  1. my mistake. I guess some areas are different from others. Some lakes in my area allow it. You dont have wake or noise because you are not using your motor plus it is tilted out of the water. But i guess if your boat and gas tank leak you could leak the gas. In any case, I would not try using a gas powered boat in electric only lakes until I checked with the proper authorities...
  2. Why cant you use both and just tilt the motor up out of the water when fishing a lake that does not allow motors.
  3. I started using P-line a few months ago on all my baitcasters. I also just started using those Senkos but noticed my line is getting twisted. I fished plastics about 90% of the time and never had this problem (unless it was on a spinning reel) using other line. I was just wondering if it was the line or the Senkos causing this problem. I think the line may have too much memory but let me hear from yall.
  4. Thank you all for the advice. I'm walking out the door to go to Boaters World and then to the lake. The wind will NOT hold me down. Especially on my day off...... ;D
  5. I was looking at Bass Pro and noticed several kinds of drift anchors. I never used one so I'm looking for yalls advice. I have a 19' Tracker. Sometimes I fish open water with grass beds about 6inches under water level but the wind blows me too fast to properly fish the holes. Wind is usualy 12-18. Thanks.
  6. Also, Tracker boats is seperate from Bass Pro Shops. Different employees.
  7. you dont get reward points when buyimg boats at bass pro. I just bought the 19 tracker and tried to get points. they said NO WAY.
  8. zoom zoom zoom....lizzard
  9. I received his snakes in the mail a few days ago. Tried them bout 1 hour with no luck but i think this is the wrong time. They look and swim very good. I showed one to the wife and scared the crap out of her. LMAO.......
  10. I've been using that reel for about 3 months now, I have it on a 7' st.croix m/h tournament edition.(blue) works great together
  11. Thanks for all the tips..
  12. Is there anyway to have a state or world record bass certified without killing it and still receive credit for cathing it ? Maybe it's just me and perhaps I'd feel different if I actually caught a bass that broke a local or state record, but a bass that big has to be extremly special to have survived that long and avoided being caught. I realize it would be worth lots of money but I think deep down inside myself I would feel sick if I were to kill it while taking it to where ever it would have to go to be certified as a record. While being born and raised in south Florida I have caught hundreds and hundreds of Snook, snapper, dolphin and other species and would have no problem killing one if it meant having it classified as a record but for some reason my passion for bass is different. Perhaps if bass in the 19lb plus range were comman in my area (South Florida) then I may not think twice about killing one to have it certified as a record. Like I said, perhaps I'd feel different if I actualy caught one but I'd like to think I would just take a picture and weigh her on my portable scale and let her go rather than killing it trying to have it certified and count my blessings that I'm fortunate enough just to being able to fish. Anyways, how do you have on certified as a record ?
  13. I watched the video and had them ordered before the video finished. I got them in the mail yesterday and tried them today. They look and swim as natural and better than any artificial I have ever used, They DO NOT cast very easily into the wind. I was using them on a 7 1/2' heavy spinning rod with #40 braid on a Shimano stradic 4000, which I use as light tackle for Snook. I din't catch a darn thing on them but I'm sure they will produce with the right conditions. I came home and showed the wife what I had bought. I took it from behind my back and held out to her. She took of running around the dining room table screaming. Needless to say, I laughed so hard that I peed my pants......
  14. I have several G-Loomis rods and love them and a few St.Croix. The last 3 rods I have purchased within last 6 mths are the G-Loomis Greenwater, 7' , med/hvy fast action. I have a Team Diawa Zillion on it. You can feel the fish breathe with this rod. The 2nd is a St. Criox 7' med/hvy fast action, not sure of the model but it is blue. It's paired with a Phleuger Supreme, love the rod but unsure yet about the reel. The 3rd is a rod I was coaxed into buying from Sports Authority by that silly little MONKEY. It's a 7' med action Hurricane Redbone and have a Shimano Curado 200DHSV on it. The first two rods alone were $200 plus. The 3rd was $80. The Redbone is not as light as the Loomis or St.Croix but fishes very well and has plenty of setting power, especially for the price. I guess if money isn't a problem then get the Loomis, otherwise the Redbone is an excellent choice. Thats only my opinion though. Heck, I've seen plenty of fish caught on cane poles...lol.......
  15. I have the Curado 200 and absolutely love it.
  16. I have several Calcuttas which I used pridominately for snook fishing. I just recently got back into serious bass fishing so I bought the Shimano Curado 7:1, Diawa Zillion 7:1, and Phleuger Supreme. I swore I would never buy a different reel other than my Calcuttas but I changed my mind since fishing the other three. The Diawa and Phlueger work exceptionaly well and very light but I'm not impressed with the way they fit in my hand. The Curado was the least expensive, $199.00 but fits the best in my hand and have caught hundreds of bass on it of all sizes. The Curado has some power to it and has become my weapon of choice. I'm gonna buy 2 more as soon as I sell a few of my Calcuttas
