  1. Option 1. Gets less cold in the winter and I hate the cold. Also way more grassy lakes in Florida than in SC, I prefer grass lakes.
  2. Haha! Reminds me of my launching experiences when I bring my 3yo and 6yo. Just yesterday I start backing the trailer up to the ramp to pickup the boat. The 3yo jumps out of the boat and runs and stands directly in the middle of the ramp and starts giving me backup hand signals. , I appreciate the effort and enthusiasm, but your standing smack in the middle of the ramp and preventing me from backing in.
  3. He wasn't the only lucky one. My friend was in line weighing a fish and they were interviewing a guy who had just won the hour ($10,000). It was like his first or second time fishing, his brother talked him into coming and bought him a cheap combo the night before. When they asked him what he caught it on, he just kind of mumbled something incoherent.
  4. Yep. C-Rigged fluke, on stage he said the fish bit the first time he drug the bait across the bed. Crazy. We had a lot of fun. Caught a bunch of fish, just not big enough. I caught a 5.75 on Wednesday on a swim jig. All 6 of us caught good numbers with a lot of fish right about 4lbs. 95% of our fish came a C-rigged trick worm in redbug color.
  5. Wow....Im guessing I won't have anything to myself. lol
  6. You think their is gonna be many fish left up shallow? or are most gonna be out in 10+'?
  7. Anyone here gonna be fishing the Big Bass splash next week? I'll be there with some buddies. Looks like the lake is about 6' low. Any thoughts or predictions about big fish weights?
  8. @Stratocat_Joe I had actually never seen this video before until today. According to Scott he wasn't invited as one of the original 80. I did found where I remember originally hearing he wasn't invited, It was from an episode of Ike Live.
  9. Interesting. I thought I read somewhere that he was angry because he didn't get an invite and that's why he left FLW and started fishing the BASS Opens. Now you've got me curious, I am going to do some research and see if I can get more information and post my findings. I really enjoyed watching the MLF cups years ago. It was a good production and it some something different. I personally wish they would have just stuck with what they had going.
  10. Will be start seeing articles about avoiding the pressured fish offshore by beating the bank for the less pressured bass?
  11. I always felt that way about their initial invitations when they were starting up. It was like, what was the criteria that decided who received invitations and who didn't? Other than, how can we hurt BASS as much as possible. Granted a lot of the people from BASS that they invited were the power hitters so it makes sense that they were chosen, but still it always rubbed me the wrong way they way they went about doing it. Like, Jesse Wiggins got an invite to BPT, but Scott Martin didn't. Don't get me wrong Wiggins is a great angler, but it was his first or second year on the Elite Series. How does he get invited over Scott Martin? I always felt that they should have released some kind of guide for who got invites(even if Duckett just made them up and didn't follow them). Tier 1 invites were for guys with, a certain win%, or amount of winnings, etc. Tier 2 invites. I know its their organization and they can go about it anyway they choose, but it always came off as an attempt to kill off BASS, and it turned me off to the BPT from the start.
  12. I think it was last year. Duckett was crappie fishing on Gville with his grandson during the 30 day off limits. I think he got a 10 minute penalty. I'm sure there wasn't any ill intentions, but still, fishing on the lake during the 30 day off-limits should warrant more than a 10 minute delay penalty. So there is definitely a double standard when it comes to MLF penalties.
  13. Friends don't let friends fish without FFS! 🤣
  14. I'm not a local to the area, but I've fished Gville twice. Once was at the end of April and once was in the middle of June. Both times I caught most of my fish in 10' or less. The trip in April I caught them mostly on PopRs and wacky senkos. The June trip I had more luck throwing swimjigs, frogs and punching grass.
  15. Fishing Rayburn for the first time for the Big Bass Splash in April. I want to fish the Atchafalaya, just haven't had a chance to get over there yet. I try to go to TB at least once a year.
  16. SE Louisiana. I fish mostly from Delacroix to Venice.
  17. As someone who fishes tidal marshes 99% of the time. I find that fishing muddy water in the ponds and bays is almost a waste of time. Where I fish is mostly shallow(4' or less) grassy ponds with almost no hard cover. If wind or tide pushes in muddy water, I think the fish just scatter randomly in the acres of grass and only bite if you happen to drop it on their head. Once the tide changes and starts pulling the clean water out of the grass and cuts, everything seems to come alive again. There are lots of dead end canals that were dug by oil and gas companies over the years, most of these have hard cover and laydowns along the shoreline. If water is muddy everywhere I go fish these canals, the fish seem to setup better on the hard cover in the canals.
  18. @casts_by_fly Just checked out Power Queen. Got really good reviews from several different articles. I may give them a go. I've wanted to make the switch for a year now, but I just had a hard time paying 900+ dollars for a battery. Especially since I've never really run into issues with Lead Acid, I've never run out of trolling power during a fishing trip. The main reason for the switch would be the weight, I can shed about 150lbs switching to Lithium. I couldn't fully justify it at 900ish a battery, but at 250ish, thats a totally different story. Would you recommend 2 12v or a single 24v?
  19. Is there any real different in the actual product? Impulse Lithium is charging $830for a 12V-100ah. I'm looking at this Redodo on Amazon for $250 and a Litime with the same specs for $319, both of which have 4.6 stars.
  20. It took me a little bit to get the NMEA sources setup correctly to share waypoints, but it definitely works. This may be true, I transferred all my waypoints from old unit to new via SD card before connecting NMEA. So I cannot say if old waypoints transfer, but I know any current ones do.
  21. I use NMEA 2000 to link my Elite Ti and my FS. I currently share waypoints between the two. My FS is at the console and my Ti is on the bow. I generally fish water that is less than 3' deep, so I have honestly never even tried to share the my ducer with the bow mounted Ti. If I have time this evening I'll go out in the backyard and try. I have a Ti, so this may be different for your Ti2, but I do notice that the waypoint icons can sometimes be slightly different between the FS and the Ti. Once I was dropping diamond marked waypoints on my FS, but they were showing up as heart icons on my Ti.
  22. True. But it has gotten much more popular and more common in the last 2 or so years. The fish may never adapt, but it will be interesting to watch and see if what happens.
  23. I have been thinking the same thing. I wonder if with time bass will adapt and start suspending less if they are getting to much pressure from FFS users.
  24. I already booked a place for Rayburn in April. We got a group of 6 going. If any other BR members are gonna be there and wanna say Hi at the weighin just lemme know.
