  1. I can’t wait to try that!
  2. Great reply here. I mostly night fish and have had a ton of strikes the past week or so on top water lures. Missing a ton of fish on poppers and walking baits. A couple days ago, I asked a local tackle bait shop owner about my issues and he preached about using wake baits instead. Give them something to strike subsurface where they can actually have a chance at it. The light switch went on. On the next night outing at my local pond I’ll bring a bunch of JDM wake baits, Baby One-Minus, and some floating minnows. Something to chew on
  3. Nice to see the RI Skinny Dipper on a few replies. I almost picked that plastic too!
  4. I’ll play -Maxscent The General Worm -Trick Worm -4” Senko -Z-Man T. R. D. -3” Zoom Grub -Zoom Finesse Worm -Z-Man Finesse Shadz -Pit Boss -Zoom Ultra Speed Vibe Worm -3.5” Gitzit Tube Honorable Mentions: 7” Berkley Powerworm, 7.5” Culprit Worm, Rage Tail Menace
  5. I fish a similar pond you describe frequently and there’s a 30-minute topwater window from 7:00 -7:30 PM. It’s like clock work . If the weeds cooperate, I also recommend a Torpedo for any beginner. Just cast and reel. I just recently introduced my gf to night bass fishing and a Tiny Heddon Torpedo (Black Shiner -killer at night). It’s all she wants to use. She out fished me last night and I was using a MB Pop X and Zara Spook Puppies lol.
  6. RI Little Dipper on an owner flashy swimmer has caught me a lot of largies. Very durable too.
  7. Impressive stats! Gorgeous slabs too! What are your favorite crappie lures?
  8. Not trying to highjack this post, but that trailer pictured above is a Yum Ned Craw, NOT a crawbug. Sorry for the confusion. Still, the Yum Ned Craw should highly be considered for SK Bitsy Bug Jigs. Tremendous color options, Yum scent, Nice details, and perfect profile.
  9. The Yum Craw Bug is a fantastic trailer for the SK Bitsy Bug.
  10. Dead Horse Ranch State Park, AZ. 100 degrees but well worth it.
  11. Not sure if you like to catfish, but PM me next time to go to Lowell. I know the honey hole......
  12. I’ve tried the panfish magnets too and the gulp fry minnows win by a wide margin my friend
  13. 1” floating trout worms - pink and chartreuse on a slip bobber rig with 12” -18” leader 4# test with a size 12 mosquito hook. 1” Gulp fry minnows - 12” under a bobber on a 1/64 oz trout magnet jig head. Most effective bait for panfish 2.5” Gulp minnow - Black Shad is my jam. Drop shot from my kayak. Great for crappie, largies, and channel cats. Paired on a roadrunner jig head is a ton of fun. 3” Gulp minnow - For walleyes, slip-bobber rig, nose-hooked, with the bait presented a foot off the bottom. Bright and loud colored jigheads
  14. Don’t know what I’d do without my Gulp Alive Minnows. A very long time ago, I kept various Gulp products in a sealed, glass mason jar. Horrible idea! One day, in my garage, the jar got knocked over and shattered all over my garage floor! Summer time in AZ during the accident and that smell never went away! After that atrocity, I bought a nice, compact Frabil plastic bait container to house all of my Gulp baits. Periodically, I just buy tubes of recharge liquid to replenish the juice whenever the level gets low.
  15. These look promising. Nice recommendation. Question on the clip placement: what is the action of the blade when it’s set in the rear position? I know when I’m vertically jigging, I’ll apply it to the center position.
  16. Just thought of another lure that fits the bill. Rebel Teeny Wake-R.
  17. Thanks! Would you estimate the 1/4 oz to be approx 2”?
  18. That’s a terrific Shad color too. I have only been successful catching crappie near surface in the spring.
  19. For crappie, White micro chatterbait, rod tip at a 90 degree angle, and buzz that sucka subsurface. Awesome in the dawn and dusk settings when the crappie are feeding off Shad near surface.
  20. Speechless
  21. The bows go deep in the summer here in AZ. During my camping trip last weekend, I tried vertically jigging blade baits from my kayak after failing miserably trolling my go-to lures which is usually lights out during spring and fall. Equipped with my sonar unit, I was able to video game fish rainbow trout in 30-35ft suspended. It was this old school Heddon Sonic blade (I’m pretty sure) and was killing it! I couldn’t believe how many fish I was picking off! And in August? While experimenting with different cadences, I was picturing how I would jig for them ice fishing. So, what blade baits would you recommend for rainbow trout? BPS lazer blades and Vaults are in my cart due to the approx 1.5” profile. 1/4 oz should suffice
  22. I have a bag of sweet and kinky beavers in the color ‘black light’ that is probably one of the coolest colors in any soft plastic I own
  23. The Little Dipper is very underrated. Durable baits and very effective on an Owner Flashy Swimmer w/ cps
  24. The forage is small where I fish. Downsizing is king in the Valley of the Sun. Here’s my top three:
