  1. Anything on the cheaper end...? $250-300 on a cranking rod is a little high. Dosent have to be glass can be a moderate fast also. Like to keep rod around $120-$175
  2. Hey Guys, looking for a moderate true cranking rod. Glass if they make em. Problem im having is finding a one piece in 7’4” to 8”. Iv found a few 7’ but im looking to be throwing mid to semi deep cranks and looking to get some distance. Crazy how many casting i can find in my specifications but for this setup I need a spinning rod ( Actually for a buddy who ONLY uses spinning rods. I love my new 7’11” Levante for cranking ) Thanks Peeps!
  3. Awesome! Thanks Guys! The Manns -1 looks like the ticket. What colors produces best for ya? Liking the baby bass and fireshad....
  4. Looking for your favorites in a Shallow squarebill that works best in grass flats. Want it to dive 0-2 feet and just touch the top of the grass but dont want a wake bait. There was a tread a little while back where alot of the people recommended the same shallow crank but cant find it. Whats your favorites....?
  5. I was thinking of getting the 7’11” powell for deep cranking. But also wanted to throw square bills on this Rod if need be and thought might be tough on such a long rod. The 7’5” works for my mid cranking and deep cranking. Also squarebills if my 6’9” squarebill rod has a jerkbait tied on it....
  6. I bought the 7’5” Powell endurance composite rod about 6 months ago. I would HIGHLY recommend. Most of my setups are different brands as I like to see whats out there ( also like a good sale on a nicely reviewed rod ) but this powell made me want to buy another one. Light, perfectly balanced and great taper for some deep cranking. Actually caught a tiger muskie on it yesterday at a local lake by accident. Thought it was my PB bass for a second till it peeled drag for 20 seconds haha. Made me love that Rod even more. Have fun picking out a new setup....almost as fun as fishing
  7. Picked up costas fantail 580 glass green tint on ebay last week for $165. They were as low as $150 but wasent to sure about the seller. Amazing! Have had a pair of costas black tint 580 plastics for 5 years. Got plastic lenses before because i really dont like how heavy glass is especially how bulky costa frames are. But these fantail frames are on smaller side and not a huge height difference with the glass lenses.
  8. I have bait casters for all my MH needs So looks like....... My medium Envy for light jigs/neko 6’8” HMG for Ned/spybait Then new 7’ - 7’3” ML rod for Drop Shot make ya hot! Dang really like my envy with the Ci4 for my drop shot setup as its super light and sensitive but also was thinking that a ML would fit my dropshotting needs better. Didnt want to break the bank for a new rod (was thinking round a $100) but if that new rod will be for drop shot make ya hot, might just have to buy a shiny new toy.......
  9. Currently have 2 spinning setups I use. Want to setup a 3rd as i do a good amount of finesse fishing here in WNY. Just bought a Shimano Stratic 1000 HG off of ebay for $117 that i couldent pass up. So right now i have 2 spinning rods and 3 reels. Rods: Reels: 7’1” Envy Medium Fast Ci4 2500 6’6” Fenwick HMG Medium light Fast Shimano Stratic 1000 HG Pfuegler Presidente 2000 or 2500 So need to get a 3rd rod to complete my spinning setups for right now. What i want is: - Drop shot setup ( do lots of ) - Ned rig/spybait setup - Neko/ Small jig * On the 2 setups i run now i use 10lb braid to leader * on the ned rig/spybait setup i was planning on running 6lb yozuri hybrid if that what you guys think...? Ok so what i need help with is: - What 3rd rod would you guys recommend / length and power ($100-$200) - How would you pair the 3 setups - and what setup would you use for each technique Thanks for the help guys! This site is amazing with all the knowledge out there Tight Lines. Rob
  10. Got the Stratic 1000 HG for a $117 on ebay with code PARTYINUSA. Pretty freaking happy. Close to getting the BG but a stratic for $117, I just couldent pass up. Gonna spool it with some 6lb yo-zuri hybrid and use for my ned/spy bait setup. ......now what rod to buy to pair it up with......?
  11. Man JB, this is a forum to learn from each other not tell someone there a idiot or to prove your point. But gold star for you bud
  12. Anyone have any input on the light flip/ jig rod?
  13. So with the 20% off TW, going to add 2 - 3 rods. Need some moving bait rods as all i have are fast tapers. With Okuma TCS having a extra 10% off (30% total) i was going to get the 6'9" MH for jerkbaits and poppers and squarebills. Then the 7' MH for medium diving cranks, rattletraps, spinnersbait/bladed jigs. Both mod/fast action. What you guys think? Also looking for a 3/8 once jig rod, will also be used to flip in medium cover with no more than a 3/8-1/2 weight. Was looking at the 7'3" heavy TCS or i know alot of people like the IROD genesis lineup. Think the magic stick might be to much. What else if not those would you guys recommend for a bottom contact rod in this price range? Also do the IROD rods have micro guides? Hard to beat the TCS rods for around $100 after discount but let me know what you guys think Thanks!
  14. So i fish jigs in all situations and fish texas rigged plastics if i punching grass. But when would i use a punching jig instead of a texas rig? and vice versa. or put a skirt on a texas rigged plastic? Thinking clearer water go more natural with plain texas rig and if dirtier water go with jig or punch skirt to disperse more water? Maybe i answered my own question or maybe im a idiot haha. didnt see any other articles about this so thought i would ask you experts. Thanks Rob
