  1. i agree. you have to fish super tight to cover to get the big ones most of the time. if there is a stream or creek flowing into the pond lake etc then they relate to cover around it. the little ones usually roam around the pond but the big ones usually relate to cover. i would try a jig and jiggle it around the cover to make them strike.
  2. dude, if the pond has a creek running into or some area with cooler water, the big bass will post up to structure around the cooler water and stay there for a while. i guarantee it. i lost some big fish near creeks and cooler water! I used jigs and craws because they usually like the cool water and they travel from the creeks and streams to the pond. Good luck
  3. i agree if they see u then they are very cautious. i would try a split shot rig with a 4" curly tail grub or a suspended rapala. the drop shot rig sounds good too.
  4. I'm having trouble catching bass this summer. I've been using the carolina rig rigged with zoom u tale in motor oil and junebug. I also tried a floating worm, crawbug and shaky head worm both rigged on a shaky head jig (gamakatsu). the waters i fished on are dark, fallen trees, weeds, and points are the cover and structure. thought about trying the senko and rebel bumble bug but ran out of options. Help!!!! :-[
  5. I concur.... down here they don't sell the gulp crawbug anymore though... is it just to good? south carolina
  6. if you want to push your luck and get better with artificial lures, I would try the legendary white marabou jigs. they work wonders, you know?
  7. never went walleye or sauger fishing before? can someone give me a vivid detailed point of view?
  8. I want to go saltwater fishing this year. what is the best fish to start off fishing for at the coast of sc? I heard that the red snappers are good.
  9. how slow and how big of a jerkbait do i use in the winter? I'm in south carolina, so usually on few days it's not that cold like today..... what colors are best for murky (not muddy) water?
  10. I fish the senko shaped lizard with a small pellet weight on the hook. the weight depends on how much time i want it to reach bottom.
  11. what kind of bait do you use with the drop shot? oh yeah, dude, slugos and centipedes work great with drop shot rigs!!! you can even try putting a jig as the end weight, and a slugo as the main bait to entice those lethargic bass.. go ahead, try it!!!!
  12. dude, I caught my largest fish ever on a gulp crawbug! he took my bait and ran with it soon as I set the hook!!! so so exhilirating...........
  13. how in the h*ll do you fish a jerkbait? I tried the rip and stop technique for a long time, and no bites, ever. I want to be a pro, so someone please tell me good lures and tactics when it come to jerkbaits :-?
  14. I use big game for most situations... what is a good braid to start with anyway? why do I see some anglers fishing in slop with 65 pound test line? what are they trying to catch, king neptune?
  15. are there any bass clubs in south carolina? I would like to join some, if I could, to improve more on the knowledge of bucketmouths!!!!! oh yeah, and catching them too...... ;D
