Just got a Daiwa Legalis 2000SH reel at Gander Mountain with 20 pound fire line (8 pound diameter) on sale. I'm using it for drop shot, shakey head, and other finessed applications. Is this a good reel or not I can't find much info, it feels nice out of the box though.
Is a five inch senko too much for drop shotting? Also, when I tie the rig the hook doesn't stand out sideways from the side. Is this because it only does that in the water? Thanks.
I'm much more of a finesse fisherman than a power fisherman for bass (mainly because 90% of the bass I have caught have been on UL spinning gear) and I got some fluorocarbon for a bigger spinning reel so I can try some techniques I haven't tried like dropshotting. Which means I will be going through lots of worms. Lately I have been trying different types of worms but all of the stick baits I have tried except the super $$$$$ senkos fall incredibly slow. Does anyone know any better worms? I'm about to try out the ZMan ZinkerZ and the Yum Dingers. Do these work as well as the senkos?
Anyone like red label to spool a whole spinning reel for stuff like drop shot? I ordered 8lb but am beginning to regret it after what I've been reading about it.
Recently broke mount for transducer on canoe while putting it on the trailer yesterday. Any mounts that work for the garmin 4dv transducer without modification?
It was the stiff rod and the spool tension. Mainly the spool tension because I used the same rod and adjusted the tension and brakes and was able to bomb a light crank bait. I'm about to get a MF Fenwick HMX for the reel.
I recently got a BPS PQ for finesse fishing and just can't seem to get it to work with light baits. I'm thinking about returning it for a different reel. Does anybody have any suggestions under 125$ preferably under $100.
