  1. Reminds me of a time my brother and I were casting jigs in deep structure. No sooner had my jig went in when my line took off across the surface and all I did was stand there with my mouth open watching it. It was my brother yelling, "Swing, swing...!" that finally brought me back to Earth. Yes, it was weird. Good thread.
  2. The perfect popper is a rare thing, you can spend your life looking for one and it would not be a wasted life.
  3. This Hellgramite replica made by Charlie Hines will never touch the water.
  4. Mann's 9" Blackberry Jelly Worm.
  5. Just curious, is this a channel and how far north could you navigate this area?
  6. I guess I'm fortunate to have access to several lakes that don't allow motor boats.
  7. I do a lot of night fishing this time of year to beat the heat. (getting ready to launch by 3 am this morning) When fishing during hours of darkness I secure an automatic strobe to my PFD.
  8. 3700 Deep for cranks, 3700 for top water, 3700 for jerk baits, 3600 (not shown) for terminal. Attached to the side of the crate is an IFAK (Individual First Aid Kit), and other pouches for misc. I also have a 12V control box made from a 1449 Plano box that plugs into a SAE plug in the rear of the tank well that provides power to the GoPro and 12V Nav light.
  9. This was my latest purchase...Paw Paw Mouse, 1931-1932.
  10. Sixty something and I've been knockin' on that door my whole life...I'm not giving up without a fight!
  11. Great to see another King Daddy user! I get a few strange looks throwing mine...it's a good frog.
  12. You guys will always hold a special place in my heart. I was injured on my last tour in the Middle East and had it not been for this one young Medic who kept me from bleeding out, I wouldn't be with my family today. He stayed with me all the way to the airfield. God Bless you Medics! Thank you for this thread! This old war horse has enjoyed reading through all the posts.
  13. I use to not wear mine, considered myself a strong swimmer. The wife finally convinced me to start wearing it. Ten years ago, I was swamped by a motor boat in very cold water and I'm glad I was wearing it. Cold water can drain your strength fast.
  14. The best PFD is the one you wear while paddling.
  15. Built this using a Pelican 1400 case. 2-12 amp batteries and has room for a 3rd. USB, Voltmeter, 12V plug, SAE plug on side, LED lights on side, and two pair 12V post.
  16. I started fishing before the transistor was invented, so most of my knowledge came from family, friends, and what books could be found on the subject. I watch YouTube fishing and I have to say that I wish it had been around back in the day. There is a lot of drama and you have to wade through a little BS sometimes, but it is entertaining sometimes. That being said, I'll be the first to tell you that you're never to old to learn. Now, if I could just get on the Pro Staff for Depends or PoliGrip.
  17. Risto Rap...Shad Rap on steroids!
  18. I always wait for the November/December sales in Japan when I buy MB baits. Even with the registered air shipping I can still save over U.S. retailers and their free shipping. I just placed an order for some Ito Shiners this past weekend, and they were $5 cheaper than anywhere in the U.S. MB makes a quality bait and they are worth what you pay.
  19. I got the 2.0s for $18 this past holiday season from samuraitackle.com in Japan. They are back up to regular price now, so you'll have to wait until next December if you want them below retail from Samurai Tackle. U.S. retailers almost never discounts MB lures, so I get most of lures discounted from Japan. As a matter of fact, I just placed an order this past weekend for some Ito Shiners and saved over $20 over what I would pay a retailer here. (That's even considering the $13 Reg Air fee.)
  20. I haven't fished the Grenade. The Big Z has a wide wobble, even on a fast retrieve. I like using it when the bite slows down on other cranks...it seems to get their attention back.
  21. Picked a few of these up this past November and am looking forward to trying them this year. Anyone use them yet?
  22. Ocean Kayak Big Game II
