  1. Reel up before setting the hook. make sure your hooks are sharp, Sharpen or replace with new hooks before each outing, use braid to a fluro leader instead of mono ( less stretch). Dont skimp on hooks. Gamakatzu are great hooks. Superline Ewgs for heavy cover litewire hooks for carolina rig and open water senko. Apply these tactics and you should see better hook up percentages. My 2 cents
  2. Thanks for the article Brad. Very helpful. I just ordered a Loomis E6X 6’6 med heavy going to pair it with a Pflueger supreme. I’ll let u know after Saturday what I think.
  3. Looking for a good rod ( 6’ to 6’8)to flip into Lilly pockets and quick tight pitching heavy cover. Will pair with an oversized president reel. 35, or 40. Whatever balances rod best.
  4. Ur wise above your years for not taking something you enjoy for granted. But if being in college and the military is the culprit of stealing ur time, then you my man are someone with direction and a future. Thanx for your service and when u get a chance to hit the water, do so.
  5. Just bought two elite tech rods:6:10 mlxf and the 7ft medium. Mlxf for dropshot and the 7ft for deeper water split shoting and fluke. Also going to use 7ft med for power shoting heavier cover. I've caught fish on both and they performed great. Tremendous rods.
  6. Frabil. I also bought the bibs and jacket 87 Bucks Amazon ?
