  1. I thought I had lost it forever...I'll send my address.
  2. Bingo Fellow collector.
  3. I picked these up from Amazon awhile back and they work good. You may be able to find them in craft stores too.
  4. Way to cold to launch a kayak, so I'm going to the holodeck. "Computer, run Scoggins Trophy Bass Lake program and remove safety protocols."
  5. I've always believed that genetics played a major part in determining the percentage of "big" bass in a body of water. Lake management is key to a productive trophy lake also. The U.S. Forest Service owns and manages one of my favorite lakes here in Oklahoma and in 1995 they drained this lake and removed the northern strain bass and restocked it with Florida strain fingerlings. They also added gizzard shad and bluegill for forage and within two years there were 3 lb bass being caught. Within ten years 5 lb + was becoming the norm and today a person has a better than average chance of landing a double digit. The Forest Service is constantly monitoring the population via electrofishing and DNA testing and as a result, many locals are breaking their PBs on an annual basis. I've found that the lake has spoiled me as it has gotten to the point where 7-8 lb catches no longer excite me as they once did. I have to agree with @A-Jay, "smarts" isn't as important as many believe; bass are predators. Genetics + population + management + growing season yields a good time on the water.
  6. I'm glad to see this thread active again. It's amazing when you think how fast kayaks and kayak accessories have evolved in just 10-15 years. When I purchased my first yak there was no YakAttack (there was only Scotty) yet, and very few YouTube channels or sites covering rigging. That's when DIY was really DIY.
  7. Welcome!
  8. For the most part, glitter boats stay away from me. Although, I'm not sure why.
  9. May 15, 1967, Duc Pho, Vietnam, Charles Kettles flew his UH-1 Huey into heavy enemy fire and rescued 40 American soldiers. He was awarded the Medal of Honor July, 2016, for his actions on that day 51 years ago. He reported to the "Last Roll Call," this past Monday, age 89. 10. I don't own a 10' (yet) but I can tell the difference in tracking between the 15', 13', and 12' yaks that I own. I've always heard that the 10' yaks shine on rivers and streams when it comes to steering.
  11. Let me know when it's finished and I'll come pick it up.
  12. That Vision 110 is no good. Send it to me and I'll dispose of it for you.
  13. Please folks, find a good, comfortable PFD and wear it! Take every precaution possible when you're on the water and insist others to do the same. My prayers go out to this soldier's family. https://www.stripes.com/news/us/fort-hood-sergeant-dies-in-boating-accident-on-texas-lake-1.565885?fbclid=IwAR3NP_FnW54TyDBydCQzZXNam29rPf-DPqUpgNMDjvZngpgosZBtrinE9nQ
  14. Welcome! BR has a good YouTube channel also. https://www.youtube.com/user/BassResource
  15. I agree. I love my products and my jersey.
  16. That looks like it. I got mine from a RV dealership. These are the posts I used: HIGHROCK 10pcs Terminal Binding Post Power Amplifier Dual Copper 2-Way Banana Plug Jack (from Amazon)
  17. It's a Pelican 1400 and I used Lexel around the gauges and switches.
  18. Welcome @JaredM! I grew up on the other side of the river in Illinois. I'll be hauling my yak up there sometime in the late spring.
  19. Welcome!
  20. I always start off bigger and if nothing takes it, I down size. I also consider shape when the crank bite should be on, but I'm not getting strikes. I've learned that when I step up to a wider/fatter profile, or vice versa, the change triggers bites. 21. Welcome. If you ever see a guy holding a hawg bass in one hand and a rod in the other, all while doing a break dance on the front deck of his boat, ( @Bluebasser86 ) then you're on the right lake.
  22. Welcome
  23. The landscape and faces change, but the tradition is still same. On May 4th, 2013, I returned to my first home away from home, Fort Benning, Georgia, to watch this young man and others receive their Infantry Cord. I became friends with his father and he has, on a weekly basis, kept me up to date on his son's life as a soldier. I breathed a sigh of relief yesterday when he informed me that his son returned home after spending a year in Afghanistan. I just wanted to share with you my pride in knowing that there are young men and women whose love for country compels them to serve their nation in time of war. Sergeant Tyler Cox, United States Army.
