  1. I called The Fish and Wildlife yesterday to get the Fl. statute and fines. They said they get about 20 calls a day on cast netters but only have a couple Officers working the entire county. The netters are usually gone by the time they arrive.
  2. What would you do if you had the authority? #1. The law in Florida is Any person 16yoa and over must possess a valid fishing license while freshwater fishing. This also includes using a castnet. #2. No person is permitted to harvest game fish by net. You can keep talapia and catfish but NOT Bass, bream, bluegill, speck, etc. #3. Using a net or fishing rod w/out a license is an infraction. #4. Keeping game fish caught by a net is a misdemeanor. Can also be charged if the bag and size limits are violated. QUESTION- (I don't mean to single out any specific group of people, but) The Mexicans and Guatamalens(sp) are raping our lakes and canals here in S. Florida. I routinely see 3-5 people using a cast net to harvest fish from local lakes, ponds and canals. The people are keeping any and all fish they catch, like bass and panfish. They also destroy the habitat by pulling in tons of grass/hydrilla with their nets. Most of these people will tell you they are keeping the fish to feed their families, even though they are illegally harvesting them. What would you do if you had the authority? Arrest them, warn them, educate them, or ignore them since they are using the fish to feed their hungry family? Deporting and shooting them is out of the question.
  3. That is great! How in the heck did you or whomever make that up?
  4. How do you know if your rod is properly balanced?
  5. lake worth
  6. stay home or use shiners,,,
  7. Just lower the left side of the bumper....problem solved.
  8. Thanks for the advice. I will take it in for repair.
  9. I dug these up and thought I'd share with the rest of yall.
  10. Pour some JJ'S majic in her vents.
  11. I have a Minn Kota Riptide that does the same thing. Mine is almost 2 yrs old. It cuts off after it's been running for a while. I have to turn it off for a couple minutes to, I guess cool off, and back on again. I always thought there was a built in "overheat" thing-a-majiggy" that would automatically shut it off when it gets too hot but maybe I'm wrong..
  12. Make one of your swim baits. There is a definite "science" to making a good one.
  13. either you have the whitest toe nails or you paint them!!
  14. I always try to fish into the wind when fishing from shore. My theory is, the wind blows the bait to the end of the lake which attract the the bass.
  15. Since you feel so strong about O.J, then why don't you become his pen pal? Yall can have a long, meaningful relationship while he spends his LIFE is prison.
  16. On all 12 felony charges. I guess you can get away with murder but not robbery. Chances are he will spend the rest of his life in prison. And what's ironic is that he was found guilty exactly 13 yrs to the day from being found innocent of the homicides. I bet he hates the number "13" now...
  17. Definately use round for shad.
  18. Good story Paul. I take much of your advice to heart because I know you catch big fish. Several of the different lures recommended to me by you have produced decent fish. I also know you enjoy using live bait (gills) with awesome results so if you say this new lure is the BOMB then I'm hooked.
  19. What did you say the gate code was ?
  20. Russell, are you still with us? It's ok if you are throwing dishes against the wall, kicking the dog/cat or shouting obscenities at your neighbors for no apparent reason. Just don't go breaking your rods.
  21. Guaranteed you are city born and raised. Born and raised in Florida. No cold temps here but plenty of hogs.
  22. Under no circumstances do I even allow them into the boat, unless I'm going to sell them as catfish to the Hatians.
  23. 1 for flipping. 2 for worms 1 for super fluke 1 for topwater rapala 1 for crank bait 1 for swimbait That's usually it.
  24. Here's my experience and that of people who I talk to out on the lakes. Some people slow troll along the canal banks using a black over gold rapala, like the one in the BR Lure Fun. I have been getting them pretty regularly on chrome rattle traps and cranks. I use chartreuse, fire tiger and red cranks as does a couple of my buddies. Another friend of mine doesn't really target Peacocks but catches them on the Zoom super fluke while going for regular bass. My experience is they like bright colors and the bait to be fished erratic. Our best bite comes between 10am and 3pm (Palm Beach County). As mentioned earlier, try using a jig or worm when they are bedding. Simply lay it in the bed slowly bounce it around but I'm not big on bed fishing. Lastly, Don't use any lures that you don't mind tearing up. The Peacocks will certainly tear a lure up after a days fishing.
  25. I don't get it...
