I have 2 sv105l reels 1 px type rl reel 1 sv on a dobyns dx702c 1 on a daiwa steez flex lite ml 6'5" rod and the px type r on a Kistler ltx med 6'6" Rod. I think they all cast lures of various weights well probably fished all combo's about 10 fishing trips on the Susquehanna river for smallmouth.The rod needs to be able to load the lure weights effectively all the rods I'm using are lighter powdered which makes a huge difference in casting small lures.

I say try a Daiwa spinning reel they do not twist line like most spinning reel brands .The real secrete is to stop the line with your finger close the bail by hand and don't crank the handle when the drag is being used.I own 8 daiwa sol's 4 fuego's type a's and 3 tierra's and there are no line twist issues with any of these reels.

for $60.00 you could purchase a fine reel ( DAIWA EXCELER ) this reel is very smooth,casts great,good drag,metal body.

i had a rod shipped to my place of work by UPS it was a 6'6" all star one piece. but when UPS was done the shipping tube was broke in half. TWO 39" ice fishing rods nice!susQbassman

a few months ago cabelas had 25% off all rods and reels except SHIMANO. I guess this is a shimano thing,no discounts! glad i use the other brand DAIWA susQbassman.
