  1. Do all bass smell the same or have you ever noticed some have a stronger fishy smell than others? Why is this? P.S. Mook squad, we're talking bass here, not snapper...
  2. Avid look alike? I never seen Avid with a fish that big. Even if yours IS cut in half
  3. http://www.bassresource.com/bass_fishing_forums/YaBB.pl?num=1200588782 ok, try this.
  4. I'm a master of the cast net.. This topic was covered a month or two ago and had lots of ideas. I believe Avid posted it. I'll try and find the topic.
  5. Sugar Cane. I lived here in Fl all my life and 20 miles from the sugar cane crops and never knew they drained the lake for that. HMMMMM
  6. Congrats to you and Christine, Jason. You wanna go fishing tomorrow? HAHAHAHAHA..... We'll hit it soon but you netter get some sleep for now....
  7. My main quirk is STAY THE HELL AWAY from me and my trolling motor unless you're invited.
  8. Sorry about the bad intel George.
  9. Find Pierson rd. Take that west from Southshore Dr. to Equestrian Club Rd. Also check out Golden Point Lane. I haven't fished those spots in a couple years since I got my boat but I used to do pretty good there. I'll take my boat out if you want. We can hit Osborne or Lake Clarke.
  10. Yes. I don't memorize the street names, just how to get there. The west part and s.w part. I'll look on google earth real quick.
  11. I believe bank beating is kinda tough. Pay for Steve P or George Welcome to take ya. I woulda taken my boat if I knew you wanted to go. Too late for me now though.
  12. I just noticed you live in Wellington. Try the back parts of Wellington or in the Aero club. There are tons of canals that hold big fish. They may not look like it but trust me, they hold plenty of and big fish. I'm supposed to go Sunday morning with a friend who's totals so far are over 60 fish in 5 hours. Several 4 and 3 pounders. He's been fishing after work this past week in Wellington tearing them up. On Flukes.
  13. In West Palm Beach ? From the bank I would try Okeeheelee park. It is located on Forest Hill Blvd just east of the turnpike. No T-Pike exit though. The water is clear and plenty of grass. A weighted craw or worm produce well. Junebug or watermelon seed do good for me there. Also the Turnpike canal which is accessible from the N.W corner of Forest Hill and the park (by the bicycle track) is good for Peacocks.
  14. We got 3 under sized ones. I got one that might have been barely keeper up to the boat and the hooks pulled. There was zero wind and zero bait out which made for a weird night. I did however smack into a pylon with the boat and literally knocked WESTPALMDUDE onto his butt. He broke a rod during the fall. I still wet my pants laughing so hard. The look on his face was fricking hilarious/priceless.
  15. Nice fish Avid . I'm glad the sun didn't get in your eyes.
  16. Of course I'm in. Div. 2. Them other states can't be serious about going up against us FLORIDA boys...That's just plain
  17. There is a portion outside of the gill plate that is RAZOR sharp. Will slice through #60 mono like butter but you can hold them by the gills if you know how to. I won't boat them by the gills or even hold them by the gills unless I'm keeping it.
  18. Glad you had such a good time with your kids. PRICELESS. Was this your first trip and if so, was it difficult avoiding the stumps?
  19. How about the BPS museum. I'm sure they should have a decent model, maybe.
  20. Lil' head, dink, lil rat....
  21. Snook are an awesome game fish to catch- from fly rod to heavy tackle. They are also fair-good table food, better than bass anyway IMHO. Problem is, the slot limit and bag limit suck. Also, it's hard to fish many spots without a boat unless you like fishing from bridges, in Palm Beach County anyways. Saltwater is as expensive as freshwater fishing if not more. I couldn't and wouldn't live in an area where I couldn't do both. I caught one last night on my Calcutta with #17 mono using a Yozuri lure and man what a fight. Lost it though.
  22. Loomis, Loomis, Loomis, Loomis....Need I say more? Wait a minute. which Loomis crank rod is it? I have the Loomis CBR 843... it is a 7' med, fast action crank rod. I use it with a Diawa Sol and #10 mono for shallow to med cranks.. Your Curado 200 may be a bit too big for this rod but I like lite tackle. This particular rod has very good backbone.
  23. Stuff him/her in you carry on and stick'em in overhead compartment?
