  1. Same thing. There are white speck and black speck. People also call them Speckled Perch.
  2. I almost bought the white one but the wife wanted midnight blue.
  3. And I thought I was messed up in the head....
  4. Welcome home! Stray dogs always find their way home. Now if only Avid can find his way back, not that we missed yall or anything. Does this mean we can reinstate the ?
  5. I don't know how you got 2 yrs probation if the gun wasn't yours and you borrowed the truck not knowing it was there.. Sounds to me your lawyer really sucked.
  6. Welcome back and don't ever run out on us again!!!!!
  7. We have all king of junk in out waters. Lake Okeechobee has 400 different species of fish. Those sucker looking fish are everywhere down here in Palm Beach. Are they useful for anything or are they for "hunt and kill"?
  8. Bassn_fin@tic PM'd me asking if his name could be added to the list. I told him absolutely but don't know how to ad it. I also noticed LBH has his name on the list. I think he should have to paint his mohawk purple and hot pink on the days he fishes the lure or he can't use it. That is if he still has the doo by then.
  9. Just got the SJR902, 7.5 feet medium . Check it out and read the write up on it.
  10. I had this done last year too. I tell ya though, that crap they made me drink was HORRIBLE. The nurse told me to get the orange flavored drink, that most people like the orange flavored one. Well, that was total B.S. I was down to my last 12-16 ounces when I puked it all into the kitchen sink. 30 minutes later I was standing in the shower with my boxers and shorts on because, without warning and I do mean without warning, the flood gates opened and nothing but mud came out. We're talking the consistency of coffee. They really know how to break a man down. Making him crap himself like that . Horrible, just horrible. And to make it worse, it was in front of my wife and kid.
  11. Pretty cool but I don't believe it. A shark is going to eat his butt.
  12. I think it has rained everyday or darn near every day for a month now and they are still pumping Lake Okeechobee. I don't mind the rain. It's the heat that follows rain that I mind.
  13. I very seldom C-rig but I'm sure it will work. I T-rig with a 4/0-5/0 hook and 10" worm. I usually use a 1/4 oz worm weight and insert a rattle into the worm. You can also try the weights with built in rattles but I find them a bit larger in size. I like tungskin(SP) but they are expensive. I use the smallest weight I can get away with except at night. For me, it's easier to feel the hit using a heavier weight. Remember to fish very SLOW.
  14. I'm just learning myself so I'm the wrong person to ask. I do know this though- use heavy gear!
  15. I believe it's 4 inches and weighs a couple ounces. I had zero confidence in swim baits until I started reading posts from a few guys on here who consistently catch lunkers on them. What really got me thinking about them was when I was using my U/L. I caught a bass about 8 inches long and as I got it about 5 feet from the surface, I seen a MONSTER bass following it in trying to eat it. I'm in no way near mastering these baits but I believe a big part in their success is being in the right frame of mind. I went out today with the intentions of using this bait until I got a hit, even if it took the whole trip to do it. The conditions were calling for so many other type baits and techniques but I stuck it out with the swim bait. I painted a picture in my mind of this bait being gulped up by a lunker that I felt as though I was daydreaming, and probably was. I had to force myself to give it a 110% chance and it paid off. Not exactly on any lunkers but by building confidence for the next trip.
  16. That would be cool if Glenn or one of the Mods could get an article in a magazine or something about this lures journey. I'm sure Rapala would love to hear about it. I'm not sure if we covered this or not but I would like to get the lure back at the end of it's journey. I want to put in a shadowbox and hang it on my wall with everyones name who used it. Then each year perhaps send it to Glenn to put it on display at all of the future BassResource outings.
  17. I think you should of targeted whatever it was you were seeing down deep. I would have tried a jig or a 10" worm.
  18. What an oinker. Great fish man!!!!!
  19. I headed out to my honey hole this evening for about 2 hours. We didn't catch any hawgs but managed about 15 fish. I was throwing a MattLures baby bass swim bait. This was my 1st time using this bait and had been waiting all week to try it out. I was using it on my 7'5" Loomis flipping stick with a Calcutta 250. The reel was spooled with #15 Yozuri, which was way too light. I was throwing the bait in about 20' of water and reeling it in steady at some what of a slow pace. The 1st hit caught me off guard but I still managed to hook her and get'er in. She was about 3.5 pounds but I didn't weigh her. I was so stoked, even though the fish was small. Yeeehawwww! My 1st swim bait fish. I checked my knot and noticed a tear in the bait. Uh Oh!!!! I took it off and tied on a crank bait. I was going to not use the swim bait until I could fix the tear. These boogers aren't cheap. After about 2 minutes, I was like, screw this and tied the swim bait back on. Holy heck batman, 2 more fish about 3 pounds. And then I got one that weighed just over 4 pounds. All I can say to yall is, GO BUY THIS BAIT!!! Buy 2 or 3 though, they are soft and rip like a senko. Or should I say stanko.HAHAHA... About 3.5 Just over 4 pounds. My damaged bait.
  20. Time spent with dad is time well spent. Now on to more important things. Where is your camera?
  21. I would move to an area close to public, large lakes. Seriously dude. I settle for less to live in an area close to lakes.
  22. True - but a boat gives you access that not having one does not. My error. I thought it was a junk boat and high end gear. Yep, gotta have the boat.
  23. I used to build rods years ago. I built my dad a 2 rods, one was a Loomis and the other was a St. Croix. The rods are so old that I offered to buy him a new Loomis but he said HECK NO. He won't give up those 2 rods I built for nothing. Give it to your dad, I'm sure he will love it.
  24. I'd take the gear. Fish don't care what I float on. We're picking up bass, not chicks.
