  1. Have you ever asked your friend where the fish are biting in a particular lake before a tourny? Have you ever asked the locals in a bait shop what baits are producing? If you answered yes, then what's wrong with hiring a guide? Although the guide might not like it if he shows up to fish the same tournament and sees you after he just took you out.
  2. I fished a tournament yesterday on a local lake. This was a team tournament but my partner was sick so I had to fish alone and pay the entry fee by myself, $120.00. I always catch my 5 fish limit but the sizes are small, 1-3 pounds, and have a heck of a time finding a 5 pound kicker. Now yesterday was totally opposite. I put my first fish in the boat that went barely 14 inches and weighed about a pound or just over. I caught 15 more that were too small. Then BAM, I get two decent fish which got my adrenaline going. I knew if I could get two more fish that were 2 pounds each then I would cash. Man, I couldn't get nothing else but dinks. My 3 fish went for 10.66 pounds, just 3 pounds shy of 2nd and a pound from 3rd. My big fish weighed 5+ and got knocked out by about 8 ounces. All my fish were caught on black/blue flake Senkos.
  3. That's the way to put'em on the fish. You must be fishing during the week. That's the only time the wind has been cooperating down here. The weekend comes and all heck breaks loose.
  4. I can say it in two words; Be Patient!
  5. But you have to care. Yankees have too big of a mouth and attitude for the Jets to win. We'll never hear the end of it. I could care less who wins but I like the Vikings since grandpa is the QB. What an athlete.
  6. Like whips and restraints? ;D
  7. Yeah, I understand how the pimping business down there in Florida could really be suffering now days. I hear that Tiger is in a sex addiction clinic. Yea, what a great place to meet the ladies.
  8. Try being a PIMP.
  9. I'm the same thing I was the last time this thread was posted. I'M A PROFESSIONAL PIMP!
  10. One day an old German Shepherd starts chasing rabbits and before long, discovers that he's lost. Wandering about, he notices a panther heading rapidly in his direction with the intention of having lunch. The old German Shepherd thinks, 'Oh, oh! I'm in deep doo-doo now!' Noticing some bones on the ground close by, he immediately settles down to chew on the bones with his back to the approaching cat. Just as the panther is about to leap, the old German Shepherd exclaims loudly, 'Boy, that was one delicious panther! I wonder, if there are any more around here?' Hearing this, the young panther halts his attack in mid-strike, a look of terror comes over him and he slinks away into the trees. 'Whew!' says the panther, 'That was close! That old German Shepherd nearly had me!' Meanwhile, a squirrel who had been watching the whole scene from a nearby tree, figures he can put this knowledge to good use and trade it for protection from the panther. So, off he goes. The squirrel soon catches up with the panther, spills the beans and strikes a deal for himself with the panther. The young panther is furious at being made a fool of and says, 'Here, squirrel, hop on my back and see what's going to happen to that conniving canine! Now, the old German Shepherd sees the panther coming with the squirrel on his back and thinks, 'What am I going to do now?', but instead of running, the dog sits down with his back to his attackers, pretending he hasn't seen them yet, and just when they get close enough to hear, the old German Shepherd says... 'Where's that squirrel? I sent him off an hour ago to bring me another panther! Moral of this story... Don't mess with the old dogs.. Age and skill will always overcome youth and treachery! BS and brilliance only come with age and experience.
  11. I have a 19 foot Tournament TX Tracker. The boat has done me very good. I fish it in the intracoastal for snook and tarpon. I also fish it in the ocean for whatever. I fish it on Lake Okeechobee and all waters between their and the ocean. I like it because it's very versitile and fits my fishing needs. Now, on the otherhand, If I was going to bass fish only (big money tournaments) then I would get a glass boat for many of the reasns already listed such as it being more stable in the wind and generaly faster. And for the person who said "most serious bass fisherman fish from glass," well, here's a news flash for ya, "YOU CAN KISS MY ! How's that for an opinion?
  12. The light on the monitor comes on but the screen is blank. The light is very faint though. I checked the settings to the monitor and the brightness, contrast, color, etc are all fine.
  13. Tried that first but didn't work.
  14. My son turned the poewr stirp off ( a few times) that the computer is plugged into while the computer was on. Now, when I power up the computer, the monitor lights up for a second and then goes dark. Since I can't see the screen to turn the computer off, I pushed the the main power button on the computer. The system turned off but I noticed I didn't have to hold the button down for several seconds in order for it to power down. The system turns off as soon as you push the button. Any suggestions as to what might be the problem would be welcomed. The computer is an E-machine and the montor is a Samsung SyncMaster 912n. THe system is about 5-6 yrs old.
  15. You can expect rough conditions with the wind and possible rai. I suggest sating out of the main lakes of Osborne and concentrate in the canals off Osborne or go to Lake Clarke Shores. If you fish Clarke then concentrate on the west side in the am until the sun gets up over the houses then go to the east side and fish the pads. Go into the canals and look for prespawners and spawners.
  16. Try waxing.
  17. Are you referring to the coffee shop murders? That was a horrific incident. It was an execution.
  18. I just got home from a relatively good day on the job but now I'm numb and teared up. I've been on the job 22 yrs and have seen several of my co-workers go in the line of duty. The loss of a brother officer in the line of duty hits hard, even if we've never met. I will keep Trooper Richey and his family in my prayers. Please give me an address where I send donations for the family.
  19. They were as far north for certain as Belvedere Rd in West Palm Beach and I believe even up to Palm Beach Gardens.
  20. I can suggest a very good mechanic if you come to Florida. And he loves to fish
  21. I find it odd that my employer actually bought tires that were 2 months old instead of finding some on sale that were 6 yrs old ;D Perhaps "odd" was the wrong word but I kind of figured it would take longer than 2 months from the manufacture date for the tires to end up on my car. Not complaining but I guess it should actually be pretty impressive. By the way, my wife suggested to her dad that he take his car to you for new shocks. She asked me for your number so he can schedule an appointment or get some prices. I don't talk to him much (nothing bad, just nothing in common) so I don't know if he is serious or just "thinking" of getting new ones. I'll check with her to see if he's going to call ya.
  22. I found this to be very interesting, even though I have not done research beyond what is being reported. http://www.itstactical.com/2010/01/06/are-your-tires-safe/ I checked my truck, boat trailer and wife's tires. If I read the numbers correctly then the tires on the truck and wife's car were made in September and October 2009 and trailer tires were October 2005. What I find odd is, IF I read the numbers correctly and IF 20/20 is correct in their investigation, then I bought my tires darn near the same month - 2 months they were made and the wifes tires were made in Mexico. Which basically means they were made, shipped, stocked and bought all in the same 2 month period.
  23. I thought this was great and very clever. http://www.slashfood.com/2010/01/12/fda-investigates-fake-unfaithful-tiger-woods-gatorade/?icid=main|search3|dl3|link6|http%3A%2F%2Fwww.slashfood.com%2F2010%2F01%2F12%2Ffda-investigates-fake-unfaithful-tiger-woods-gatorade%2F
