  1. Freedom Tackle Stealth Swim Jig. Can change out the hook and comes with a screwlock. I put owner twistlock hooks on to make it weedless.
  2. We're on opposite sides of the country but I'll let you know what has worked for me. The lake I fish I recently measured some small minnows around 4". I've been throwing the bigger Keitech swing impact fat 4.8-5.8" without bites. However, when I switch to the 3.8" and the 4" swing impact/easy shiner, the bass choke it. I've caught all my 3lb+ bass on these smaller swimbaits. Moral of the story, I try to match the length, girth, and color of the small baitfish as best I can and it seems to have given me the best results.
  3. Luggage scale. Several people on here use them. Very accurate. Costs around $6.
  4. Can someone identify these two bait fish? I'm in Upstate NY, on a small lake.
  5. I did not know that about biospawn. I thought they designed their own flanged tail. Interesting. Thanks for the info.
  6. Isn't it the same as the rage tail lineup? Not biospawn? Or does biospawn also use rage tail?
  7. I use 30lb braid on my baitcaster (8lb mono equivalent) for lures 1/4-1oz. I fish relatively clear water, visibility 5ft+. Never have had an issue of bass being line shy and the baitcaster handles the braid just fine.
  8. Thanks for all the replies everyone. I'm leaning towards it being some kind of clutter, (pollen/plankton/etc.) Next time I go out I'll target those fish in 16' and find out. I also might just jump in and see if I notice a significant temperature drop.
  9. Resized
  10. Been trying to figure out my electronics as I'm still relatively new to them. This is a Garmin Striker 5cv. Was probing my lake to see if there is a thermocline in it. Went to the deepest part (24ft) and came across this band around 5-10 foot mark. As I zoomed in it was more 6-8 foot mark. I went around for a bit and kept getting this mark. Was wondering if this could be a thermocline? The lake is electric only, 500 acres. Relatively calm coves but the main body gets its fair share of wind and there is a dam that generates a little surface disturbance. However, I've also seen what appear to be fish arcs on the bottom when I'm in 16ft of water. This finding would contradict the thermocline.
  11. Anyone use these? Want to know how the keeper compares to the owner twistlock hooks. Also want to know if the keeper on this hook gets in the way of hooksets as it looks to take up a good portion of the gap.
  12. Don't have experience with the fastach heads but try these. Can swap hooks out.
  13. I use it to imitate this.
  14. Biospawn exoswim. Pro blue red pearl. 4"
