  1. Looks like the Humminbird Helix series with SI will work for the wilderness FlexPod. The side imaging may not be perfect unless you do some further modifications to get the transducer to sit lower in the water. Here is a video of a humminbird helix with side imaging mounted on a wilderness FlexPod.
  2. I'm sure you can figure out a way to do it. You might need an arm mount over the side or you can make DIY scupper mount. The problem with the side scan transducer is it must be mounted below the entire hull of the kayak. The transducer is a full 12" (long and skinny) which is another obstacle. After looking around the web it looks like the FlexPod is good for transducers up to 6" long. The tripleshot transducer will not work with the FlexPod.
  3. If you do some searching on JDM websites these can be had for $284 on pre-order. You can also find metaniums for under $300. In stock reels are usually received faster then domestic sites. As much as I like to support shops here in the USA most high end reels from Japanese tackle sites can be had for over $100 off.
  4. I know that Davis in Sloatsburg carries Zodias rods and G Loomis. The World Fishing and Outdoor Exposition will be March 2-5 this year at Rockland Community College in Suffern NY. It's a large show and they should have some nice high end rods for you to check out or purchase. You can find more information online about the show as well as the exhibitor list. The show costs $13.
