  2. looks like i am doing everything correctly, except everyone seems to be using a larger hook. I will give that a shot. Seems overkill.
  3. correct. palomar knot with hook up. tag end back through with drop shot tied to that.
  4. Help! I am not new to fishing. And definitely not new to bass, but I am a complete newb at wacky rigged senko drop shot fishing. I cannot get a hook up! I am not fishing large Texas size bass where I live. Average size is 2-3 lbs. A big bass is 4 lbs. I understand the rig and have been very successful getting bit. I have had a lot of strikes and even a couple fish on for a few seconds. But I am struggling landing a fish using this technique. I am pretty confident that I am not getting a decent hook set. I have tried everything from a slow gentle hook set, to a hard hook set, and everything in between. I cannot keep a fish on for the life of me with this technique and it is driving me nuts. Currently using Gamakatsu wide gap finesse in both sizes 1 and 2. No dice. Help! This is my Achilles tendon apparently.
  5. only the cu200i? no love.
  6. I will say I do need 200 size as the reel will see double duty here in the northwest as a steelhead reel when I am not using my curado 301's. 201hg scorpion any good? How did you come about this coupon? I also have a $25 gift card for Cabela's as well.
  7. I am in need of a new all around baitcaster. I already have a slow geared baitcaster for cranks. I'm not overly thrilled about the looks of the curado I series. Not fond of the color. But I can look past that if it is the best bang for the buck. Especially since they've been discounted now. What else should I be looking at? Wait for the new rendition of the curado? Assuming they'll update the brakes to match the 70 size? Wait for the discount on the citica? Completely different brand?
  8. My name is Ryan. I have had a passion for fishing my entire life. I mostly fish bass, muskie, steelhead, salmon, and trout. I look forward to learning from you all!
