in temp, I find the larger bass go deeper and/or tight to cover. These fish tend to hit SLOW moving baits such as jigs, worms or senkos.. Smaller bass, 1-2 pounds are a bit more active than the bigger ones and can be found in shallower water and will strike faster moving baits such as topwater and small swimbaits/flukes. Example. Its Feb and March. We have had consistant temps in mid/upper 70's all day and lower/mid 60's at night. Fishing should be excellent. Now all of a sudden a front moves in and high temps in the day are in the 50's with temps in the low to mid 30's at night. Best advice is to skip fishing for a day or two, maybe 3. If you must go then fish SLOW and deep ledges. If I was canal fishing with temps in the 60's at sun-up, and little to no structure, then I would try a 3-5 inch jerkbait. Fish it parallel to shore from 1-6 feet of water. If that doesn't produce, then cast towards the bank using a weightless senko or Texas rigged plastic worm up to 7.5 inches with no more than a 1/8 ounce sinker. Work the worms from the bank back towards you, into deeper water.
  13. It's all relative. When you can't get the bigguns to bite on the heavier equipment then drop down to the ultralite and go for the 2 and 3 pounders with #4 and 6 mono. Nice fish!
  14. I gave you a G Loomis IMX, light spinning rod and Shimano reel combo for under 300. This combo is a solid, upper level combo that will last your for years. How much more of an upgrade do you want to do from there? NRX model and Sustain? You're looking just shy of a thousand bucks.
  15. Yep. They put a bandaid on a gaping wound. But at least we might get to go fishing.
  16. It appears our get together will be a go. WASHINGTON — President Barack Obama and congressional leaders reached a last-minute budget deal on Friday, averting a government shutdown that would have idled hundreds of thousands of federal workers.
  17. If the Lox closes then I say we sneak in the Boynton entrance and fish the observation ponds. No government means no law enforcement
  18. Osborne is best in the evening, I don't know but it just is. Lake Clarke is good whenever. I don't fish Ida enough to know.
  19. Wait a minute. You're in Japan, in bed at a hotel and the bed started trembling? Are you sure it was an earthquake?
  20. You probably have a boxer's fracture. Very common amongst fighters. I had one several years ago and had to wear a cast. Go to the doctor for an x-ray or you will be SORRY later in life. BUT, if you just want to "deal with it" for your tournament then just grow a set and suck it up.
  21. You've mentioned just about every possible thing that can make your cast go astray except for one important thing. YOU! I'll cut to the chase and flat out tell ya. It aint the reel, rod, wind, air temp, or mother nature. It's you. You just simply need more practice.
  22. Dale, don't be a couch potato on the day of the get together. You know you've got a spot in my boat. You can even fish on the front deck. Doug.
  23. Ok, I'm back. The wife sent back down to the lobby so here I sit with my PopTart and milk . Thursday of the next week, 14th, is not good for me because I have a tournament at 6pm, unless we go to lox in the morning and I'm back in Lake Worth by 3pm. I have a 19' tracker so I can take me and 2 guys if necessary. It would be easier to decide when and where to fish if we knew what part of the day we were going to fish, morning or evening.
  24. I'm in Disney World right now and had to sneak down to the lobby to use the public computer. I have to make this fast before the wife gets suspicious as to where I've been, LMAO. I'm in but cant go this Saturday, the 9th. It's my anniversary, but anytime after that is good with me. Any location is good too. Gotta go.
  25. Thanks for the help. I was concerned about applying pressure to the extended area, but i'm only going to touch that era when casting..
