  1. We have had a similar issue here. One lake that I went to the water was down and you could see where bass had made beds before the water dropped and they were nearly out of the water. Hopefully the major wave still be able to spawn successfully. There is also other lakes where the water is up about 4 feet and you can't really see any beds but I have seen fry so should be fine there.
  2. If you are willing to spend $15 you can transfer them with your mapping card. Navionics has a thing called Plotter Sync, which allows you to transfer markers and trails from your plotter to your phone via the Boating HD app. You have to have an active subscription with navionics (the $15). Here is more info on it: https://www.navionics.com/usa/charts/features/plotter-sync Once you have the app you should be able to sync it with your phone which would transfer the makers and trails from your old Lowrance to your phone. Then you could sync your phone to the new Lowrance and it should show all your markers. Just a warning, I haven't used this service so I can't say it there are any issues with it but it seems pretty straight forward.
  3. I have had the chip in for a while and I haven't had any issues. Recently I updated my chip and now when I go to the map it is dark. Like I can still see everything but its very dim and hard to see. I tried messing with the settings and I don't seem to have any settings that should cause this. The graph's brightness is all the way up and looks normal on sonar and structure scan. I had a Lowrance Elite elite 7 Ti. This all started happening after I linked my graph to the navionics app on my phone. Anyone know what the issue is?
  4. That would be nice, wish Lowrance had the same.
  5. What website do y'all use to track your waypoints? I work at a computer all day and look at maps all the time, but I wish I had a way to mark something if I find it.
  6. Thanks for the picture. Helped out a lot!
  7. I bought some LED lights to add to my deck. I have never ran lights/wiring before and I am looking for some advice on how to hook them up to my switch panel. I have seen some videos online about how to wire a complete switch panel, but they are all about a complete wiring with a new switch panel. I already have a switch panel with an open spot to add something. I have 4 lights that I want to add. Does anyone know of an article or video I can use? Or does anyone here have any advice? Not sure if it maters, but I have a Ranger 170VS. Thanks!
  8. Yeah i have some super glue, and i use it if i run completely out. Guess i'll just keep having to do that.
  9. Does anyone know where to get them cheaper? I mean the price ($5.99-$6.99) isn't that bad, but when i go through 1-2 packs in a day if they are bitting it good.
  10. I use 1/16oz jig heads a good bit but i haven't thrown 2.8". I usually throw 3.3" or 3.8" on them in super shallow water(4' or less) or near structure. The 1/16oz jig heads i use are homemade and the hook would't work good on a 2.8". If you could find some 1/16oz jig heads with a small enough hook then i would use it for sure.
  11. Currently weather shows thunderstorms with a 12mph SW wind, not ideal lol. I think i am just gonna put in Spiers and fish around church island. I don't wont to cross any big water if there is gonna be bad weather. Thanks for the help!
  12. Yeah ill probably just go slow when i'm not in the channel. My buddy told me to go to ducks pond, which i think is near the hatchery so it might be a long slow ride ? The area i plan on fishing in on Moultrie. i have a navionics chip for my graph so hopefully that will help. I'll just have to drive careful and slower than i normally would.
  13. I am planning on going to Santee this Friday for the first time in my boat. I've fished as a co-angler twice so i have a very basic understand of the lake. Does anybody from that area have any tips or a map for navigation? EDIT: And when I say navigating I don't mean which creeks are where and such. There are area's you can ride in safely and area's you cant, just looking for some help on how to tell where to ride. I will mostly be fishing around Church Is. area. Thanks
  14. Yeah they got some big ones now, but i have 10-15 yr old BPS rods that are more durable. I should mention i'm rough on my equipment, and i don't mind changing eyes every now and again but for this to happen 3 times in 1 year on two different rods is a bad indicator for me.
  15. I haven't tried the baits so I can't say about them, but i don't think i will be buying anymore Favorite rods.
  16. I have 2 Favorite rods that i bought last year around this time. I have already had the rod tips break off twice on one rod and once on the other. Anybody else have issues with Favorite?
  17. Hard to go wrong with a wacky rigged Senko or Texas rig if your fishing for numbers. A big thing is confidence. Once you catch a few on something you will get confidence. Make sure if your throwing a Senko or Texas Rig you aren't working it to fast.
  18. With my luck I would do this and a fish would come and grab in real fast and run and yank the rod out of my hands lol.
  19. I usually use a dropshot in deeper water, but i don't mind using in shallow. It helps with snot grass that might prevent you from using other bottom baits. The only problem i run into sometimes is the hooksets when casting shallow. Its harder to get a good hookset then if you are fishing vertically. Make sure you if your casting shallow and not fishing vertically to tighten your drag (If your using a spinning setup) for the hookset. There are a lot of spots around where i fish and when you set the hook on them they like to run at you. You have to reel fast to catch up with them and I lose some that way. I also use a heavier weight shallow (1/2 oz) but that is just a preference to help me maintain bottom contact.
  20. I have a 2007 Ranger 170vs. This boat has been good for me, but it lacks in some areas. One in particular is the way the bins lock/close. The bins are rigged with the standard Perko latches, but they aren't compression latches so when it rains all my tackle and equipment gets wet. I am looking into getting new latches that are compression latches to prevent water from getting in the bins. What latches do you recommend?
  21. This is gonna be a lot, but i appreciate any advise/help that is given. Originally on my boat i had a Lowrance HDS 7 Gen 2 touch at the console, and at the front i didn't have anything. Well, Cabelas/BPS recently had a sale on 9" Elite Ti units that came with a Totalscan transducer, and a navionics chip. So i picked one up and took my boat to the shop to get it installed. So i got it back yesterday, and i'm having some issues. I put the new Elite 9 Ti on the bow, and its hooked up to an HDI transducer at the trolling motor. I left the HDS 7 Gen 2 where it was (Console), and got him to put the Totalscan transducer at the back of the boat. The total scan is hooked up directly to the HDS. I also got him to connect both units via NMEA 2000 Network cable. Now to the issues/questions, 1. When i go to sonar, or structure on the HDS it doesn't register the depth and the sonar screen and the structure screen are blank. I went to Settings>Sonar>Installation and tried to set the transducer to Totalscan but Totalscan isn's in the list. I thought this may be due to connection issue with the cable, but then i saw where it was registering the water temp so the transducer is fine and is connected fine. Any ideas here? 2. Is there a way to view Structure Scan from the Totalscan transducer on the Elite Ti? The Totalscan transducer isn't directly connected to the Elite Ti, but that is why i got the network. I thought it would make everything connect. Anybody know if this is possible? 3. Last question, The Elite 9 Ti came with a navionics chip (Navionics US/CAN+). I put it in my HDS because that's where i will be using it mostly. But i saw online last night that you would only need 1 chip for both units. Is this true? If so how do i do this? i tried changing the source on my Elite 9 Ti to Navionics, but it didn't work. (Chip is in HDS) I know this is alot, but i'm kinda lost right now and would love some advise. I paid a good chunk for the depth finder + Install. I would hate to have to spend more. Thanks to all who reply. I really appreciate it!
  22. I am wanting to start making my own spinnerbaits, and could use some advise. Firstly, I was looking at the Do-It molds for spinnerbaits and they have a banana design and a bullet design. Any advise on which to pick and the difference in them? (As far as action, etc.) Secondly, what brand/type of hooks and wire do you guys recommend? Thanks for the help!!
  23. Thanks for the info! I looked into making my own as well, just havent had time with work. When you use a nail weight, are you throwing on weightless hooks?
  24. Thanks. Can you buy these at tackle warehouse?
  25. Where i am from in SC, people use a A-Rigs alot in the winter. I never really had much confidence in throwing one, and the only one i have is the Yumbrella. The problem i have with it is that is it really heavy. The areas i would mostly use it would be throwing by docks. What is a good lighter weight umbrella rig? and what jig heads do yall use?
