  1. Where are those NFL scouts? Combat football, 1974. I'm far right.
  2. I've heard they don't work, if you want I can dispose of them for you.
  3. Early spring? Do me a favor and smack that groundhog.
  4. Eagle 1 drone 0
  5. I'd try around that feeder creek on the north side and along the bank on either side.
  6. "There's no losing when it comes to bass fishing. You're either catching, or learning, or both." author unknown
  7. Welcome
  8. Welcome Matt!
  9. Welcome. Yak On!
  10. In defense of Bill Murphy's book, our tackle changes over time, but our approach to structure doesn't. Just when I think I got that green fish figured out, it throws me a curve ball. It is then that I think of the wisdom behind his words on page 47.
  11. I ate this bass.
  12. Mid 60's, Crème worm, Zebco 202 combo.
  13. Yeah, but the rush you get the other 95% of the time makes it worth it. (Standing left, Green Ramp, Ft. Bragg) That video was intense, thanks for sharing @A-Jay.
  14. If you're worried about being seen, use both. I'm probably an accident waiting to happen as the kayak I use most often is camo and my PFD is close to being OD. I do fly an American flag off the back and if there are a lot of motors on the lake, I'll fly an orange flag. Did that guy in the motor boat see you, maybe, maybe not. I do think there are folks out there who think it's funny to buzz smaller craft. I got my justice once when a couple of guys in a "glitter" boat buzzed me close to shore and they knew I was there as they had trolled beside me a few minutes before and asked me if I was catching anything. I watched them go on down the lake, turn around and put the throttle down. When they buzzed by me they must have not known about the granite boulders just below the water line and in a flash their lower unit and transom was destroyed. They're lucky they didn't get killed. Oh well, I hope they had good boat insurance.
  15. Because some wounds never heal.
  16. Same here.
  17. Gave me my PB. The Mann's 9 or 12" Jelly Worm is the King of Worms.
  18. I've only used a guide two times, and I tipped one $200. He was worth every bit of it as he spent a whole day showing me where the "real bass" hang out on a lake that would have taken me several trips to figure out on my own. He provided lunch, and turned me on to some baits that I still use to this day. I landed some nice bass on that trip, two went 7+ lbs and my subsequent trips over the years gave me some double digits. The knowledge I gained from him about that lake would almost fill a book. IMO, a good guide will also share his knowledge about a lake's contour, bass movements, etc. When you find a guide like that, reward him with a good tip.

  20. Yes, I just saw that on Amazon.
  21. I went out yesterday and burned some powder with the Hawken and when I got home I went on the Thompson Center site to see about ordering some new nipples. I didn't realize that they had been discontinued. Shame, best Hawken ever made.
