  1. I don't fish from the bank much, but sometimes I have to pull the kayak through the stuff. I use a solution made up of 1 cup of water, 2 cups of white vinegar, and 20 drops of peppermint oil in a spray bottle. I have the bottle nearby so I can reapply middle of day. I hate spraying any chemicals on myself.
  2. I do and they're worth the coin for sure, especially the Boundary Boots/shoes. NRS also sells good gloves. I hope it warms up for you soon, my cold weather gear has been cleaned and put away.
  3. That's what I hear. I wanted to launch yesterday, but the wind was just too much for a kayak. This is the time of year where I almost miss the bass boat.
  4. Have you declared a major yet, @OKSTFISHER99? Looks like you may have a passion for wildlife conservation.
  5. Suppose to rock and roll around here next couple of days @Bluebasser86.

  7. Spot on for this kayak angler who hates getting caught in a storm.
  8. Anglers heed warning.
  9. Good advice, especially when you tie on those $ lures.
  10. Wow! We're not anywhere near that bad, but it's rained every day this past week. I'm waiting a couple days for it to settle down before I try going out. Hang in there, those fish will be waiting for you.

  12. I can't help you with that "Jack Hammer alternative," however, you can open the eye on the Jack Hammer. I've already changed out blades on a few Jack Hammers. (Also retied my own skirts on some.) If you look closely at the head of the bait, you'll see a slot where the end of the eye rests in. Using very small needle nose pliers, (You want small enough jaws to fit inside the eye.) you can pull the end out of the that slot. Take your time and you will not chip the paint on the head. Once you change blades, carefully bend, push, the end of the eye back into the slot.
  13. Sounds like a plan @fishwizzard, time to fire up that welder.
  14. Some days you just got to leave it up to grandpa.
  15. I leave my C-Tug at the water edge and then lift the rear up on the cart. Have you tried placing the cart under the bow where you have some hull geometry to work with?
  16. I bought that stone after watching this video, works great.
  17. This one I have to remember, "experienced," I like that!
  18. Maybe I've used mine so much it has become quite easy to secure under the yak. I just set mine at an angle from the yak, then lift the rear and swing over on top of the C-Tug. Easy peasy for me.
  19. I've always heard that if you catch your PB using a frog, then you are a real frogman.
  20. That is classic @slonezp, thanks for sharing!
  21. I was looking for some hooks when I saw these. Slow Death and Super Death, who comes up with these names?
  22. Yesterday evening, calm before the storm.
  23. Finally, another Rapala collector nut! Have you heard of Rapala Nation? I use to hang out on that forum, but it has started to go dead if it hasn't already. I've been collecting pre-VMC lures for years, mainly Shad Raps, Fat Raps, DD 90s, Husky 13s (balsa), INOX, and the F9s-F18s. Although I have a few, I never got around to collecting the DT lures, but I've been thinking of putting together a collection of pre-VMC DT10s and go on from there. If I come across any special DT6s, I'll let you know. My pride and joy is this 1954, F11 star foil. (the hooks have been cleaned since this pic was taken)
  24. I have other brand worms and I should fish them more, but I always find myself rigging up a Mann's 9" or 12" Jelly Worm. I've used Jelly Worms for 45 years now and they have landed me hundreds of bass over the years. (Including my PB.) I did buy some big zipper worms this year and I'm saving those for a particular lake on the Arkansas border.
  25. Pad Crasher, Live Target, River2Sea, etc, they're all good. However, when I need to move some cabbage, only the King will do.
