I also have this one in the GLX, MBR842C. This is one of three of my favorite Loomis rods out of the 9 or so I have. I use #8 Yozuri mono on it. BUT,imo, it is a little small for an all around rod like you want.

MBR843C in the IMX or GLX WILL fish darn near every technique. I highly recommend this rod as an all purpose rod, especially if it is your first Loomis rod. It handles T-rig, C-rig, top water, jerkbaits, small swim baits (lake fork shad), crank baits and spinnerbaits. Some may say the 844 but I doubt you will find hardly anyone to disagree. P.S. Don't be influenced by the price difference between the IMX and GLX. I have 2 of the IMX and they are great. I would go with the IMX. Get the GLX if you're fishing mostly worms, but then I would recommend a different model for solely worm fishing. DO NOT get anything other than the IMX or GLX though.

Skunked Again, I'm sorry for taking your post out of context. , I wasn't trying to be sarcastic or butthead. Now, moving on. Please don't take me the wrong way. I'm all for giving people second chances and even keeping them as friends when they screw up. I was just trying to stimulate some constructive conversation by looking at what happened from a different view, like I did with the Tiger Woods post. The_Natural did make some good posts and put out some good tips on a variety of techniques and it is sad to find out he got caught up in what he did. I was looking at it from this perspective. Natural stole a TON of stuff, and that's just what he has been caught with. Every time he stole something, it drove the prices up for you and me. It appears he had an elaborate scheme going that took lots of practice and skill to pull off. We're not talking just one lure or a pack of smokes. Then, he went and knowingly sold his friends stolen property. Friends that I'm sure he knew would not condone his behavior. To me, he took advantage of good, decent folk to benefit himself. I would be extremely ticked off if one of my friends sold me a stolen car. Bernie Madoff had a lot of friends who thought he was a good man until they found out his kindness and friendship was just a scam to rip them off. Well, I'm sure EVERY girl working at Hooters is the daughter, girlfriend or wife on someone. Yes, I have taken my girlfriend/wife to Hooters. And yes, if my first date was paying the tab then I would take her to Hooters. Here was my experience at Nordstroms in our Mall today. My wife, our 2 yr old son and I were at the jewelry counter to by the wife a watch. The sales lady was not a day over 23 yrs old. She was wearing fish net stalkings, a mini skirt that was about 4 inches below her buttocks and a low cut sweater/top. I got a nasty looks from the wife every time I asked the sales lady to show me a different watch (about 30 times ;D) because it ALL hung out when she bent over. Hmmmm, perhaps I can sue Nordstroms for corrupting my son and getting me in trouble.

Here's what I know. Over 2500 cops on my police force. That equates to over 2500 Glocks. 600-1000 rounds shot through each gun each year. That's over 2milliion rounds a year at 800 rounds each. I'm in the same boat as you RW. I got my BCR893 in the mail last week also and I have no idea which reel to put on it. The rod is just standing naked in my rod rack. I have a NIB spare Chronarch 50Mg I was thinking of putting on it but I think my Calcutta 50GT will fit nice also. This may sound crazy but I'm not so certain I like my Core 50 to the same extent as the Chronarch or Calcutta. I'm going to try all 3 reels on it this weekend and see which one I like better. I might be selling the Core if I don't like how it feels on it.

I shoot the Bushmaster AR but it belongs to my department and that's the rifle they bought for us. I'm not a gun expert or enthusiast but it shoots very well. I believe our SWAT team carries them also. I'm sorry but I don't have any other rifle to compare it to.
