  1. I'm bored so I thought I would post one of those "here's another worthless topic" threads. If I could live the life of a rock star for a year and enjoy the same fringe benefits, I think I would choose to be Gene Simmons. Who would you choose to be? It can be someone from any era, living or dead, and any type of music?
  2. I don't understand! Let's just leave Dirk all alone at the 3 point line. Come on, guys!
  3. Pretty cool, but no more farting indoors.
  4. Wellfare recepients will now have to be drug tested before receiving assistance. It's about fricking time!
  5. I used to pass by his house on the intracostal when I saltwater fished all the time. He had a yacht that was named "Sunday Money"
  6. I cast very effectively with either hand, but do not retrieve left handed.
  7. Mr clean eraser can be found at your local super market or Home Depot.
  8. I'm almost halfway through my tournament season using the Lew's TP as my primary reel. I will post my experience in September. So far though, I'll be adding another one to the two I already have. In fact, my sol and Chronarch 50mg have taken the back seat and get very little use.
  9. The NRX is 15 or 20% stronder than the GLX, according to Loomis' website. They use a different resin or "smething" that makes the rod lighter, more sensitive but stronger. I have the NRX rods and they are by no means brittle. I thought they would break just by breathing on them the first time I held one, but I was wrong. They have plenty of backbone and strength. I will be ordering the 7'1 heavy NRX rod for jigs next month.
  10. I've had several from TW and one from tackle direct without any problems. That being said, I have shipped several without incident, except for one. I recently sold a Loomis GLX to a member here and had problems. I shipped the rod in the same tube that TW shipped my rod in. The recepient received the rod broken. The rod tube was bent in a 90 degree angle and someone from FEDEX tried taping the tube to hide the damage. Fedex promptly covered the $100 insurance that came standard with the shipping cost, which covered the Loomis expiditer service. The recepient was very patient and understanding of the accident, but he shouldn't have had to use his expiditer for FEDEX's mistake.
  11. Don't settle for anything less than the GLX model for soft plastics, unless you get a good deal on an IMX. IMX would be the absolute lowest model in the Loomis line up for soft plastics that I would reccomend.
  12. The GLX 893 is an exceptional soft plastic rod. Primarily Senkos, Flukes and similar baits. I owned 2 of the GLX 893's and absolutely loved them. For jigs though I would suggest getting the GLX 853 or 854, depending on type of structure you're fishing. I owned 2 of the 853's also, but they are a tad ligt for heavy cover. (Heavy cover as in THICK lilly pad fields or thick, matted weed beds) Do yourself a huge favor though. If you can afford the $400 for the 893, then save an extra $100 and get the NRX model. I've sold all my GLX's, except 1, and upgraded to the NRX. If you think there is a significant difference between the IMX and GLX, then multiply that 10 fold between the GLX and NRX. The sensitivity in the NRX is UNBELIEVABLE and a fricken dream to fish with. I can honestly say that I have won a few tournaments that I know I would have lost if it wasn't for the NRX. Fishing into 20mp winds with a huge bow i the line and I could feel the slightest tick with the NRX. If NRX is just out of the question, then the 893 would be my choice for soft plastics. But if my primary bait was going to be a jig then i would get the 853 or 854.
  13. Does it mean a guy is *** if he fishes with a pink rod/reel and wears tights?
  14. Wake up and join the party.
  15. You want awesome special effects? Feed me a chili cheese dog and standby.
  16. OOOOOPS, guess he won't be buying one.
  17. It seems like this topic comes up every couple of days. Does it really matter who manufacturers them?
  18. You cant do sht about it. It comes down to on little word, C O N V E N I E N T. As far as Africa goes, those people have been starving for decades, but they keep pumping out babies. How about feed them birth control. I say F the world and help those here at home.
  19. I could care less what happens in Africa. Eat an elephant for crying out loud.
  20. Hey, leave Loomis alone Loomis wouldn't have charged you anything either, as long as it was a manufacturers defect.
  21. Rhino, The only thing I was biting on was a pound of M&M's . I made it through the night w/out nightmares, but I did have a dream about a pile of dog doo chasing me. I swear, it was the weirdest dream. Sam, I think you're right. The music plays a BIG role in scary movies. I enjoy scary movies, but get the heeby geebies watching Satan movies.
  22. We go after McDonalds because parents are ignorant and not capable of making good decisions when it comes to their children's health/diet. So, instead of holding an ignorant, uneducated person accountable, we go after the deep pockets. I mean, really? I can name 5 people off the top of my head who are crack addicted prostitutes and still have custody of their children. Can you really hold them responsible for making sure their kids eat healthy? I'd like to see the statistics of what group of people frequent McDonalds the most. Low income, middle class or upper class families? Who feeds their children McDonalds food the most; high school drop outs, high school graduates, college graduates?
  23. I totally disagree with your analogies. Finishing in 1st place or catching the biggest fish is only fun if you don't cheat. Your "idol" is a steroid freak who probably has/had serious inner personal issues about his self being. Being buff isn't going to do you any good if you're not at peace with yourself, mentally. And being buff as a result of steroid use certainly means nothing to me. In fact, I think it's a dang shame. Perhaps all you need is a bit more self confidence, not muscle.
  24. I don't understand why I insist doing this to myself, but it's too late to turn back now. The movie is 3/4 of the way over and I'm going to have nightmares for the next two weeks. I'm watching "The Rite," starring Anthony Hopkins and he is scaring the living sh** out of me. Demonic movies always fill my head full of sh** and I end up having nightmares. Has anyone else seen this movie? I guarantee you that I'll be going to sleep with ALL the lights on .
  25. I currently have 11 packs of the Lake Forks in my boat. Why so many? Because they flat out catch fish, PERIOD. They are durable. I've caught over 30 pounds of bass on just one bait.
