  1. That right there is almost as nasty as my ex-wife.
  2. Is anyone fishing them? http://xtremefishingseries.com/xtremefishing/index.cfm?site=main
  3. X2 Also, go to Tuppens on Dixie and 10th Avenue in Lake Worth. Ask them for the guys phone number who does their rod repair work. His name is Mike Petrikus (sp). I use to build rods with him when he owned his own shop. The guy does some great work and unbelievable custom wraps. I have lost contact with Mike but Tuppens would be a good starting point for locating him. He could wrap some beautiful wraps (not stickers) to include the American flag and a variety of fish.
  4. Are you saying these fish aren't caught in Florida? The best answer I could give to the original post would determine just what type of saltwater species you plan on fishing for. A Calcutta 400 with #15-20 mono and a good 7-8' rod will probably suit many of your needs.
  5. I'm with SirSnook, for the most part. If you plan on wading the flats for trout, snook and redfish with artificial then yes, your bass gear will be fine. If you plan on fishing the docks, bridges and inlets then no, your bass rods won't hold up, unless you're targeting sandperch and spots, which is like bream fishing. A 10-15 pound barracuda, jack, tarpon, snook grouper, mutton snapper or kingfish is not the same as catching a 10 pound bass. These fish will flat out ruin your gear. Sure, your bass rod may hold up for a few catches but if you plan on catching them on a regular basis then leave your bass rod at home and get some real saltwater gear.
  6. How is this relevant? Dubai, United Arab Emirate is only place in Middle East I would visit... To get back on topic, one of reason why the tower is shape like that was for wind reason. The wind circles around building and go upward. instead of strong wind pushing against the building it circles around it and go back up. Pretty amazing engineer feat. Money launderers heaven. You would be pretty amazed at how much dirty money is there. But it is a cool looking building.
  7. Amazing what criminals get away with.
  8. The best advice I could give is to get yourself a half gallon of your favorite drink, a few bags of your favorite munchies and start reading all the great topics on this site.
  9. I sank about 250 leftover Christmas trees when I was a kid. I was helping the guy who did the fishing report for our local news. I remember he had to get permission before doing so but we're talking a LOT of trees. We drilled a hole in the trunk and used wire to fasten a cinder block to each one. That was over 25 yrs ago. I believe I read somewhere that xmas trees aren't the best artificial reef material. The branches and trunk rot too fast. I've heard of people making structure out of pvc but I don't have any 1st hand knowledge if they work.
  10. I never had coyote. How do they taste?
  11. Yep, and I plan on joining them tomorrow.
  12. I fished the tourney today. Open tourney on the 1st Saturday of each month. 30 bucks per boat. Safe light to 2pm. 5 fish limit and no size limit.
  13. That's it, Fast Stike. I wasn't sure of the model motor. This one isn't a DC though. One owner. Boat used 6-10 times a year. Asking price is 8500.
  14. Forgive me for not being 100% poitive but the boat I'm looking at is an 18', 1997 or 1998 Stratos. The boat is powered with a 1997 or 1998 150 Johnson (Fast Strike??) Any advice or personal experience with that motor/boat would be appreciated. TY,
  15. The fish move into the thick stuff when the water is high. The fishing is great when levels are low and flush the fish out into the open. It sounds like you went down to Boca from Boynton. I did very well out there 4-5 weeks ago with senko's. I target the calm side of the cat tail islands. The bigger fish should be getting ready to move in any time now. Get with BocaBasser, he's the local guru of Lox.
  16. Hey RW, Well, all I can say is "I'm in love!" I put my Chronarch 50mg on the 893 and it is ever so sweet. It feels so good that I don't want to try the Core on it. P.S. It took the wife a few nights of getting use to it lying in bed between us but she got over it.
  17. I read (quickly) every comment on every brand of line that BPS carries. The three mono lines that had the best reviews were Ande, Yozuri and P-Line.
  18. Well, I'm kind of stuck too. It's 61 right now at 8pm and will be dropping to the low 40's by 6am with 12-20 mph winds. The high tomorrow will be 64. Tournament take off time is about 6:45am :'(. I've got my shorts, sweat pants, long sleeve t-shirt, hoodie jacket, skull cap, jungle hat, 2pair of socks and flip flops all laid out ready to go. I'm relining my reels (monthly) and getting all rods ready. I'm rigging up a worm rod, 2 senko rods, jig rod, small rubber swimbait rod, crankbait rod, floating rapala rod and fluke rod. I'll probably use only two rods all day but you have to be prepared. So, I'll be out freezing my tail off while you guys are bundled up in blankets next to the fireplace.
  19. Yea, never mind about the drunk idiots, it's the police you have to be careful of.
  20. Why is it classified? Why bother posting in this section if your not going to share ideas? Obviously the rigging style you mentioned above sucks or it would be classified too.
  21. I rig mine with a Gamakatsu 4/0 weighted superline spring-lock 3/16ounce hook and I use the 4.5 inch bait mostly. I've also thrown the 5.5 inch bait as well but I can't find the hooks bigger than 5/0. The 5.5 inch is a little meatier and 5/0 are a bit too small. 6/0 would be a good size. Unlike the Fluke, twitching is not needed. Simply use a straight retrieve. You can vary your retrieve speed until you find how fast/slow the bass want them. The most important thing is to rig them straight and insert the spring-lock through the center part of the nose. I haven't tried other hooks yet so you can experiment. I was told to use the hook I mentioned.
  22. Dang Jason, nice fish. She's definitely bigger than the ones I caught today. Now man up and take that jacket off, it was only in the low 70's today ;D. Lol, I drove home from lake "O" this evening with the heater on.
  23. I gave up smokes after ten years and took up chew. I prefer chew over smokes. It's easy to conceal your chew from the public but you can't conceal the stink from cigarettes.
  24. I was introduced to this lure from another S.Florida member. I was hesitant to buy them until he started getting some good blow ups on MY honey hole. Before I show yall the lure, I want to put out a big Thank You to Jason "Hawk" for making me a believer. I would have never known about this lure, up until now anyways, if it hadn't been for BassResource and having the opportunity to meet and fish with Hawk. Here is my streak fishing with this lure so far. I have fished six different lakes on eight different days (over a 2 month period) and have caught at least one bass on each trip. Most trips have produced multiple fish while some trips only lasted 30 minutes or so. I'm sure many of yall know about or have used this bait but it is new to me and it is steadily becoming my "go to" bait over the Fluke. And I fish Flukes EVERY outing. The swimming action on these baits are unbelievable and they hold up very well. http://www.***.com/descpageLFSPLFSB-LFLMS.html#pImage
  25. More woman? You want to keep learning don't you ;D.. I'm just bustin on ya...There are a few woman who post on here. Mrs. Matstone is a regular but she's probably snowed in. I'm not trying to hit on ya but are you married? If so, does hubby fish with you or do you have a fishing partner? A buddy of mine at work doesn't fish all that much but his wife is an awesome fisherwoman with a few tourny wins under her belt. Anyway, it's good to have you on the site and we look forward to hearing from you and seeing some pic's so post up.
