  1. Landed two this size, this morning. Lost a monster The Lilly pads are already taking over and I couldn’t believe all of the people
  2. If you’re ever in Albuquerque, check out the private ponds at Shady Lakes. I’m visiting my folks there this weekend and will be taking a stab at the 7-8 lbs they have rumored to be there. I learned how to bass fish there in high school. Good memories
  3. This pic motivated me to pick up a pack of those finesse Wormz! Sweet fish! Looks like a Bullhead
  4. @Bass Ninja cool report! Did you rig that Pit Boss horizontally or vertically as a trailer?
  5. Awesome! Never caught a wiper but my buddies from Colorado say they fight really hard
  6. Mike Long’s personality profile sounds like my EX-wife’s ??. Truly, delusional........

    Stumped

Strike King Bitsy Tubes on jig heads 3” PowerGrubs (White, Pumpkinseed) Ned Rig I confidently feel like I can promise you those smaller bass will keep you entertained with those soft plastics I was going to add Beetlespins, but the pickerels would go nuts I’m afraid Try em out! 3” Senkos wacky rigged would be the next level to try.
  8. GP Green Flk Pitboss swam near ambush points to imitate the bluegills. First time fishing the Havoc Pitboss and I’m loving the versatility and action of this classic bait Finally landed a LMB on the Livetarget Sunfish Hollow Belly. I modified it by taking pliers to make the hooks protrude at an upward angle. I’ve gotten more strikes on this top water lure than any other top water lures combined.
  9. I still have unopened bags and more bags of soft plastics yet to be tried at these ponds...... this new lineup is not going to help my cause I collect soft plastics like baseball cards back in the day #struggleisreal ?
  10. Not trying to highjack this thread, but quick question. On the 2/0 spider slider head, that offset section is very short and narrow to work with. Does the baby menace hold well bc I imagine it being too thick? That’s why I only use skinny 4” finesse worms on that particular style.
  11. There are some nice walleyes below the Butte dam. Fish chartreuse grubs tipped with a piece of night crawler Have an assortment of jig sizes to get close to the bottom. It’s very overlooked
  12. Zoom Ultravibe Speed Worm (California 420) and wacky wigged 5” Berkley Maxscent The General (GP/Watermelon) I fish the speed worm aggressively to locate them and the stick worm to clean up the mess I left behind
  13. I ask myself the same question when I use ned rigs at night in my local ponds. Nighttime doesn’t always have to be 10” ribbontails or Colorado bladed spinnerbaits. I’m actually more successful throwing grubs, smaller paddle tails, and Ned rigs at night at these highly pressured urban ponds
  14. We share the same thoughts here. I agree with the snack notion and the “matching the hatch” theory; but another bonus of using 2.8” and 3.3” is the multi-species appeal. I have a higher chance at catching walleyes, channel cats, and slab crappie with those smaller profiles while purposely targeting bass.
  15. Craw Papi 2.75” is one of my favorite jig trailers, especially on a Sk Bitsy Bug
  16. Very good video! My favorite segment was when you discuss the effectiveness of letting it sit for minutes at a time. I can just picture how lively it appears underwater with the currents, wind, and the shakiness of an angler’s hand. The aggressive rip during the summer months was eye-opening too. Good stuff, Glenn!
  17. I’m from Albuquerque and fly fishing is king where you live. The trout fishing is a blast in all of the Jemez waters. Fenton Lake has some incredible ice fishing. Then you have the Chama River north of Abiquiu that has some of the states largest brown trout, aside from the San Juan, near Farmington. Fish the Rio Grande near Taos gorge for nice pike. If you want to make it an adventure, pick up a whipping stick IMO. NM has some memorable fly fishing areas that I’m missing desperately now that I’m a lizard here in Phoenix
  18. Caught my first AZ walleye from a kayak! 3” Storm Wildeye Swim bait
  19. Cochiti has nice sized largies and smallies. Abiquiu is a wonderful multi- species reservoir. Caught my first smallie there. Healthy population of walleyes there too
  20. I can’t speak to the Senko in that color, but the Blue Pearl Silver Flake Shad-Shaped Worm is one of my top drop-shot producers. It’s a terrific Shad color
  21. Changes by the month. This month: Zoom Ultra Vibe Speed Worm Last month: 5”senko ever since I’ve started fishing heavily with worms, my catch rate has gone up tenfold
  22. Caught 5 of these guys today surface buzzing the Zoom Ultra Vibe Speed Worm (Cali 420) for violent topwater strikes. Not huge, but the coolest way to catch bass off worms IMO.
  23. I thought all of these responses were very spot on. When I got home, I examined my current inventory and had a little fun with it:
  24. Thought it would be interesting to hear how the members would ‘match the hatch’ (colors, bait, etc). This is a common AZ crawdad.
