I am so stoked right now that I have to do a little bragging.
"Hawk" called to tell me he couldn't fish the night tournament, 6p-10p, due to an emergency. I was feeling kind of bummed because he and I are in 4th place for the season, which ends in September, and it's a team trail.
24 teams showed up for the tournament and I was the only one fishing alone, putting me at a huge disadvantage.
I fished the same hundred yard stretch all night and absolutely slayed'em. In fact, I stopped fishing at 9:10 and went back to the boat ramp to relax, knowing dang well I had this tournament in the bag. I figured I had about 18-19 pounds of fish (5 fish limit), but as it turned out, I was off a little bit with my calculation.
I had 22.13 pounds with 3 fish over 5 pounds, 5.14, 5.11, 5.1 and took 1st place. 2nd place had 17 pounds.
As if 1st wasn't enough, I also had big fish. The only bad thing though was 3 of us tied for big fish at 5.14 . (I still can't figure out how that happened).
Man what a night! Oh yea, get this. I only had 6 hits ALL night and managed to boat 5 of them. The 6th one wrapped me around a sprinkler pipe.
Like I say, "KVD ain't got nothing on ME!"
