  1. If there was a good Sun angle when the image was taken you can find spawning beds also.
  2. I love using Earth when scouting for new waters and even for getting a different perspective on known waters. They closed one of the lakes on our local wildlife refuge for maintenance about four years ago and it was reopened two years ago. Earth was very helpful when seeing what was done by the earth moving equipment. First picture shows the lake drained and under maintenance. The other picture shows what it looks like today. There are a lot of four pounders being caught these days from yaks.
  3. I like this forum mainly because it seems like it is one place where both young and older anglers feel comfortable interacting. It's also the largest bass fishing library out there, hands down.
  4. I like looking at and collecting vintage tackle, be nice to see a thread started. Thanks for sharing.
  5. Just a tip, start putting it out there now, when you're in a crowd at work just announce that you hope you don't get a watch for a retirement gift. They will start poking trying to find out what you hope to get. I did it and it worked. I told everyone that I wanted fishing lures!
  6. I go through this many blackberry Jelly Worms every year. This box was ordered last November and is almost gone. Although they don't hold up good to subsequent catches, the bass love em. Been using them since 1975 and as long as they continue to perform, I'll continue to use them.
  7. I love that Rage Lobster! I think I have two left and I've already have them on my Black Friday list.
  8. When our daughter graduated from the university back in 2004, I told her to "...make your life extraordinary." Her answer...
  9. X2 I tried my hand at making cranks once, never did master the airbrush. These are a few crank bodies available at some tackle supply stores.
  10. There are a lot of Megabass collectors (including myself) that go after the Sp-c and Limited lures. This one is also an "Anniversary" run which also makes it desirable.
  11. On May 8, 1945, Allied Armies across Europe received a simple message in Morse Code. Dot Dot Dot Dash, or V for Victory. The Creek Chub Victory Bomber, circa 1946.
  12. I'll fish throughout the month, but I think I've always had better results fishing 2-3 days before and after a new moon. (no moon)
  13. Today's sunrise and sunset is always better than yesterday's....yep, that's what I learned.
  14. Been on my bucket list for years. (sigh)
  15. The one pictured is the Jr.
  16. Works great with the rotating line tie. Should you try it, make sure you use the larger turbo blade. I first tried the regular blade and it really didn't have an effect, but with the larger blade, she thumps.
  17. Good review! I stepped out of my boat for the last time 10 years ago when I got my first kayak and eventually sold the boat. (Couldn't justify letting it sit idle.) Sometimes I miss it. Always told myself that if I got another boat it would probably be a Lund. Lund should hire you...you do good reviews.
  18. You nailed it!
  19. https://fishingtackleretailer.com/short-strikes-no-14 Just now finished reading this. I hope this doesn't affect the reel manufacturing in Korea. Pure Fishing was making some good reels over there for a few brands and every reel I have that was made there turned out to be good reels. (Pflueger President LP is one of my favorites)
  20. New comers to bass fishing are so fortunate to have access to videos like this. When I was first learning I only had magazines and books. Nothing beats a well made instructional video...cuts years off the learning curve!
  21. Winning Hearts and Minds, or rice planting...
  22. I like to break dance along the drop offs during pre-spawn. Don't laugh at the mod, it actually works.
  23. Marilyn Monroe...someone is giving away his age.
